something of a show and tell today with an unboxing and showcase of my new computer that i built piece by piece. initially i was going to get something a bit cheaper and honestly was just going to go with a pre-built, but the more i kept going back and forth between companies and their specific options, the more i realized that what i really wanted was something that i would have to put together myself. and so here i am.
a key thing about this computer is that the cpu and gpu will both be undervolted and will never be run at full balls to the wall mode, so the 240 cooler and 850w psu will easily be enough to handle the loads i throw at it. (:
im happy to see this! i built my first pc in 2020 w my stimulus money lol, was a great choice. pc building has improved my life and kickstarted me towards my programming career not to mention amazing fps on fps games 😂 happy new year! 🎉 god bless and may you succeed this year

Cool. I've got a Lian Li case too. So much easier building with cases made for cable management and seperate compartments for PSU and all that. Mine looks so neat and clean looking.

I did a similar build not too long ago, so satisfying, I was going to get the RTX as well, but I opted for READON instead for an easier Linux experience. I found installing the CPU really easy with the hydro cooler installation. Whoa! did I said hydro? time for a toke!

You will absolutely need a 1000 watt power supply for that 4080. I had an 850 with a 3080 and my PC would self shut off from not enough power. Luckily it’ll be an easy swap.
it is an atx 3.0 power supply, so no i definitely will not need any more than this for my undervolted 4080 and undervolted 7700x cpu.

very nice. I remember like 5 or so years ago I was in a CSGO match and you happened to be in the same game on the enemy team. I asked in chat if you were the real tokindaily and you said something like cheers back. I checked the steam profile and it was actually you lol. I think I still have a screenshot somewhere of it.

I feel like for that cpu and gpu a more powerful mobo would have been ideal but if you're undervolting you'll be fine.

If i look right you dont use the offset mount for your liquid freezer II on amd 7000th gen. Pls look into the manual from arctic for amd offset mount. =)
i used the top set of holes, as far as i can tell it is exactly as the online manual instructs. if you have a link with further/clarifying info feel free to post it

How are the cpu temps on that 240mm aio paul? I also highly recommend undervolting the cpu as you can get more performance with less power draw.
yup both cpu and gpu will be undervolted. still havent done it yet but will probably get around to fine tuning that this weekend. i only do light-load things (1080p non raytraced gaming) so temps are easily managed with the 240 (:

Blowin on Crystal Cookies today from Zach&Ted's. Some ultra mega!!! 33% thc!!! 38% total cannabinoids!!!! Got it from Perfect Union. A fine dispensary in Marysville, CA.
Strongest flower i seen there was NF1 from White Label i think, clocking in at something like 42% total cannabinoids.
Pls just remove the 2 metal plates below the GPU and install (without the plates) 2x 120 or 140mm fans. This is the main thing about this case, you will get up to 10°C better GPU Temps. Check out the tests over toms hardware or kitgurutech.
