We all are bro. I was 21 when I saw this in the movies. A month later I bought my first 1200 mk2 from Sam ash in Brooklyn ny and a month later I bought the 2nd 1200 and a Gemini mixer. So you’re in good company
Agreed. It’s a shame we weren’t allowed to see the finish of it. I would of wanted to know if gee-q could of taken the win instead of how the movie actually played out.
hiiipower iii I feel you .. I'm still out here in SA Tx grown 35 year old man spinning vinyl . This movie definitely did influence growing up back in the day . Still into the same shit ... and my boy is named Q . Partially cause of this movie
Straight cutting and beat juggling the shit out of those sets with small mixers. Hip Hop History right here. No Serato, no Traktor, no Laptops, no Rane 62 mixes, just pure talent skills and VINYL!!!
I was born in 1982, I wish I was 10 when the 80s started and by the time it ended I be old enough to hit the clubs. I love the old DJ days seeing people scratch records something you rarely see anymore.
The DJ Majesty "Is It Good To You" DJ Scratching sequence with the "I Like It" words by Teddy Riley in the back ground was the best part of the DJ battle in my eyes. It was simple yet talented scratching & I liked that one the most & secondly the "Pump Me Up" scratching sequence by G.Q..
That teddy Riley scratch sequence was just 🔥🔥🔥 idk why 😂 but it just is simple sales with me. . and that mix just did it for me uptown anthem go hard to tho 🔥
I wore the VCR cassette of this movie out rewinding the DJ routines. I bought turntables on the back of this film. The reason I can't play guitar but know what a chirp, flare, orbit and phase scratch is that I watched this from 1992-94 pretty much all the time. pure. dope.
Man where do I begin when I speak on this movie....First off Im a just go out and say this(in my eyes) is the best movie ever made....PERIOD...SEAMLESS....I watch this movie everyday since I was 2 years old back in 92 when this joint released....I used to sit on the edge of the couch wit my pops old records and act like I was mixin to the movie....lol....epic cast also, may I mention that....LEGENDARY flick b....I repeat...LEGENDARY...
I remember watchin this when I was like 11 when it1st came out. This movie never getz oul..And this was a big influence on gettin me n my bro in2 djing..I remember watchin this scene n all of the dj scenes over n over n over n over.LOL I remember thinkin dam I wish I can get this good.I learned so much from this movie.N Omar epps does a really good job actin like he`s scratchin.Cause it looks so real n perfect.N I miss the hip hop that sounded like this.Thatz why we went to break beatz n electro
Sooo good! :) Sad to see not many people master this skill anymore. Was lucky enough to see Scratch perverts once. Can't believe it's been 25 years since the movie though..
Same here. That would be interesting to know. Thanks for the info. I don't remember anyone getting robbed inside the Ruff House , but since you mentioned it , I'll keep my eyes peeled the next time I watch this movie again. I have it on DVD in my collection.
Our favorite DJ scene of all time! The movie Clockstoppers also has a great scene if u can find the actual DJ battle. Performing in movies as DJs ourselves, these are rare scenes where real DJ are actually not faking it. We've always envisioned creating a DJ battle like the one in Juice. Pump pump pump pump it up!
@Djayace007 THANK YOU! I had this break in my head for days and this movie was the only thing I could remember for sure what it was. I then searched for it on the tube, found this video and then your comment. Thanks man. I'm using this in my next set.
No way Q lost this, listen to his scratches, quicker, cleaner, and more skilled. DJ majesty 1st joint was a monster when i found out what song he was scratching to
25 years later, here i am DJ'ing because of this movie.
We all are bro. I was 21 when I saw this in the movies. A month later I bought my first 1200 mk2 from Sam ash in Brooklyn ny and a month later I bought the 2nd 1200 and a Gemini mixer. So you’re in good company
You got the juice now man
I'm inspired by this too
Made me inspired too
"You just local. Kiss my local ass" haa
I'd go to clubs if I could hear this type of hip hop all the time
Me too ! let´s go !
Me too, I hate going to clubs just to hear mumble they play on the radio. Give me 80s, 90s, and early 00s anyday.
Michelle Burton I swear lol I’ll walk with a bounce coming in and head nod ppl ik 😂😂😂
yeah back to the old skool !
There's throwback parties like this all the time in Charlotte
This has to be one of my favorite scenes from any movie of all time.
Joseph Halliday one of my favorites movies too
Agreed. It’s a shame we weren’t allowed to see the finish of it. I would of wanted to know if gee-q could of taken the win instead of how the movie actually played out.
Luv how at the end his opponent didn't hate, just a fuck u and a smile.
Rejoyce Jones Just gonna mention that. Love that.
I like how the DJ who battled Q knows he lost and gave him a friendly "fuck you" with a smile. Its all love and its just hip hop.
...friendly
True
I always thought that was dope!!
DJs who don't use stupid airhorns. How I miss those days.
"you wanted all the juice."
"you wanted all the jizz"
Oh the times when beef could be settled by scratchy records.
So true!
The 90s?
AHAHAHAHAHAHAhAH
TheVortiguant IKR! 🤣

I wore my grandmothers record player needle OUT, because of this scene!

