There’s only only two channels that I watch the entire videos from yours is one of them. I’m a big fan of the unedited videos. I think if people really want to learn this is the best way. Thanks for thinking outside the box Elias.
For a yahoo like me, it is encouraging if not comforting to watch you fish, think and talk through your decisions in an unedited format making process. It gives me a realistic view and expectation when I venture into new places. Thanks for doing this.
These uncut videos really show if its a good or bad fishing day. The edited videos make it look like its a non stop action fishing day which we all know its not always that way. I enjoy watching your videos.
In my opinion, for what it's worth, I enjoy the long-form, unedited content. I do not get out nearly as much as I would like to these days so the long-form content makes me feel like I'm out there breathing the fresh air. Additionally, I like the "talking to yourself" critical thinking aspect hearing you break down a spot and detailing how you're going to fish it. It provides a lot of insight, and while you mention a lot of that stuff in your short-form content, I can't imagine it captures all the good stuff. Keep up the good work!
I appreciate the reality of this format. Definitely learn a lot more watching the whole trip vice the highlights. It’s interesting hearing how you strategize and watching what you do. Thank you for the video, it was very much appreciated. 🎣
Typical day fishing on fresh water lakes. Thanks for a dose of reality. But fishing is definitely relaxing. I stuck around for the whole video and it was relaxing for me. Thanks Elias love your vids.
The long form is solid as heck... your thoughts, your evolving strategies through the fishing experience.. and the potential to learn from you working at your trade... I love it.. hope you keep mixing in the long videos...
This was an amazing video. Definitely enjoy the thought processes being verbalized. Looking forward to more like this. Amazing adventure - thanks for sharing it with us.
If you are where I think you are, a lot of the bigger crappie in there have worms in the flesh. TC. Loving the unedited vid so far man! Where the smaller creek hits the main creek is a known yellow perch spot. Live shiners on a bottom rig just inside of RC, before you get out into the main creek. This time of year is when they're there.
@@TridentDriver If it's just one I'll cut it and the flesh around it out. But some if the 13 and 14 inchers in the tidal waters down here are just full of them. I read it comes from bird poop. In my experience down here it's only in the tidal waters though.
6:18 "but based on my knowledge of nothing..." Lol. I can hear myself saying that if I'm out in 45 degree weather blind casting for anything. Enjoyed this format.
Hey brother, interesting going long format, although I thought several times that the progression blip on the bottom of the screen was stuck🤣. Kept whacking the iPad....As for verbal content, one thing I appreciate most about your video style is the lack of insipid filler content blather that so many other angling UA-camrs spew. I hate the hype yells, overuse of superlatives and general pro wrestling banter so common in fishing videos. Thanks for just being you - it's what we tune in for! As for slow days, I just spent 6 hours on the ice of Lake Winnipesaukee Saturday hoping for a tip-up flag or a thump on my jigging ice rod......nothing. At least you put several fish over the gunwale. Mad props.
Not sure I would want to repeat it, but I am very grateful for this marathon session which shows us all that, even for an expert fisherman like you, conditions and circumstances can combine for a very frustrating fishing experience. And yes, I watched the entire video!
Living in an area where we ice fish 4 months out of the year, I laugh (ha,ha) at your idea of cold water. In cold water situations, less is more when it comes to live and action of your lures. scent is also important when getting fish to bite during cold water periods. I use lure shaking, lifting and holding when vertical jigging. Love the videos.
Elias...Thanks for your time and hard work. I will admit I wasn't expecting you to fish so light. I like how you go out of your comfort zone. 3 hours.....not enough....next goal.....24 hours live!
Love the un edited long videos. The commentary is great , we get to see the true fishing experience. What a peaceful place to fish. I know that weather well growing up in Va. 35-40 degrees, overcast , that is winter in that area of the country. You can thaw out in Fla. I have fished Flamingo a couple of times , watch out for the mosquitos 🦟 they can carry you away. Cheers,
Awesome! These are great for learning. Yeah, they might not be your most watched videos, but I feel for your hardcore viewership doing one of these every once in a while would be great. Mayne mix it up ocean, flats, march, etc. You just pick up so much more knowledge watching you in real time.
Good post, from Montana lived and fished in KS, WY, NC, DELMARVA, AR. now in Louisiana. Every place is so different in what and how to fish. I wish that I had your posts to watch when I had the posts you put out . I would have caught more fish. You do the sport justice Thank you
This was enjoyable. A nice change of pace. Keep long-form unedited style in the rotation. Your shorter, edited uploads are great, too. I'll watch it all.
Definitely a fishing trip. Sometimes I put a small cork painted black so it doesn't stand out above my jig. Keeps the jig in the strike zone longer. Nice video 👍
Pelican catch pwr 100. Setting up this week. OHIO snow yesterday,50 tomorrow. First year kayaking fishing. Trolling motor equiped. If needed, disabled. Crappie fishing. Great video
