I can’t understand why Fischer Z were not a massive band, they did some brilliant songs including this one

maybe i have another pressing.i should play the album and single version back to back again to compare.but i"m certain when i listen to my album copy.
If it sounds different maybe it because top of the pops made you re record the tracks for broadcast

Not at all, he's not only alive but he's still touring. And doing an amazing job at that, even though I was born many years after this song was written, I really enjoyed seeing it performed live by Fischer-Z in Utrecht last fall. And John Watts sounded as good as ever, on his old songs as well as on his new work.
