So, here is the thing. This is a great (and i do mean GREAT) foundation. Its pretty amazing. More than amazing. Its wonderful. Its lightweight. Skin like. Will suit almost all skin types and has a wonderful ingredient blend.
The odd thing (really really odd) is that its the same identical formula as Smashbox Camera Ready BB Water SPF30 foundation! Now, when i say identical - i mean IDENTICAL!
Of course MAC owns Smashbox so its not a surprise but it is to me. This is the first time i've seen a complete replica!
What are your thoughts? Do you love it? Have you tried it? And do you think its naughty that you have the same formula here but MAC changes you £25.50 but Smashbox charges you £29! BUT IT'S THE SAME!!!! THE SAME!!!!

I honestly trust your opinion more than anyone else on UA-cam

+Mercedes Conway -Where are you getting your information? Pretty bold accusations & nothing to back it up. Why wouldn't Wayne get products to try out for free, every other big UA-camr does it? I COMPLETELY trust Wayne's reviews and opinions, he is honest and has never steered me wrong! If you don't agree with him, don't watch his videos and move along!
Just because someone has something to say that you don't like, or opinions that you don't agree with, doesn't mean that you can tell them not to watch, not to comment, or anything for that matter.
This is UA-cam, and a free country. Just because one does not agree with someone, doesn't mean they cannot watch their videos.
It really amazes me the amount of intolerance here in UA-cam comments when people have differing opinions, or ideas of what is fact or not. Anyone can watch any videos, by anyone, whether they agree or not. You have no right to tell them otherwise.
I don't agree that he promotes anyone who pays him, like Mercedes said, but it is still unfair the way that you have just reacted to what she had to say. If YOU don't agree with Mercedes, feel free to say so, and share your opinions on the matter, or what you believe to be fact, and move on.
+Lilboh Beat The issue shouldn't be whether she AGREES with his reviews or not - that right should be awarded to anyone. But to make negative declarative statements without providing any proof, just for the sake of talking smack...don't be surprised when someone calls you out on it. Plus, if she really does feel that way about the authenticity of his videos, why is she still on his channel? To 'warn' and protect us?
+Lilboh Beat, I can say whatever I chose & I will defend whomever I like. You can't go around making slanderous statements about people. If you don't trust a certain UA-camr then why watch the video?! She obviously made those statements to get a reaction and she got one.

I purchased this foundation two weeks ago and wore it the entire time I took a trip to New Orleans. I was so impressed with the way it stayed on during the humidity and how natural it looked! It is definitely similar to Face and Body in the way it applies and feels - I think it has a bit more coverage. Overall I am loving it!

I didn't know MAC owned SmashBox. I do not care for SmashBox products. I'm kinda over MAC the people at their counters are incredibly rude and act as if they are makeup gods, when in fact they are mostly subpar makeup artist, and really are nothing more than sales associates. I've been brand loyal to MAC since 1998, and I have started using other products in the last year, and will eventually stop using all their products.
You are literally the only person I have seen use the right shade in this. Everyone else uses a shad way too dark for their complexion!
I was just at the MAC counter and got a sample of this. I hadn't heard anything about this though. I get home and check UA-cam, and BAM! You've got a video up about it. Could not have been more perfect timing!!

Besides the price the biggest difference is that Mac has 23 shades and Smash box has 8.

Great review! I just bought this foundation a few days ago and I love it! It's so lightweight and easy to apply.
I did see the new Smashbox water bb cream and considered trying it, but I didn't realise it was more expensive and that they're sister companies. I'm so glad I bought the cheaper version for the same thing!
I'm not really fussed about MAC foundations overall but this one has peaked my interest! Looks very nice on the skin as opposed to the cakey heavy look a lot of the others have given in my experience (with the exception of face & body!)
It's an awesome foundation. Highly recommend it. They'll give you a sample to try also which is great! :)

A few important questions that didn't get answered: how was the staying power through the day? Does it control oil at all? Should we not use a beauty blender if it's too liquid? Is there flash back because of all the spf?
the lady at mac says it controls oil. One question answered. lol
+Acinomnieves3 it contains titanium dioxide as an active ingredient, so there will definitely be some flashback. Two questions answered.
+Somegirl101 titanium dioxide alone does not not cause flashback. It's when it's combined with zinc oxide that flashback occurs. Also when silica or mica are high on the ingredient list. That's why some non-spf products cause flashback as well
I've been wearing the smash box one for a few weeks now. Never noticed flash back in any photos. I have normal skin and feel like I don't need any powder with it, even where I get a bit oily. If you are oily then go ahead and set it just for reassurance. Otherwise, It lasts I'd say....6-8 hours of normal wear. If you're touching your face a lot, sweating, etc then less. It is really great and natural looking. Love it!
Also I find a brush is best. If you want, run a beauty blender over your face once it has been put on with a brush just to take off any excess product. Xo

i got this just recently when i was in the airport because my old foundation (naked by urban decay) finished (after two years!) and im really happy with this product. Its so amazing It doesnt even look like anything is on the skin
I was contemplating buying the Smashbox BB water, but I will definitely try this MAC version. Lower price for the win.

