Hi Emily! _(Mega-review)..._ ⭐️ 🎤 🎹 ⭐️ *You've captured the magic in this classic song!* ⭐️ 🎤 🎹 ⭐️ From the very first opening line; you have the audience enthralled already! Yes I love your interpretation of the classic intro to this song. You've made it clever, yet it's simple! Once again your voice is already captivating right from the start! This takes talent! Also visually, your red outfit looks so appropriate for Freddie's song! Such a nice choice for the video! 😎 With your singing, at 0:09; there's excellent vibrato control on ♫ "to love..."♪. Then at 0:12 suddenly the magic arrives with the terrific piano intro! Nice playing Emily! 🎹 😃 _Now let's rock...._ The warm texture in your voice is so irresistible when you start at 0:21 with ♫ "Each morning I get up I die a little"♪. The low register in your vocals is so compelling with your golden voice! At 0:37; ♫ "I have spent all my years"♪, sounds like you've changed the melody a tad. However at 0:45 ♫ "Somebody"♪, 🎹🎹 ♫ "ooh somebody___"♪, 🎹🎹 has a lovely running trill of notes (well that's my terminology!), which adds to a great piano arrangement. At 0:53, I like now how you're putting some more oomph and dynamics with ♫ "somebody to love...."♪. It's duly noted here too, how you're using the bottom end of the piano hitting those bass sounding keys. This adds dramatic impact and interest to your keyboard skills! 😊 In the second verse from 1:03, it's interesting how you add your own little subtleties; giving the song your own style flare! I also like how you look up at the camera at 1:18, giving the listener recognition as you portray this song! "Hey go Freddie!" at 1:29 at ♫ "ooh somebody"♪. The way you seem to 'lift' the note on ♫ "..body-eh"♪, is terrific!❗️ You even manage to throw in a trill of top end notes again, which seem to flow underneath your vocals. I like how you start to put strength in your voice, in the phrase at 1:36 with: ♫ "Somebody to love!"♪; which is superb controlled singing, plus a nice sustaining of the note on "Love." 🎤 Bravo! Then on the bridge; excitement happens next!.... At 1:40 we get energy and magic introduced to the song! You also give wonderful interactive eye contact to the camera throughout the whole bridge! The way you sing at 1:48 ♫ "But everybody wants to put me down"♪, is fantastic as you express the lyrics in the song; turning this into a spellbound performance! 🙂 At 1:56, it's terrific again with: ♫ "They say I got a lot of water in my brain"♪, and the interaction on how you look at the camera. In fact the way you perform and portray the whole of the bridge, is truly pure brilliance! This is sensational performing! 👍 There's such gifted talent pouring into the song! Now at 2:11 you execute your piano skills magnificently in this solo. (Freddie would be proud!). Then when you resume at 2:31; ♫ "ooh somebody; somebody"♪; the lush rich texture in the register of your vocals is outstanding! What an awesome voice you have! 😊 (plus you throw in the trill of piano notes as a bonus!). The way you sing: ♫ "Somebody to love"♪, at 2:41, is quite remarkable! Astonishing singing Emily! ⭐️ At 2:59 ♫ "I'm okay, I'm alright"♪; shows expression and fine camera interaction; let alone some great dynamics on: ♫ "I ain't gonna face no defeat"♪. At 3:27, there's some nice arpeggio with your piano arrangement. Then.... At 3:32 I was wondering "will she do it?"; _and you do!..._ ♫"Find me somebody to lo-ve"♪, ♫"Find me somebody to lo-ve"♪, ♫"Find me somebody to lo-ve"♪, _(__3:40__, oh wow! such expression here)_ ♫"Find me somebody to lo-ve"♪, _(__3:44__, now with more dynamics)_ Just when I wished you kept going (as it was sounding so good); at 3:48 you slip back to: ♫ "Can anybody find me"♪. Incidentally speaking of _'love'_ ; I just love the way you get animated and jive and really get into the track in this section, whilst you perform and sing! You really draw us into this performance! Then at 3:53; ♫ "Somebody to--- love---"♪, is pure brilliance on how you finish off the song! 👍 The long awaited smile is at 4:16. 😁 (I'd be smiling too after delivering that superb performance!) _In conclusion..._ You have really given this song such a blast! Plus you definitely get a standing ovation from us! Bravo! You took on a challenge and task to manage covering this song with just you and the piano (plus "performing live" is a great feat in itself!). It takes skill and a certain flare to pull off "Somebody To Love" like this and you've done it proudly! 😊 As said earlier what is impressing, is how you've significantly captured the magic in this classic song! So for us, it's such an awesome delight, as we sit back and get to see you perform it "live" here on UA-cam! 🎥 What a refreshing talent you have! 😃 *What an outstanding performance!* This is charming and compelling! "Rock on Freddie!" _A question (but only if you wish to answer).. What are your favorite top performances here you like so far?_
Hi Steve 👋, oh man, this one is over the top, isn’t it!? Your review is awesome again, as usual, but I wouldn’t expect anything less. That bridge, where she partially talks and sings just kills! Everything about this one is over the top. You were so right about it all. I love her timing/phrasing in the parts that the original has echoes in, just outstanding. Also, like you said, she is looking into the camera much more than she used to do. That started with the Tom Petty song. It’s a real treat to everyone isn’t it?!
Hi Brad! Thanks again for the review compliment! 😁 Yes it is a treat, how she plays into the camera more now; as this is an interaction that involves the listener to be more intimately involved in the performance! Emily did it brilliantly in this cover! She loves Freddie; so I'm sure she enjoyed performing it for us! 😊 If she ever decides to cover "Don't Stop Me Now" for a fun video change-up; I can just envision her standing at the piano giving the song a rocking blast! Now that would be an awesome video! 😃
Hi Emily! You are so welcome! You really captured the magic in your performance! 😊 (I'm so glad you love Queen and The Beatles!) I have another song suggestion... I don't know what you think about covering: *We Are The Champions?* I think you could make it work quite well with just you and the piano. 🎤 🎹
I love "Don't stop me now"! I certainly would like to learn it in the future. I can't promise to play standing up though. I might need to learn Elton John's "I'm still standing" first 😂 "We are the champions" is another great suggestion!
Somebody To Love . Fantastic Emily . You will ALWAYS have somebody to love !!! Everyone that hears your music and sees your smile will love you !!!!!!!!!!!!! Great song . Well done Alistair. X.
Emily, I only wish that I had found & subscribed to your channel even sooner ❤️ Your voice is absolutely beautiful & seems to always touch my heart & my soul as well 😢 Wishing you continued success Emily & may you continue to always be blessed 🙏🕊️🕊️🕊️
Wow this is one of your younger song that I’ve heard. I must say I really enjoyed the enthusiasm and personality you captured in this cover. You’ve come a long way in so short a time. This is one of my favorites by you. ❤
:) Love seeing Freddie Mercury getting covered still. :) We don't want to see Queen die off over the years and decades. :) We need future generations to behold the wonder that was Freddie. :)

