- This Porsche 964 Turbo 3.6 in Amethyst Metallic came to us for dry ice cleaning, paint correction, new ppf stoneguards, and a deep interior cleaning and detailing. What do you think of this color?
We dry ice blasted the undercarriage, engine bay, and wheel wells before we detailed this amazing paint back to near-perfection. We replaced the emblem with a new OEM replacement Turbo 3.6 emblem, and dove right in to this gorgeous interior

30 years old and still my favorite Porsche of all time. I was 16 and ‘93 and this car was the stuff of dreams
I turned 24 late in 93. This car was the stuff of dreams even back in the seventies when I was a little kid and I would see one drive down our main road. Porsche: there is no substitute.
I had a miniature of a 993 Carrera S in exactly this color (scale 1/24). I've kept it in perfect condition for almost 25 years, until one day my 2 year old nephew decided to take it secretly and play with it. One screen wiper and 2 wheels broken. It was metallic and with good build quality, you cannot find such models anymore.
It happens with toddlers, I forgave him, apparently the parents have responsibility who let them touch other objects which do not belong to them.
As for the video now, amazing car and exquisite job as always!

Solido makes this in a 1/18 for $50. Would recommend.
Amethyst metallic paint with Cognac interior is my favorite configuration by far.

@@IAMDetailing was a rare option back in the days and often came with beige leather upholstery! And even after 920.000km it looks awesome because it’s a tri-color ! I really love the car 😊

This is an absolutely beautiful 911. I would love to know what color that is.
Someone once suggested red as perfect colour for a Porsche, I couldn’t have disagreed more, images of obnoxious yuppies zooming around the city in the 80s came to mind (I was there) Then they said Arena red as in the clip above, not the notorious Guards red. I fell in love with colour instantly, this is the only ‘Red’ I’d order a 911 in because it isn’t really red. There’s a solid and mature elegance this colour has that just suits that iconic 911 silhouette down to a tee. It reminds me of catching sight of a 911 turbo in dark metallic purple and as wild as that sounds it looked magnificent. Ironic that my favourite 2 colours of 911 carry hues of Red that I consider as not befitting the 911 image.

what an extraordinary transformation. sorry about separate msg's. i am the only person who has touched his 993 turbo since he bought it. i was a detailer at a dealership then ran the department but reconning a used altima to put on the lot is not a detail. i did alot of friends cars back then. we were all into cars but i was halfway thru my 9 year auto carrer when the clay bar was comman practice. the 993 is unclear-coated and the paint ranges from 2.5 to 7 mils on his car never having paint work for any reason so no high speed polisher has come near it. watching this and comparing it to what i do is like saying a snikers bar is like a filet mignon. ive never removed anything except the wheels. so im wondering if the 964 job here is a flat rate or does it vary at all depending on the condition. the ice blast is too cool to wap my head around. also what state are you in ? thanks

The work and results are fantastic. But cleaning all the leaky hoses is quite deceptive if the owner wants to sell it as well maintained. Then again if it's going to the shop next , the mechanics might have cleaner surfaces to work with.
It's actually called Arena Red and it's stunning in person. You may know it from Porsche's "kills bugs fast" poster in the 90's.

@@jordan5881 it also leans towards purple but not so much as this. Arena red could also be had on the 996 afaik.

Dripping cleaner on gauges at 10:11.
Wrong brushes on clear and/or delicate plastics.
I watch for the dry ice cleaning but some of the other processes relating to interior detailing cause more damage than good.
I’ve never personally done paint correction myself, so I’m genuinely curious. Wouldn’t it be good to wear a mask 😷 to limit the amount of particles being breathed in?