I recently bought Chanel lumiere perfection foundation and like it, but today I tried the Mac watertight foundation and absolutely loved it. I will be buying this after I use up my Chanel. Love the way it looks on my face...beautiful!
I was already contemplating getting this foundation, it actually features a shade that works for me (NW13) and has the type of consistency and coverage that I generally like for base products, but you just sold me.
I just love your reviews!!! Always honest but I won't lie you are very handsome and that accent just kills me!!! LOL
I just bought this foundation and it is really good. I have a normal to slightly combination skin that is a bit sensitive. this looked great on the skin. it is very natural which I like because I don't like full coverage looks because I feel more self conscious without makeup and if i don't wear it one day. this foundation just perfectly evens out the skin tone and cancels out the redness on my face. (I'm pretty pale and from Celtic origin so my skin gets very red) it doesn't cover up spots and stuff completely but I don't really mind because Everyone has blemishes and I like the fact they're not completely blanked out. I also like that fact that I can still see my freckes :)
I feel the same way. I'm Irish with a bit of rosacea and usually everything bothers it. This one perfectly cancels out the redness. I love, love, love this foundation.
Definitely buying this!! I love face and body and considering this is probably even lighter, I'm sold. I'm excited :D

I got this one recently! It's a bit strange with the pipette. I like how it feels very light and watery, but not so much the coverage. It does work great with a Mac Pro concealer! =)

I have this foundation and it's THE BEST! I got really oily skin and with other foundation I have to touch up after an hour, but with this Mac one I can go up to 4-5 hours before I get oily!
This was actually the first foundation i ever wore. I wanted to know what shade I was in MAC for reference to buy foundation in the future but I happened to go on the day this was released and they gave me a sample. Even without having anything to compare it to, i love it.

I got this for my birthday, and I just love it! My skin isnt perfect, i have a lot of red scars from old pimples and i had a kind of an infection once in my face, that every little cut, pimple etc started to get really ugly and ugh... Anyways, this covers almost every single one of those. Only the darkest scars are showing, so i just cover them with some concealer. And i hate, I MEAN HATE the foundations that give you a really thick look even with just one layer. But this gives the most perfect feeling to my skin!
I agree and feel exactly the same way. I had given up on foundations (I'm 55 with a few wrinkles) but with this one, I am so happy to have found it. It's just perfect .... And also, I love using MAC products. :)

I guess, these replicas happen way more often than we know since L'Oréal for example owns half of the world and products form Kérastase can easily be found in the drugstore under the brand L'oréal elvive and so on... good for us that you mentioned it!! Thanks!
I tried this at Mac today.This foundation is really runny and streaky but after blending it, the coverage looks nice.

I've now used my first full bottle of this and it is the nicest foundation I've ever used. Medium coverage, looks very natural. I have pretty dry skin but moisturize well. They have enough shades so that you can really match your skin. For $33, it's a good buy.

I want to try this foundation. I just got the #13 brush (yay!). #14 too.. Both are amazing!!! Never loved a blush brush like Miss 14! Light hand in a brush.. Way to go! ***** Those ones are the ones that I could remember off the top of my head that are involved in cosmetics. If I'm not mistaken, they have a hold on Bumble and bumble., Aveda, GLAMGLOW, Michael Kors, and La Mer as well. They should have everything on their company website.

I got a sample of this and I really didn't enjoy it! I love face and body, have used it for ages! But the coverage of the new foundation is next to nothing, I found it extremely hard to build up any layers without it going patchy and it didn't last on my skin which is combination to dry. The girl also matched me to at least 1 shade too light but nothing a bronzer couldn't fix. I would highly recommend getting a sample of this before buying it! Plus the little sample bottles are really cute!

i don't understand why wayne got a 5ml sample. Obviously the people who do promotion for MAC in the US and UK are different. But bloggers in the US with far less subscribers than Wayne get sent MAC products all the time (full size and different colours). I doubt he cares about this fact but still just something I find strange
+Aileen Fitzgerald probably cuz Wayne is not likely to rave about any product the way other youtubers do. like they would make every new product sounds like the new miracle that changes the makeup world! Whereas Wayne would always be honest and his favorite foundations have stayed the same through out the years. Like with this review it looks like he likes the foundation but its not like something he has never seen before and he is not telling you that you need it in your collection but other youtubers would make you feel that you need to buy it right now n it would change your makeup game and thats what makeup companies like to hear about their products

Nice! Glad to hear this is a dupe for the smashbox foundation. I actually bought BB water and it was lovely! however, it was too orangey for me so I returned it... BUT, I already had the Waterweight foundation so I will just start using that! Thanks Wayne x

I am glad to hear that it will work on dry skin. I was looking forward to trying the new MJ foundation but everyone said it's NOT for dry skin. That's ok, I like MAC foundations. :)

If it's a good formula then I'm glad it's a replica because they don't sell smashbox where I live.
Estee Lauder owns both Mac and Smashbox...the foundation is made and then filled into Mac and Smashbox bottles. they do exactly the same with the Smashbox primer water and the Mac charged water.