What a pleasant surprise to see that you were doing another song - and quite a song to do as well. But you certainly gave it the full Emily treatment. Would agree with previous comments about the special tone and quality your voice has. Look forward to more.😀
Emily, I loved your performance of this song, one of Queen's greatest. And to sing it and play it so skillfully at the same time shows extra talent. It certainly wasn't boring! Thank you.
Hi Emily, I could never have imagined anybody else singing Freddie's song, now, I just love your version, your vocal range is so extended, you've re-created the magic in this song!
Nowhere close to boring Emily. What you did on this cover is simply amazing. Such perfect vocals and piano accompaniment on a such a classic and very difficult song. Just pure talent. 10/10 to me.

You do this so good. You were a real charmer back then , somethings never change. I request candles in the wind. I think it's a John Elton songs done for Marilyn Monroe.

Oh my goodness Emily, I am listening to this performance with a huge smile on my face. You are getting really good, I mean REALLY good! You're on a roll young lady, so glad I found your channel 🌹
Hi, your singing voice is incredible! This is another complex song that you've done wonderfully well with. Your vocals are always strong and true, I really enjoy your performances and truly appreciate your talents. I think you could do an incredibly good Hey Jude, or perhaps Let it Be....maybe something to think about at some point? Take care, Emily...
The master himself once said "you can do whatever you like with my music, just don't make it boring". I presume that is what you are referring to in your description. Trust me, you couldn't make anything sound boring as this performance has once again demonstrated. This was your best performance yet. Both your singing and piano playing are improving with each song. I really enjoy your collaborations. I keep going back to play the Abbey Road medley. Fantastic. For the future, you might want to consider a collaboration with Karolina Protsenko. She's a Ukrainian violinist (about the same age as you) living in America mostlymade famousfor her street performancs . Like you, she's full of life and soul. I think the two of you would make a really interesting video. Anyway, I want to go back to playing your video again. Stay safe.
I would describe you as many things, but boring is not one of them. you are so talented, and your performances are very enjoyable. I do believe, as you mature, you will grow and evolve into whatever you want to be. I am thrilled to be along for the ride.
Great work Emily! You are willing to take on songs done by singers who are very hard to cover, such as Freddie Mercury and earlier Karen Carpenter. Your singing and interpretation are excellent as always and especially like your piano arrangement on this one.
You did it again -- I'm addicted to your music - covers, originals and collaborations alike. Your clarity and control of both the piano and your vocals is extraordinary and your phrasing is purposeful and heartfelt.
