Вставка
- Опубліковано 6 сер 2023
- Today Jim, Brenda, & the draft horses are raking hay and hauling round bales. Jim is wrapping the bales with his new bale wrapper. After that, we wanted to weigh up Duke & Earl and see how much they have grown over the summer in the pasture. We also share Bree's training session.. she is growing and doing well!!
Watch our videos to learn about draft horses- horse logging, horse farming, and horse training! Jim uses Belgian, Percheron, and Suffolk horses to do work on the farm and in the woods. He teaches about harnesses, horse-drawn logging and farming equipment, horse feeding and maintenance, and voice commands for horses. New videos uploaded every week. Keep watching to see how Jim trains his new Suffolk Punch colts as he has trained his full-grown teams!

Jim going to have some amazing work horses when he starts to train Duke and Earl along with how Baron is learning. Bree is so darn cute
I was thinking the same thing. I hope they catch on as fast as Barron.
Yes the horses are beautiful. All the horses did well today. Thank you for taking the time to film.
It's such a treat being invited to share all your wonderful videos, today included. The horses are a treat to watch, all of them. We don't own horses, but it's heartwarming to watch the love you both have for them, and you can definitely tell the feeling is mutual from the horses, Bree included. Her trust for Jim is a wonderful sight to behold, even while Lady is voicing her concern when she's out of view!! 💕
Watching the two of you is such a pleasure. The horses are so good and seem to be very comfortable with both of you. Thank you so much for sharing your time with us. I appreciate the times where I can relax and enjoy a cup of tea and dream of someday getting this life. 😄 Wishing you a wonderful rest of the day! 👍❤
Is anyone else thoroughly impressed by how proficient Baron has become in a short amount of time? He’s so smart and with Jim as his mentor look what he’s become!
I am very impressed too, but...... when Jim went to get Duke and Earl we got a look at their sire, father of all 3. He is a working stallion, quiet, and was in a big shed living and working with a mare buddy, most impressive big bay I ever saw.
So along with Jim's know-how, Baron seems blessed with his genetic memory, no doubt hundreds of generations of such work.

I'm,
Jim&Brenda I enjoy the way you two work together just as much as the Horses. Just the God wants it🙏
They are all such good horses. It's obvious they love and respect Jim
All the horses are looking really healthy and are so well behaved, thank you for sharing with us!
I've long admired the Suffolk breed but never saw one until yours. They seem to have good minds. They are beautiful and in such good condition! Love how Bree is coming along and enjoying your slow and steady training progress with her. It shows in her trust of you! Thanks for your videos 😊
I'm so glad we got to see Duke and Earl. They're gaining good weight. Such pretty horses!! Little Bree does so well trusting you and following wherever you lead her! By the time she's of working age she will already know what the working commands are! She will be one fine horse!❤
I totally agree!
I don't think I'm the only one who'd like a "Brenda Brushing Horses for 30 Minutes" video. I miss brushing my aunt's Belgian team. I found it very calming.
another winner and great for the archives... it's beautiful what you've done with these horses in a year... congrats 🎶and thank you..
Duke and Earl are turning into real big lads they have really grown and filled out. It will be interesting seeing how they do when you start to train them. Bree is just the most beautiful little filly ever. All your horses are a credit to both of you. Here in the U.K. we would love to have a healthy amount of Suffolk horses they are on the endangered list with us which is real worry.
Duke and Earl look so great for not being brushed in awhile. Beautiful coat. Bree just keeps growing and her mane looks like a mohawk being so light that it looks cute on her. She is so beautiful. Glad you got to do the raking and bailing plus wrapping before the rain came Jim. God bless you Jim and Brenda.
Hello Brenda and Jim, gosh Bree is getting big so quickly but then again her mom Lady is very big...Lady is such a beautiful mare, one of the prettiest lve ever seen.Brenda your hair looks so pretty too.All the very best dear friends ❤
Hey it's quite interesting to read your comments post & I like your point of view. would mind if we exchange a few convos?
All of your horses look great and the Colts are growing up in work horses . You should be proud because of the job you have done training is really showing off. Bree is gorgeous and growing fast. She is learning quickly during her short sessions. I was worried when momma was crying out when Jim lead her away but she followed right along with you.
I would love to see the bale wrapping with your M/F 155 they were great tractors to work on when I was at the farm equipment dealership. Loved hearing the rain on the roof reminds me of my grandpa's farm with the tin roof. Stay safe and God bless.
I was reading the title in my phone and was really happy haha yeah raking hay, so chill after a days work, it's evening in the Netherlands. Thanks for the video 😊
Thank you for sharing. Beautiful horses. Looks like Bree has the Suffolk Punch character, so willing, calm, and smart. I was watching a channel that was featuring Suffolks and they showed some videos of you, Jim, working with the colts. You’re UA-cam famous.l
cool hawk!
Love hayfield time, as always, and it's always nice to see those gentle, well-fed, well-treated horses looking so sleek and fat and happy. (PS Brenda your hair was exceptionally nice today; love the braids and the volume!)
They are so very shiny,. Absolutely beautiful
I always enjoy the drone footage! That bird seemed a little confused when you were above it til it flew off!! Lol!! Nice you get your hands on the reins sometimes, Brenda! I'm sure Jim enjoys the break so he can do other things! When I lived on a farm, I wanted so bad to partner with my husband & work with him...but it never happened...So it's good to see you guys work together!
What a team! The horses are pretty good too!
I could watch Bree and Lady all day. I’m amazed at how big Bree has gotten in a short period of time.
Suffolks look so healthy ❤
Hey it's quite interesting to read your comments post & I like your point of view. would mind if we exchange a few convos?
It's amazing how fast foals grow.

