I love her… I don’t know why I waited so long to watch these. She’s a great teacher. She’s giving me a lot of tips and tricks. I think she’s cute and you’re right you can be any age I’m actually older than she is I think by the way those brownish things are those scrapers.
I have been binging your videos for a couple days now. You've helped me take my artwork in a completely new direction. You just won me over when you put that lipstick on. I don't wear lipstick, but that made me realize you don;t take yourself too seriously. I appreciate that. I also love you simplistic style that revolves around the power of neutrals. Thank you for all of this great info!
Thanks Adele. I am in lockdown in Sydney and I have reached a time in my life where I can really start to work as a painter. You are a breath of fresh air. Love your techniques and the subtlety of your paintings. Love your glasses too. Oh my china pencils are arriving today,
Thank you so much. ..I love your videos and saw most of them back to back. Could you please tell about varnishing and heat curing acrylic painting with heavy body?
SO helpful! "seeing" outside the box. Before throwing stuff away i find myself asking "how can i use this is art?" the plastic wrap is one of my favorite texture tools. Thanks very much for the video!!!
I should have checked yoru description first! I took notes all the way through! LoL..thank you so much for inspiring me. I want to get back into painting and use diverse implements. I'll finally enjoy bumming around in Home Depot with hubby :)
The pinkish color trio of 'spreaders' are used in automotive for spreading bondo on body panels. My husband is in auto restoration and I stole a couple of his ;-) They are great for spreading gesso and pastes and making texture and lines.
Thank you for your pecious demonstrations! I have two questions: when you use oil pastels on the acrylics or vice-versa, does it get dry or do you have to use a fixative after finishing the artwortk? Is the gloss medium the same as the transparent acrylic base that is also used for collage?
Dear Adele, your videos are fabulous! I just have a question: is there a difference when you paint on paper or on canvas? What different effects it gives?
Hi Adele! Thanks for sharing. What material are those grey palettes you use? Also you speak of a China black pencil; never hear of it in the UK....is there another more generic name for it? Thanks.
I think people get caught up in the left brain vs. the right brain fight and overthink to the point of being too intimidated to create an abstract piece. So, I would like to know your opinion regarding the “meaning” of abstract pieces.
I agree with you that most of the time artists have a tendency to overthink and that can ruin the process. The meaning of abstract art is, of course different for everyone, but for me it is a compilation of colors and design put down in a way that pleases the eye. To me it is about beauty and it doesn’t conjure up anything in particular. If it is pleasing then it means something to me. 🌸
Thank you for you reply. In the past, my drawings/paintings were all “normal” detailed pieces. Recently I’ve begun to explore more with an abstract mindset. I give family and friends paintings, but not everyone understands their “meaning.” I’ve tried to explain it’s a concept of creating something I’m proud of, and it doesn’t have to mean anything. It’s the joy of a finished product to which I’m proud to sign my name. The last gift was given to my dad. He’s NOT an abstract kinda guy, and I read his face of disappointment when he opened the gift. I told him I’m trying to broaden his horizons, and it’s something I proudly created. I joked and told him to make sure to pull it out of the closet when I visit. His answer? “I may have to.”😕 (he wasn’t joking though). His reaction hasn’t stopped me from experimenting and creating though. 🙂
Jana Gifford Hang in there! I’ve just gotten into art & surprised by how much I love the freedom of abstract art! Never really paid it much attention, but it now tugs at my heart strings, probably because I’m so exact & such a perfectionist in other areas of my life. So the freedom of abstracts, even if no one else “gets it”, is reward enough to me. 💗😊
Dee H thank you. 🙂. I can create realism as well as abstracts. I enjoy them both, but abstracts allow for more freedom and a “go with the flow” feeling. I never know what the end product will be until I’m done. That’s why I love abstracts!!
I just recently discovered your videos and I have watched a few. In the into, I see small clear bottles with what appears to be droppers. What is in the bottles? Thank you.

I am an artist myself based in Melbourne. I love your passion taking about tools and put the lips stick at the end. 😍
Blown away by the tool possibilities! 😍 I love the cheap options! Just need creativity! 😍
Think in terms of how else you can use the tools. That should help. 🌸
Lama, thanks for the compliment about the glasses. I love them too.

They are some of my favorite tools. Great to know the name, thank you. 🌸

👌 Thank you.

I typically let them dry first and then go over them with a coat of acrylic medium. Hope this helps. 🌸
What palettes do you use?
Adele I love your glasses
Hi Adele! what are your palettes made of? Thanks for your awesome tutorials, great inspo for a beginner :)
I like to use strings dipped in paint and drag it or drop it on the canvas and then lift it away from the canvas.
That’s a great idea. Will happily try that soon. 🌸
Dear Adele, your videos are fabulous! I just have a question: is there a difference when you paint on paper or on canvas? What different effects it gives?
Thanks so much Chessa.

Do you have any issues with oil “we never actually dry” pastels collecting crud in storage, or sealing them up?
I don’t have any issues with these oil pastels. They stay open and available all the time.
Hellow, when you apply lipstick, how does you seal it to prevent faded?
Thank you for your videos, you are a Great teacher
I would seal it with medium. Thanks for the kind words. 🌸
🌹
Do you spray fixative over the lipstick marks between layers or at the end?
Great ideas - how do you integrate oil pastels - which never dry - with the acrylics?
When I use oil pastels I put a coat of medium over them to seal it. Sometimes it takes two light coats, but this has always worked for me. 🌸
Found the name for tools on 4:32 - Bondo Spreader
Oh yea! Thanks so much. 🌸
Love your videos. I don’t see the link for the PDF tool list. I would like know what brand of china markers you use. Thank you 😊
Hello jerilyn
How to you get started in abstract?
You can basically use anything to go for love for painting
nice video madam
Adèle please pdf sheet for ideas
Where can I buy this antique brush?
I really don’t know. I bought it on a trip to Amsterdam years ago. 🌸
I found three in a market in Paris.

Hello Joanna

The small bottles are filled with ink. I don’t use them very often though. 🌸
