Okay, Mr. Creepy. I was *just* looking at these last night, and then when I open up UA-cam this morning this is the very first recommended video from UA-cam, and you only published it an hour ago?? 😆😆 Seriously though, I appreciate the (amusingly well timed) review of these. I may need to go pick one up now!

I saw SmartHomeJunkie post a video and bought the components assembled it and plugged it into HA and no smoke but a constant beep and red led on 532.
I already know from my experience and Ed’s that I wish I bought a case and now the sandwich unit preflashed!
I think the demand is high and with you and Ed making videos with different use cases, the demand is only going to increase.
Nice job as usual with clear instructions and great to have you back!

Was looking to replace my kids Toniebox with something more techie and open to customize like a Phoniebox and stumbled upon this beautiful piece of tech Ardonno assembled here....and forgot about it!
Thanks you, Mark, for reminding me. Just ordered two pieces right away!
Can't wait to get these in September as I missed the faster delivery by one week.
Also looking forward to a battery powered version.
Maybe Adonno could think about a more kid friendly version of the housing. Something more colorful or a nice playful logo.

In no way am I at Mark’s level but I am building the tag reader and intend to use it with Music Assistant and I really enjoy using MA.
I am still new to HA, only 4 months but all my old mp3 files are on a NAS and I hope to use tags to start a playlist.
I will be learning this too! So I am not sure this is encouraging but I have lots of questions or learning on scripts and automations for use with MA.
I would say stay tuned but I am not an influencer like Mark, just a tinkerer. So I am not sure how I would let you know when I have succeeded. I enjoy my streaming music while doing my “projects” so I expect I will eventually know MA better than many other integrations.
When Mark has a 30 year old and his house to himself he might be more about music.
I will post a video of using MA with HA and the Aqara Magic Cube controlling playback of mp3s on NAS on an Arylic Upstream board.

I made one of these (not this version. mine is a Frankenstein of their parts and custom case). I have had a lot of fun with it but its really hit and miss playing media on plex. Mostly miss (like 80% of the time lol) grandson loves it when it works. set up a zigbee button next to the reader that turns on the tv and switches it to the plex app on roku. Then he has cards with the movie cover art so he can play his movies. I am interested in how you got disney plus to work though. As I have an annual for him so I could change to that if it works better...

Great timing. I posted the following a few days ago on the HA Esp Forum (no reply). Maybe you might have a suggestion.
I have been using the NFC Tag Reader from Adonno as a garage door opener.
It works when it wants to. Let me explain.
The NFC unit is outside my garage in a sealed unit. The wemos is inside the garage within 2m/6ft of my Unifi access point (shows 100% connection). Wires are run through the wall, about 1m/3ft.
The device continually shows connected to EspHome and does show logs if the buzzer or led is turned on.
But if I use my tag it does nothing.
If I restart the device through EspHome it still does nothing.
The only way I have found that it works is to remove the power cord and then replug it in.
Is the device going through a sleep mode? Why do I have to physically repower the device.
Any thoughts would be greatl appreciated.
