I just did this to my 73 TR6 - worked great!!! Thanks for showing us all how to do it. Figured I would have issues, but it really was a piece of cake to do once you get the channel out of the door......
getting ready to do this to my 56 F100 project truck. I never thought about the techniques you used which should make this go smoother for me. Thanks for taking the time to share this.
Hi I have just put my tr4a window guides back in with new felt found them to be a nightmare trying to move the glass up and down, then I melted candle wax on the new felt and whoosh they worked. Do enjoy watching you guys.
Thx Weg..Im going make window seals for my sliding windows in my camper van but Im going non-adhesive. Putting a thin layer of rubber cement in the channel. Insert felt then insert glass. Gives me time to position the felt if needed and let dry overnight. We will see if I permanently glue my windows shut..lol 10’ each window, I have two to do. The factory replacement was a big no go! Great idea..
Thanks for the tip Weg 😁I just replaced them on my TR6, and as you said, i will stick to everything 🙁😑. It cost me 36 danish kroner, which is about 3-4 dollars 😀A long way up to 320 dollars. Keep up with the nice TR4 👍
also you can buy just auto-window felt and the adhesive will work better in a car, and probably cheaper than the velcro. the velcro adhesive has a tendency to get goopy in a car in direct sun in my experience, although it will probably be fine, the felt would probably last longer and work better.
If the windows are a bit too stiff to roll up with the new velcro try putting a bit of wd40 along the vertical edges and it should loosen up nicely. Where are you guys sourcing most of your parts for this project.... TRF, Moss or VB??

Did mine about 13 years ago and it’s held up fine. Same thing. Velcro.