Elias ,looks like you've settled in pretty nicely with the e PDL. You're making me envious. Believe it or not it helps to see you struggle a little to catch fish. Nice to know fish dont just folllow you around jumpig into your yak, ........bowfin can be tough with out bait
YES!!! I'm trying to figure this stupid winter fish out and this really helps.... Don't hate but it's like family that are too close for the whole afternoon :) LOL. Loved it!
Crappy, Croppy, some say tomato and some say tomotos! - just call them Blue Gills and you cover everything. Don't worry there are some people who just have to be right all the time! Can't wait to see you back here in the Sunshine State! Been nice weather here since you've been gone. Although, I'm in Central Florida.
I miss fishing below Cherry Point! Especially in the colder months. My go-to was always white bodied 3” grubs. Never knew what was going to bite, but it was always a good time!
I watched every second of this vid. Loved the Bowfins. I catch a ton of White Perch, Stripers, Crappies, LMB's, and small Flounder, on the Zoom "Tiny Fluke" and Lunker City "Fin-S Fish" (2.5 inch)... Wapsi 1/8th oz super-head. The bodies are in Rainbow Trout color and Arkansas Shiner color. Other colors can be hot also, I'm just partial to these two.
If you want to have fun, you need a St. Croix Rods Premier Spinning Rod. SPECIFICATIONS: Length - 6’6”; Power - UL; Action - Fast; Pieces - 1; Line Wt. - 2-6 lbs; Lure Wt. - 1/32-3/16 oz; Rod Wt. - 2.8 oz; Handle - 2. Some Johnson Beetle Spin Nickel Blade in 1/32oz size. P-Line Tactical Premium Fluror Carbon in 6 lb. test.
Been putting in the effort to learn crappie. Started having better sucess locating fish with minnows on a slip cork, when I get on them switch to artificial. One thing has become clear for crappie, the bottom 3rd of the water column is useless. Best luck with artificials has been a underspin with a bobby Garland then jigs under slip cork. A lot of the fish on the slip cork will hit after 3-5sec dead stop.
Sometimes they’ll be down there too - speaking from experience. But that is typically after very cold weather. Every weather pattern will change their experience that’s for sure! Good tip on the underspin thank you!
I just had that conversation yesterday with a guy on the creek talking about it seems more and more signs going up "don't eat the fish" ! Remind me again of why they make us buy a fishing license.we need to abolish the recreational fishing licenses/permission slips, put our own moratorium on licenses then maybe they will get off their arses and clean our water up.
Great vid so far. What's keeping you from upgrading electronics? You don't need to, but it'd make finding targets so much easier. More fish = more views?I visited ol' archie not long ago and picking out stripers and drum was so easy. Can't wait for the next upload!
I still do my research on the when, where, why, and how. Sidescan is a tool to help me pick apart an area and confirm my plan much faster. Even when I find schools, the fish don't jump on my hook. I've learned a lot about bait and open water trout/stripers since I went side scan
The Bowfin in Louisiana they call them Choupique (Shoepick). They were generally considered trash fish back in the 70’s, 80’s. Then at some point they found out the caviar was to die for, so now they’re under a lot more fishing pressure
I caught a huge bowfin in my float tube a few years ago. I took some photos and let it go and the guy turned all the way back around and clamped onto my hand drawing blood. Mean creatures.
Hey Elias, I was looking for the same ultra light that you're using, is it the 5 foot ultra light triumph moderate action? The li k doesn't seem to work for me
Mostly in NC , people setup with cane poles and like 3 feet depth bobbers with a small hook and small sinker and they set up like 10 poles and troll them very slowly down shallow creeks. Crickets are the choice bait. Once the water gets about 55 , you can do that and one ya bobbers start going off , stop , and anchor up and catch a mess of em. Good fishing , lazy fishing but good stuff. When you hit a school of em , its pretty crazy.
I'm not going to sugar coat it. There came a point when I realized I was looking forward to the commercials and watching them all the way through instead of hitting the skip button.
Not gonna lie, I did enjoy the video and I always try to learn something for ur videos. You gonna do a collaboration with bearded Brad in Florida? He dropped ur name in 1 of his podcast
Nice real video buddy. Justin likes doing lives to to skip the editing process. I just walked my dog for 30 minutes and he decided to wait to get back in the house before taking his dump. Asshole!! Lol
You don't really understand "ultralight"! for us in UK it can be 1/2 lb and under. My standard line would be 4lb, heavy 7lb. But it has to be understood that line must be matched with the rod, so it has to be difficult to break the line against the rod.
Everyone's putting out shorts, Elias says nahhh, 3hrs 😂
Ahahaha he’s not about them 3seconds he said 3hrs it is! Ahahahah😂
Honestly it’s pretty relaxing to watch, next he should do saltwater
@@killianholly8415
Next he should do one sitting in a lawn chair casting just a weight and reeling it in.

This type of video actually puts people that like to fish more in the actually feel of fishing. Definitely don't mind these!

I can’t believe I watched the WHOLE thing! It took me three days and two naps to make it through. I’m amazed I liked it. Tight lines!
I feel so much better about my fishing skills after watching this for 3 hours. Thank you for posting this in full.

I enjoyed a 3hr river skunk the day before yesterday. My typical first trip of the year😁

Uncharacteristically for me, I’ve blanked for the last two trips, one salt and one fresh. I’m humble right now.@@lee8287
