It's unfortunate for all the equines Mexico and southwards through S. America (with some exceptions of Central America) are treated and trained with force and pain, unlike the accepted "Pressure and Release" of North America...
These southern locations are also known to work their horses really hard... They suffer from arthritis early on, and can have severe laminitis and sold for slaughter when most northern horses are still in their prime... It's sad these majestic and giving animals aren't treated with more compassion and understanding.

Very interesting information about these impressive animals. Thank you for sharing the breed caricaturists and advantages related to their work accomplishments.

So sad the horses can't swat flys since their tails have been cut off. Must be a torment for them😢

What does this video have to do with breeding draft horses? Wrong title. Great general information about draft horses.

It's for safety. Ever seen a horse gets its tail caught in equipment?

Jo Allan My point was more, "It's really horrible." It's common for many working animals to have their tails docked.

Docking is a barbaric practice, end of.

For God's sake, put some Fly Spray on those animals!! Their "missing" tails means they can't fight against the biting flies and causes them great frustration, discomfort and pain from the bites!! Don't tie their heads so tight to the point they can't use their heads to also fight off the relentless flies!! AND, you call yourselves horse experts?? Ha.

Draft horses have been bred overly tall in recent decades purely for aesthetics. The original working draft horse was seldom over 16 hands high. The shorter horse, in the 14 to 16 hand range, is a far better Working horse, as a lower center of gravity makes for a far more efficient puller. The Amish of Ohio purposely bred their Belgians back to a 15 1/2 hand horse by crossing Belgian mares on much smaller Haflinger stallions about 20 years ago. These smaller Belgians are about the size of draft horses used daily, a century ago, when draft horses were True work horses, not Show horses bred to impress through size.

Dapple and rose gray aren't colors, horses like the Percheron with greying genes go white as they age and dapple and rose grey are just stages of greying