It's so sad that today's hip hop has become more garbage every minute, we need to revive the New Jack Swing and the old school golden age hip-hop

I use to watch this movie over and over again i just to see this scene. This made me want to really be a DJ and really influenced me musically.
Every millennial needs to study this moment in Hip Hop!
& DJ'ing in general
@@BadassEFdriver Facts💯
Back when real DJs didn't use laptops or cell phones to mix their music. Miss the 90s man
hiiipower iii I feel you .. I'm still out here in SA Tx grown 35 year old man spinning vinyl . This movie definitely did influence growing up back in the day . Still into the same shit ... and my boy is named Q . Partially cause of this movie
Yeah to me that is just whack, I could just play music like that from a phone. The talent is when you scratching the records...that is amazing
Yeah, "real" DJs only use vinyl, and they DEFINITELY don't use laptops! Just ask Jazzy Jeff....

He killed it with uptown anthem. .
The spin around was so smooth
This really made me want to be a DJ, Juice was was an amazing movie. Still good today too.
they had Q kill pump me up at the end, wish it was longer
I always thought that first DJ Majesty mix was the best one.

titwio Majesty won hands down and the other DJ before they got arrested when he was fuckin up that nuff respect by bdk he killed it
DJ. Majesty was a real sizzler. Me and cousin always used to say that whenever we watched this scene.
titwio Me Too

Q last round was insane sick man, it's street from the heart
I love how it seems there able to cut each other off, that has never been the case...
HE WANTED ALL HE WANTED HE WANTED ALL HE WANTED THE JUICE!
Honestly I think DJ Majesty was better but I guess Q had to win for the purpose of the plot
Brandon H Q had the crowd
He trashed Q😂😂😂
Yes because Omar Epps wasn't a DJ and Majesty is a real DJ. He did form a group a year later with Izzy Ice. Da King & I. Very slept on hip hop LP.
Crazy how Joe got inspired to do pump it wit this battle
Best dj movie session ever. This is where it all began
Joey Bada$$ Summer Knights...
G.Cube's scratches took me on a journey into the 90s when hip hop and props were all we were after...
I've got goosebumps all over my body...😓
I remember watchin this when I was like 11 when it1st came out. Sterling Turner. Agreed. DJ Majesty won hands down not taking any thing from Q but DJ Majesty was nice and he even gave Q his props very classy of him
PUMP.. PUMP PUMP IT UP!
When was you able to solve beef with music lmao.. damn

Majesty was robbed yo but Q won the first round tho with uptown anthem
One of my favorite scenes 😍 ❤️ Sounded like a lil go-go was in that last mix.
Q WAS NICE ON THEM NEEDLES😂😂
2024
Old school movies. Quality
Sooo good! :) Sad to see not many people master this skill anymore. Was lucky enough to see Scratch perverts once. Can't believe it's been 25 years since the movie though..

After watching this scene i went and got my self a pair of 1200s back then.still got them.
Awesome film moment.
I digged the scratching at 2:08
Same here. That would be interesting to know. Thanks for the info. I don't remember anyone getting robbed inside the Ruff House , but since you mentioned it , I'll keep my eyes peeled the next time I watch this movie again. I have it on DVD in my collection.
for those who dont know... Dj Scratch is Omar Epps Stuntman
The song is called "Flipside" by the group : Juvenile Committee. It too is also on the Juice soundtrack.
And the winner is...Gee Q!!
I wish GQ had more time on that Naughty By Nature mix (the 1st round ). The shit was dope!!!
Fun fact- DJ scratch was the recording they used for Pump me up
The look he just gave to q 🤣
Our favorite DJ scene of all time! The movie Clockstoppers also has a great scene if u can find the actual DJ battle. Performing in movies as DJs ourselves, these are rare scenes where real DJ are actually not faking it. We've always envisioned creating a DJ battle like the one in Juice. Pump pump pump pump it up!
Darren EPMD were in the bar scene when Blizzard broke out with the shotgun while Q was trying to buy cigarettes.

@Djayace007 THANK YOU! I had this break in my head for days and this movie was the only thing I could remember for sure what it was. I then searched for it on the tube, found this video and then your comment. Thanks man. I'm using this in my next set.
this film never gets old,
Omar looks like he knew what he was doing.
The moment Q juice was bigger than Bishop Raheem and Steel combined great scene👍🏿💯
This movie is classic no doubt! However, the cues were totally off. The (visual) scratches don't even match what you hear. lol.
Kasino Marxs yess

I like how he looped it
When Q it the stutter step scratch, that was it. (Big ups DJ Scratch)
even though im into the new dj generation. i gotta give respect to how ppl dj'd like that back in the days :)
He was scratching a sample "break" to a Tammy Lucas track, held the sample, the beat dropped out, DJ Majesty spun and the beat came back in.
Majesty got robbed
Queen latifah was fine then
hell yeah
Hell nah she look the same
She look the same
@Tony Cervantez To another 200lb Lesbian maybe
She still fine
DJ Majesty from The Group.'The King and I' Latifah's folks.
No way Q lost this, listen to his scratches, quicker, cleaner, and more skilled. DJ majesty 1st joint was a monster when i found out what song he was scratching to
what is that beat when he gets ready to go rob the store
You got the juice!
The Juice soundtrack was released on MCA Records , Tapes , Cassettes & CD's back then. Now pretty much on CD only , if that.
Respect to DJ Red Alert and Queen Latifah! Salute 🫡
DJ Majesty was so fast on them turntables though! He was like a mutant.
Is he saying, "you wantin' all the juice."?
He's saying you wanted all the juice
Thanks. Now I can tell my brother...idk what he thought was being said lol
he wanted - he wanted --he wanted -he wa -he wa- he wanted all the juice
DJ majesty looks kinda like one of those guys from Twin Hype.
