Fun Fact: Liu Kang had to have a number of edits done to his pants and shoes. His pants were an official brand of martials pants that had a large logo on them. The logo had to be removed from the sprites for trademark reasons. He also wore white jogging sneakers for the filming, which then were redrawn to look closer to some kind of kung fu shoes.

What logo? In the behind the scenes of the actors playing the characters, liu kang (or ho sung pak) didn't have a logo on his pants for it to be edited out.

I thank the creators of the Mortal Kombat video game series for giving Liu Kang the prominence that he deserves.
However, I wonder what it would have been like if Liu Kang had gotten all his special techniques from him from the start.
I say this because one of them (The Bicycle Kick) made its debut in the second video game of the Mortal Kombat series.

Fun fact: Liu Kang was the intended charachter to beat mk1 with since in mk2 it's intro is about Liu and defeating Shang tsung

I love seeing how much you can do in this and MK2... it's wild a game this old has a "Nah that combo's going too long, stop that" mechanic. I was shocked when I saw the game shove you back after certain combos to stop you lol. but it's even cooler when that character has tech that can get around that pushback. basically... this and MK2 are more technical than I ever knew.

This is a TAS, gameplay recorded with many tools like savestates, slow motion and memory watch to create a (theoretically) perfect run, or just very entertaining, absurd gameplay.

@@Heretic_Hero A TAS, or "Tool Assisted Speedrun/Superplay", is a run where someone goes in an emulator or specialised program to create a sequence of inputs to create theoretically perfect gameplay, be it to demonstrate limits or just for entertainment.
Such runs are created by using normally illegal tools like savestates, slow motion (or frame by frame), memory watch, etc to assist in making the gameplay perfect.
These runs, however, aren't legal in any kind of competition for obvious reasons, they only exist for demonstration or educational purposes, the only competitions that TASes are allowed in are TAS-related ones.
