*Teej* is prevalent in the eastern part of India where married women fast (without even water) for 24 hours praying for the health and longevity of their husbands. Panchayat is based in eastern parts of India so they showed Teej.
In western parts of India (shown in most Bollywood movies) a similar festival *Karwa Chauth* is observed but this fast is from sunrise to moonrise only.
