I was literally looking for “Mastersounds” the radio station from gta San Andreas, i have never been so grateful for clicking the wrong link in my life
i agree this cat is awesome. They all are- I'm also a big fan of Jimmy James- he plays with Delvon Lamaar Organ Trio and also The True Loves. He's so funky he should come with a warning label and a gas mask. check them out!
I’ll be honest with you guys...there’s a lot, I mean ALOT of pure spirit in the form of raw musical energy bouncing back and forth between everyone in the group. It is so fluid and smooth, like honey baby. Pure honey. Seriously I can hear years and years of play all coming together and so much good vibes and emotion being expressed. This to me is probably the only thing I’ve seen that I can call “feel good music” music is supposed to be uplifting to the spirit. Keep up the good works I’m gonna watch for your live shows if you ever come to Toronto and area. Thank you for this as well. Your all super talented musicians and I had a blast listening to this.
Just happened across this.... blown away! I love it. So good to see someone sounding like 'old quality' but also new to my ears. Groovin' like MoFos Sitting so well together.
I love the drummer. I really impressed with camara person. Because he shows the drummer.!it is very helpful to see it up close. It is awesome !!! I’m a fan for LIFE
Had never heard of them, but saw these guys live last weekend and they blew the roof off the place! What a funk and groove they have going on, and EVERYONE was dancing. How have these guys been around for so long and I've never heard of them? Thanks for a great show in Hartford CT. I have added New Mastersounds to my "Favorite Bands" list!
In concert at Saint Paul trois Chateaux in France this summer to the soul festival; it was really a great session and i discovered this band! big mojo ;-)
Traveled from Australia to New Orleans primarily to see their late night set. Oh and "Jazz Fest" was on. There is a lot of music in that city. NMS hold it up high.
Shayne Farquhar You do have to travel these days to find the good stuff. I flew from LA to London to see Neil Hubbard play, went to NYC to catch Cornell Dupree just before he died and traveled to Montego Bay for Ernest Ranglin. They aren’t gonna come to you.
I really hope these guys get back to touring. Freckles is my new favorite song. Any show near Arizona and I'll be there. Screaming like a girl at a Beatles concert. 😁😉
Got to see them last year for the first time, what a funky band! Especially love Eddie, a terrific guitar player. Please guys, make another trip to the east coast from the UK! Great post!
Will see them again at The Fillmore this Friday. I can't wait. Saw them last year at The Independent and they did not disappoint. Also just saw Greyboy Allstars last Friday at Independent which was awesome.

The New Mastersounds are a British four-piece jazz fusion and blues/funk band from Leeds, England. Over the last 16 years, they have issued ten studio albums, two live dates, two remix collections, and a compilation album. ~ History ---> In the late 1990s, guitarist and producer Eddie Roberts was running a club night in Leeds called The Cooker. When The Cooker moved into a new venue with a second floor in 1999, there was space and the opportunity to put a live band together to complement the DJ sets. Simon Allen and Roberts had played together in 1997 as The Mastersounds, with a different bassist and no organ. Through friends and the intimate nature of the Leeds music scene, Pete Shand and Bob Birch joined the band on bass and Hammond organ respectively, establishing The New Mastersounds. Their first rehearsal produced a release for Blow it Hard Records on two limited-edition 7" singles in 2000. ~ As a band, and as individuals, the New Mastersounds have collaborated with an array of musicians DJs and producers, including: Soul Rebels Brass Band, Lou Donaldson (Blue Note), Corinne Bailey Rae (EMI), Quantic (Tru Thoughts), Carleen Anderson (Young Disciples / Brand New Heavies), Keb Darge & Kenny Dope (Kay Dee Records), John Arnold (Ubiquity), Mr Scruff (Ninja Tuna), Snowboy (Ubiquity), Fred Everything (2020 Vision), Andy Smith (Portishead), James Taylor (JTQ), LSK (Faithless), and Karl Denson (Lenny Kravitz, Greyboy AllStars). ~ In 2006, as well as playing club gigs in France, Spain, Belgium and Italy, the band toured the US and Japan. In August, they finished recording their fifth album, 102% (released on One Note Records in 2007). The album featured collaborations with sax and flute player Rob Lavers, who went on to perform as a guest with the band on several subsequent tours. Also during 2006, producer/guitarist Eddie Roberts released a live album in Japan (Roughneck - Live in Paris), and produced a studio album of his own arrangements of traditional Italian songs called Trenta. ~ On their first Jamcruise, in 2007, the NMS played Meters tunes with George Porter, Jr. sitting in. On their return to the UK, a capacity crowd at London's Jazz Cafe was on hand for the album launch of 102%. The band also performed tunes from the new album for Mark Lamarr on BBC Radio Two. Organist Bob Birch reluctantly retired from the band due to commitments at home, and Eddie, Simon, and Pete brought in another Leeds keyboard player, Joe Tatton, who had subbed for Bob in the past as well as worked with UK soul star Corinne Bailey Rae and The Haggis Horns. Joe's real initiation took place in April with the band's first trip to New Orleans, during which they played at the House of Blues and the Blue Nile and where Eddie sat in to play with Idris Muhammad, Lonnie Smith, Galactic, Papa Mali, and The Greyboy Allstars. Having enjoyed good receptions at the Wakarusa, Harmony, Gratefulfest, and High Sierra Music Festivals, the NMS traveled to Chicago at the end of July to play at Wicker Park and to open for The Headhunters. ~ After a break, the NMS regrouped in October for a two-week tour of France, during which they rediscovered the joy of the original four-piece NMS sound: bass, drums, guitar, and Hammond. ~ On the record front, German label Légère Recordings released their compilation An Introduction to The New Mastersounds on CD and LP in May 2007, while Milan-based record label Record Kicks put together an album of NMS tunes remixed by a host of talented underground funk and beats producers. That album, The New Mastersounds - Re::Mixed was released on CD, LP, and iTunes on 15 October 2007. ~ The NMS has issued eight albums since 2007. Their most recent, Renewable Energy, was recorded in New Orleans and Denver and released in 2018. The band continues to tour and perform. ~ upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/c/c8/NMS-Equifunk-2009-PhrazzPix.JPG

Being a drummer, ...this is one of the finest grooves to get behind, Wide as the Grand Canyon!!!! Love at first site and have followed you for years!
What an amazing show. Who are the 12 that could possibly give this a thumbs down?
Those 12 are looking for a 2nd POV to cutaway to. 2 hrs is a long stretch to watch a single camera setup in B/W.
@@stevehogeIf that's what you're focused on, you're doing it wrong.
@@ajschroetlin2196 WTF I'm just watching, it's called viewer fatigue!
These guys kill it live. Go see them.
Very nice production here.
Will see them again at The Fillmore this Friday. I can't wait. Saw them last year at The Independent and they did not disappoint. Also just saw Greyboy Allstars last Friday at Independent which was awesome.