Those horses are so well behaved, love watching ❤
Hey it's quite interesting to read your comments post & I like your point of view. would mind if we exchange a few convos?
The two colts are so beautiful awesome horses.
Your 2nd cut looks good.
Such straight rows!
Jim, you are in one of the few places in the we orld that has adequate, even maybe a little excessive soil moisture.
Bill is VERY fit. The uninitiated might think he looks thin, but he looks like an athlete. That is the equine version of ripped with washboard abs. You can just see his ribs when he turns, but not while he is standing still, which is perfect. He has an amazing mound of muscle on his hindquarters. When you view him from behind, he still has a crease down the middle of his hindquarter, which is all muscle, and none on his back, where it would be fat. This is why Jim's horses are living so long and staying sound and working into extreme old age: he works them hard enough to get them really fit, just the right weight, no excess fat. Anyone who wants to learn good horsemanship, this is the place to learn.
Baron is getting really patient and quiet now. He has learned so much this summer. He is really coming into his own. The boys really had to pull with that heavy, wet hay. You can really see the difference between Duke and Earl, on the one hand, and Baron on the other. Baron is fit and hard muscled, and his brothers are pretty soft and fat. You can really compare the shape of their hindquarters and see the difference between fit and fat. They aren't obese, but they are soft. They really grow and chunk up on green grass, especially as much rain as you've had.
It always used to surprise me when my horses would suddenly start getting a thicker coat in August. It always seems too early. But cooler nights aren't that far away, and I can see Earl's coat thickening up already.
I live in Northern Ontario Canada and we have had the ink
Ing of autumn since the middle of July. Now you can really see it with the cooler nights, leaves and ferns slowly starting to change colour. We had temps down to 50F this past week. The tropical plants have come in for the winter. They can still enjoy the fresh air with the patio door open.
Horse 🐎 TV that funny 😁
man Bree's color sure is changing beautifully.
All of your horses are looking great!
Thank you Jim and Brenda! I love your content .. everything so very beautiful

