Eating Bibimbap at Gwangjang Market & Other Korean Street Food

This week we head to one of the best spots for delicious Korean street food: Gwangjang Market! I give you a walking tour of the four main routes, revealing where to eat:
+ jeon (savory Korean pancakes)
+ soondae (blood sausages)
+ bindaetteok/nokdujeon (mung bean pancakes)
+ mandu (dumplings)
+ mayak kimbap (drug rolls)
+ shikhye (Korean rice drink)
+ desserts and more!
After burning a couple calories, we head over to the bibimbap stalls to enjoy a filling bowl of barley rice topped off with various seasoned vegetables. Spicy, slightly sweet, and completely tasty :)

5:15 Mina when you enter the hanbok market. When i saw inside of it, it made me cry. That is the same hanbok market i went to in 2003 and got my 1st one. It was the one my grandparents saw me in. Theu have both passed away now. I miss them so much. 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢

I just realized that you gave a description of items in your comment section, but it would be GREAT if you explained what the Korean items are as your walking along. Bibimbap is so delicious! Sadly, I can't get all the "traditional" ingredients where I live now but I make my own with other ingredients available here. As long as you have sesame oil and gochujang, it tastes pretty similar and it's SO GOOD! ^^

I had a bad experience there... the food was not delicious and so expensive as well
was there something actually wrong with the food? or was it not good because maybe you don't appreciate flavors you're not used to eating? Even so, theres a hundred different shops in there. Maybe you chose the shitty one because you don't know what you're doing in there. Don't badmouth an entire market because you ate a bad piece of fish. Its food. Those things happen sometimes, especially when eating streetfood. Thats the gamble. Stick to Burger King if you want it your way.

I'm American and route and root are homophones for me too. I think it's a difference. She's from the West and I'm from the Southeast. She also says roof much differently than I would. But it's not uncommon

I was in Gwangjang Market myself August 8, 2016. Many food stalls. I settled on lunch from the food stall in the middle intersection, ordered haemul pajeon, and took back to my hotel to eat. Very good. I wanted to go back for another visit, but my vacation only lasted 8 days, so many things to see, such limited time.
