Overhaul for Gallagher Square

In honor of Petco Park turning the big 20 this March, the San Diego Padres have started a huge renovation project at Gallagher Square to create an iconic events area just north of the stadium!

Pperhaps you should highlight the design that has blocked the view to the game for parents that need to watch their children on the play field or play equipment. Doubled the hardscape, further increased the heat island effect with synthetic turf, provided little shade for users, and has sequestered the 20+ large dogs that use the hills in the past to a small area near some restaurant trash cans.

All valid points, but I try to keep it on a positive note. Seeing the project come to fruition, it really is more massive than I anticipated. Hoping they figure out a way to connect the stadium to island ave. and the neighborhood better…
