Two America Plaza block hasn't changed since I first arrived in '93. Always hiding behind that plywood fence/wall. So it's about time!! Yes!! Thanks for the update news!!!!!
I was told that One America plaza was originally going to have a twin on the site of two American plaza. During the construction of the parking garage an issue with the soil was discovered. The construction was halted And the site abandoned for over 30 years. This is why the new hotel being constructed on the site was only approved for 13 stories.
It was always meant to be a smaller shorter building. You can see the original renderings from the 90's in the link. The hotel looks very similar as far as floor plan to what was originally intended. ua-cam.com/video/XJpDc5eTzRE/v-deo.htmlsi=SIngEET-Ch4qqokh
This is a great location. which is why 13 floors is way too small for what it should be. They need to add another 30 floors of condos to this. Perfect location, right at the only conjunction of all three Trolley lines, Coaster, and Amtrak. Crazy that it's sat this way since One America Plaza was constructed 30+ years ago
@@chanoualb9213 so great! Thank you for the kind words! We have a lot of cranes in the air right now with some major projects coming soon! Welcome Home (soon)
Any news about the C Street Inn or the old Central Library? I bet you zero downtown restaurants with drive thru planned? Any Seaport Village Tower news?
They keep talking about revitalizing C street, but have yet to do anything besides landscaping. Old library they either have or will convert into a small shelter with beds. No drive through places planned but there’s still Jack n the box, McDonald’s and Del Taco down here.
@@DavidSpiewakI've been inside the Central library many times and once the bookshelves and tables are gone there is a ton of space for bunk beds and wall lockers and extra showers and toilets/sinks . As you may know there is even a movie theater to keep the barbarians calm. They could easily install a kitchen. If they wanted to generate money they could have a small take out window for burgers, tacos and ice cream cones. Or even some tables so you could enjoy an all Day breakfast. Not sure if you recall Lee's Cafe on 5th Avenue. My friends and I used to eat breakfast up until 7:00 p.m., awesome pancakes 🥞🥞🥤🥞!