Hello from Kazakhistan🇰🇿🤝🇺🇲
You have a really cool farm & plase give the horses & cows a big pet from us & plase show your cows in the video
Jim, I must say, I do not tire of the Videos you and yours bring for all viewers to enjoy. Too work with a well disciplined team, Whether 'Field or woods'. Yes, I've been there, loose hay or skidding pulpwood North Wisconsin. At 81, my mind takes back to our first team (Belgians) 'Dick & Dan' followed by a mare team (same) 'Kate & Queen. Cannot dismiss the memory. !!
Hooly Dooley I saw you with a grease gun in hand, I thought that you didn't know of their existence lol. What do they say... a stitch in time saves nine.
Brenda your hair is looking realy pretty!!! love the silver color on you, Bree is a doll baby, and uncles Duke & Earl are magnificient. Loved seeing Ken with the calves babysitting. Best channel on Utube for relaxing
Has anyone ever tried this homemade fly spray recipe? Add a handful of cloves to six cups of boiling water and simmer until water is dark. Cool, strain and fill a spray bottle halfway with liquid, then top with vinegar. They made some on the Friesian Horse channel, but, made no comment about it's efficacy. It's sounds cheap to make, but, does it at least cut down on the nasty buggers?
Let us know what you find out!
Whipple
All the horses look gorgeous, thanks for sharing 🙋♂️🐈🐈
Awesome watching the videos. Rain could be more snow great
Like all babies they are sponges . Always learning from mom and you .
A wonderful time out following you both with your present and growing working horses. What teams you will have will be exciting to look forward too. A relief to have such a hay stock ready for winter!
Another great video showing how you work with the horses. Nice to see Brenda handling the reins. She does a good job, too. The horses are beautiful.

Jim, Brenda, Great video Always so nice to see all the good horses. Bree, is doing so good, and growing. Jim, I have a question, Do your horses or any horses mind being outside when it is thunder & lighting out, does it spook them very much? Thanks, Jim, Nova Scotia Canada.

Благодарю за видео, очень красиво!Хорошая техника для сена, первый раз такую вижу, привет из Украины!
Hi Jim and Brenda. Love your work, here on UA-cam. I watch almost all your new videos but I miss details here and there. When Jim bought Baron from the Amish, he said that Baron had a problem, but th Amish didn't tell him what it was. Has Jim discovered what it is? I bought your 2023 calendar and can't wait for the 2024 one. GodBless!!...Also would like to see more of Brenda in the kitchen...bet she does some wonderful recipes.
Hay looks good! Good job Brenda! Will be interesting to see Duke & Earl being trained!
Saying watching horse tv was absolutely hilarious I laughed for several minutes. You guys sure have a beautiful farm I grew up in WV and it reminds me of western WV I’m from the mountains of WV. Loved how the ladies were helping you in the garden in a previous video, I remember hoeing potatoes and digging potatoes, corn, green beans, tomatoes, onions, strawberries, squash, lettuce, ect. and picking wild blackberries for cobbler that was the only thing that took no effort from our parents for us to go and pick. All of that was back in the late 60’s and 70’s. That was some good eating along with biscuits and cornbread now everything is processed foods and everybody is fat.
My 4 th of July family reunion’s were pick up square bales onto wagon, heft bales into barn, get all dirty, sweaty. Only water to wash face and hands. Then eat our brought.
Good fun, good food , drive hundreds of miles home. All with three children .
I would like to see my children do that…
The Punch's are looking great. Love them.
Those drone shots are really great. Brenda is a real cutie on the driver's seat!
Really nice drone shots. Like how Bill tried to anticipate where to go at the ends.
Interesting to see Bill trying to work out where to go next while raking. Very intelligent horse.
Hello Jim Brenda. This is a very good learning video. Thankyou
Your horses r so talented and Bree is doing so well I'm proud of them love u guys ❤
Question, Was Lady bred back to Baron again for next year????

What a peaceful video
The big horses love the work they live to work and nothing else is kinder to our top soil than horse poop.
Would love to visit, Grew up with Clydesdale Percheron 60 Jersey’s and Guernseys milking by hand. Our own electricity ice house and root cellar. Logging too boot.

Brenda, do you ever fear walking up behind Bree that she might kick at you, I know you know not to scare or surprise them? I think that is how Jim got kicked by Baron.
yea,,,Texas needs rain real bad.
what kind of horses are good, smart, obedient, Helpers, reliable and loyal friends.
Work I love it
What are the ingredients in the bug spray you are using? Looks like it’s doing good.
