There are lots of travel videos on UA-cam, but nobody comes close to your chemistry and personalities! I feel like I'm traveling with friends that I've known for ages when I watch your videos, and I love how down to earth you both are. So glad I came across you guys!
My husband became slightly ill on a flight to Hong Kong from San Francisco and was given a free pass to the Wing by Cathay Pacific. He was treated like a king and left feeling healthy. He loved the lounge and raves about it 16 years later.
I've never heard of anyone tipping in an airline lounge. Typically you have minimal interaction with staff, and actually in the US & other Western countries they would probably not be allowed to accept tips.
I have never done that. Remember that they are employed by the airline or the company they work for (in case of out sourcing). Generally those companies are not seen as a (fancy) restaurant. And even if they were, the lounge access comes with your ticket. Means you have already paid for it. And since you can eat and drink as much as you want and nobody gives you the bill afterwards because they most likely don't have that option as well as for the reason mentioned above, nobody tips. Proper etiquette varies by lounge but casual or smart casual is nearly always accepted. And just to be clear, people CANNOT come in the sleeping wear, bathing suites etc to an airline lounge.
It's really circumstantial. I travel frequently within the US and specifically to this question, know the Centurion and Admiral's Clubs well. In both, I tip the bartenders a couple of bucks a drink. In the Centurion's, we're talking full bar and can make most cocktails as well so certainly tip as I would any other bar. Rarely buy anything from an Admiral's Club bar and opt for their complimentary pours, yet still tip. For pleasure, we've been fortunate enough to travel to a few of the lounge's on this particular vid and don't believe we've ever tipped.
Hey Kara and Nate, I have been following you guys for the past two years and together with my then girlfriend we decided to start watching all of your video’s from the very beginning. Recently she broke up with during the quarantine and it has hit very hard because the one thing I love is traveling and especially traveling together with the one you love. Instead of breaking every advice and because a lot of borders are still closed I have been watching your video’s again on my own. The absolute love between you two is so amazing and is pumping me up in a very hard time of not being able to do what you love without someone you love. Thank you guys for being just your self and seek the discomfort of traveling together with (in my opinion) the touch of airport lounge which are the best invention ever done next to airplanes. I hope you can get back out there soon and since I’m writing this here at number 373 out of 721 video’s in this list, I hope to never actually catch so that I can just keep bingewatching your video’s. Cheers and lots of love
I think I finally figured out why I love airport lounges so much; they remind me a lot of cruise ships!!! Cozy. Each one is unique with its food and interior design. Proximal conveniences. And, on many occasions, spa options! Who would'a thought?
As a frequent First Class traveler, I’ve enjoyed several of the lounges you showed. The Pier lounge is always a welcome respite and I’ve enjoyed the Qantas First Class lounge a couple of times. My favorite, probably because I travel Lufthansa First Class the most, is the First Class Terminal in Frankfurt. What I particularly value is the private car transfer to my connecting flight.
Last year when I went to Africa I had a 9-hour layover in Doha and I stayed in the lounge and loved it it was one of the best lounges I had ever been in
love this video, definitely going to check out the guide since my wife and I plan to travel more. One thing we have found that works that we feel a lot of Military families don't take advantage of is the USOs. They provide similar services for Military travelers. For example we had an early flight through SFO and I had been watching your vlogs. Decided to check out lounges that would allow us to stay overnight so we didn't have to rush in the morning. we found that most of the lounges at the airport had certain times and weren't open overnight except for the USO. we were able to stay comfortably overnight without being rushed morning. Most USO provide showers, food (nothing extravagant), and a place to relax and even sleep overnight. Most USOs are also kid friendly. A great option if you are in active, reserved or retired.
Hey guys, I was just on CNN Travel and they were listing the most popular 'couple travel vloggers' and I really hoped that you would be on the list, and you were!! I wanted to quickly drop by to congratulate you on your success on this channel. You deserve to be on CNN Travel because of all the hard work you guys put into your vlogs! Congratulations again and I hope you keep filming and uploading these great travel vlogs!
When Joey Pecoraro's beats started playing, the nostalgia hit me pretty hard. Great to see some of your older stuff again! Truly amazing to see how far you've come :)
You guys should definitely check out the First Class Lufthansa terminal in Frankfurt. The Thai Airways First Class Lounge in Bangkok is worth a visit, as well.
Whatdup from 2022! Just got my passport renewed and ready to rock for the first time in 10 years! Time to put my fresh amex platinum, global entry, and priority pass to werrk. Thanks baby Kara and Nate!
Hey Guys, I so loved this video! Please, please, please don't ever grow up, or get used to this Lounge Life! As long as we see your Wonderment over this free realm we can enjoy it with you. This video was Amazing!
Thanks for giving us your feedback. We also have priority passes and will be on the look out in visiting your recommended lounges. It's just a matter of getting to them.
I have always said this but people always hate having to be at the airport but I’ve always loved it… This is the best video ever thank y’all much for all the ideas!!
Went to the Al Mourjan Business Lounge last September. The lockers was a blessing cause I didn't want to go around the airport lugging my backpack. The buffet was ok but took advantage of the ala carte menu and champagne. Also took a nap during the 9 hour layover. Yes it is opulent.
Great Video! Glad my wife and I are not the only ones that enjoy the lounge experience. We've been to 5 of your 7. The runway views at the Centurion lounge in MIA can't be beat. Also the new CX F lounge in LHR is a mini version of the Pier lounge. Thanks
