@@guillermoverde81 That's true, the uz V8 engines will last forever and no doubt have a fatter torque curve, but...they do need timing belts and unfortunately the gs430/460 use the same brake actuator and abs unit as the Ls460. This is more than an old man's car. This car is just waking up at around 135 mph. I found a pristine used GS 460, the rarest showroom model Lexus ever made. I accidentally light up the back tires at least a few times every week. The torque and power on the engine is far more than what anyone needs. With slightly wider rear tires, I have gotten to 60 in 5.12 seconds with premium fuel. Not the fastest, but for a used car at $28,900 with 12,000 miles and 110 mph at 3000 rpm? You can't go wrong. The Accord V6 6 speed is a fantastic car, however I'd take a used GS460 any day over the Accord...
@The Stig's English Cousin Hi, do you still have it? I am looking to buy one and was curious about the potential problems, other than the battery which I can replace or source the parts myself. Any issues with the AC and generator for example?
there are 2 thing wrong with this car. one if the sun is out you have to wear polarized sunglasses because the dash has a horrid glare (big screw up toyota) secondly you can't control the wiper speed, it just does whatever it wants. there are about 50 wiper setting and they are completely useless. other than that it's a great car
MrFuchew you're wrong about the glare. My gs300 darkens and lightens the gauge cluster in accordance with the sun in the exact same way as Auto-dimming mirrors function for headlights behind you. You may want to get yours checked out if it doesn't work. I agree with your wiper speed statement. Definitely an odd functionality there.
@@waqarahmad567 i'm not speaking on the dash cluster i'm referring to the actual plastic top of the dash. The hard plastic dash just under the windsheild. I have since noticed that many other cars have more of a matte dash to avoid the glare
MrFuchew you’re right about the glare , it’s bloody dangerous but rectified by a dash mat / glasses . Don’t have any dramas with the wipers though , putting them on auto seems ok for most conditions . Just bought my 2005 gs 300 a couple of months ago .. loving it.

This car is beautiful and nice to look at. When it comes to performance, this car, the LS, ES, and IS cannot compete with the Europeans. A better alternative is the Infiniti M. The M has outsold Lexus GS and handles better than this car.
