- Tina Turner, one of the top recording artists of all time, has died at age 83. She died peacefully after a long illness in her home in Küsnacht near Zurich, Switzerland. In April 1993, she spoke to CBC’s Deborah Goble about her career and what she hopes the future may bring.

It's like she wanted to be retired before she was REALLY ready to do it. We "the people" were never going to let her go. She had to decide to walk away from her stage persona. That has to be the most rewarding exit ever for an artist. To know you were appreciated and loved by the world ❤