hi! what's the tipping etiquette in lounges? also do you access the first class lounges with any of your cards, or do you have to fly first class. thanks!
I think you can just pay to get access to it... I'm going to just pay instead of messing around with credit cards and points cause it looks like the only one actually worth taking the time to visit. Apparently I was wrong or I don't even know but they renovated it so I'm pretty sure this doesn't even exist anymore...?
So fun to watch and reminisce along with you on the lounges I've also visited. Hey...have y'all been to the Dubai Emirate lounges? And how about the Private Room of SQ in SIN? Not big, but quite elite...lounge inside a lounge inside a lounge inside a lounge! I book 40+ hour layovers and stay inside SIN Changi to enjoy all that airport has to offer. Cool to see TWO lounges in HKG made your list! Totally agree, and looking forward to my 16-hour layover there in January.
This is an amazing vlog! You lucky people to be able to check out all these lounges. Hubby and I have been to Melbourne, Sydney and LA first class lounges only. Your vlog makes me to want to add to my bucket list.
Talking about flying for free or using lounges for free is misleading! They are not exactly all free. For example, you still have to pay $550 annual fee for Amex credit card in order to use centurion lounges, credit card annual fees to get the points to redeem for flights, but you still have to pay for airline taxes and surge charges, and the hassle of getting those airline points turns many people off. It's so worth it though!
Access to the Istanbul lodge, is that with the Priority Access Pass? Sorry for asking it’s just we are flying over their in a few months. I thought this was reserved for Turkish Airlines Elite members, thanks in advance.
Good choices guys... been to all apart from Texas and Istanbul lounges... my all time favourite is the Pier... by far... I usually have 7 hours layover there... and its never enough!!!... Love your vlogs!!! :)
ah nothing like the lounges and over the past ten years we have always used them, Cathy Pacific we really like the one in Hong Kong with its little paris Caffè it the umbrellas and table service awesome Qantas lounges are great as long as it's out of business travel hours like first thing in the morning or just after 5 at ight but loved your round up stay safe love your pup
Hey Kara and Nate, i was watching your channel Since one month and after watching one video sometimes i do watching all your videos non-stop since then and u won't believe some days i went to bed at 4 am in the morning ..after watching your videos i m learning something and i m also passionate about travel, so guyz would like to know u don't have plans to india ( Delhi)
The only time I’ve ever had access to airport lounges was on my last trip to Italy. But I didn’t visit them as I was too paranoid about missing my flights. On my trip back from Italy the lounge was in a different terminal than my flight so that added to my concern a lot. Next time I’ll try to be a bit braver. :-)
Are y'all just gutted that they've closed the Ataturk airport in Istanbul and, with it, the lounge?? I hope y'all can fly through the new IST and show us what their new lounge is like!
Kara and Nate - I have priority pass and some other credit cards that allows me access to the ones that p.p. doesnt cover. But how do you get into these first class lounges??? Do you actually buy the first class flight tickets? I don't see any other credit cards or membership stuff that allow access to some of these finest lounges you introduce. I wonder what else you do?
I bumped into your Chanel when i was looking for videos on that capsule hotel what you have to climb, I must say you guys are awesome I am so glad i bumped into this, I am enjoying every one am watching. Well done guys.
Good morning from Melbourne Australia. We have just been gifted an Amex platinum mostly for the lounges. We are resuming our travels in April. Do these lounges, or all that you mention, accept this card? Thank you.
You both have introduced me to the world of Airport Lounges! Ever since, I've been grading the lounges along side with you whenever you go to one (even though I'm a complete amateur), but I totally agree with this list! I have had heard there are a couple of outstanding domestic lounges at JFK (Virgin & Lufthansa, I think). Do you have access to either one of them? And, if so, any layovers at JFK in your future?
Ever fly Emirates? i happen to notice their lounges accept economy class but you have to pay $100/pp and u stay for only 4 hours, does not seem worth it, might as well get a hotel, i have a late night long layover for my trip from Delhi to Dubai, im poor but im still able to travel lol Great video guys Thanks!
Hi guys, can you take your big bags into airport lounges? Like when you get there 8 hours before your flight ? I don’t understand how this works when bag drop never opens early 🤪
the only lounge I have been to was the American Airlines - Flagship Lounge in MIA not as nice as some of the ones you have been too but i still enjoyed it
Loved this I was having a sad day ( being in lock down covid😔) should’ve be in Mexico 😔😔 but thanks to your vlogs feeling better; FYI you need to try the virgin upper class lounge Heathrow the best 😉
There are lots of travel videos on UA-cam, but nobody comes close to your chemistry and personalities! I feel like I'm traveling with friends that I've known for ages when I watch your videos, and I love how down to earth you both are. So glad I came across you guys!
What a great compliment! Thank you! :)
So true and well said!
@@KaraandNate do you have to tip any of the workers in the lounges???
Feel the same.
My husband became slightly ill on a flight to Hong Kong from San Francisco and was given a free pass to the Wing by Cathay Pacific. He was treated like a king and left feeling healthy. He loved the lounge and raves about it 16 years later.
Best comment ever!❤️
Something I’ve never seen discussed: Do you tip employees in the airline lounges? What is the proper etiquette?
It's basically a relatively luxurious restaurant/hotel, so..... same as there, I would say?
I've never heard of anyone tipping in an airline lounge. Typically you have minimal interaction with staff, and actually in the US & other Western countries they would probably not be allowed to accept tips.

I always tip at the lounge bars and they are always grateful. I think it's lame not to tip.

Great video. I’m going to the Istanbul lounge later this year. Looks fantastic!

Love this travel hack series! Can't wait to see what's to come. I can totally understand why you would seek out a long layover with lounges this nice.
Whatdup from 2022! Just got my passport renewed and ready to rock for the first time in 10 years! Time to put my fresh amex platinum, global entry, and priority pass to werrk. Thanks baby Kara and Nate!

Just wanted to say thank you thank you Nate for the pdf. I started on your first video and I just got to this one🙂

Thank You Both, I enjoyed that! MANY YEARS of Happy Travels To You Both!!!! From Istanbul, Daniel Young.

The lounge in Turkey is my favorite of the ones you've been to!
Mine too

Wow nice swing Nate could touch up some things at the top of your swing but other than that it looked pretty good.
i love kate and nate . Seeing their vlogs makes me happy.
Awww it was so nice to see the old videos again...this was like a flashback! I loved it!
We had a lot of fun going back through all our old vlogs! :)
Fairy Floss, aka cotton candy. A little more thicker in Asia because they don't usually use those heated air machines we use in the US.
loved this video! Thank you for all of the insightful and useful information!!
The BA Concorde Lounge at Heathrow is very exclusive and only available if you are flying First Class !!! 😎
i just went to you site for the first time... and Nate you are a financing machine! Good job.
Guys! Everyone is waiting the big opeining of the new airport in Istanbul to see the new lounge of Turkish!
Thanks for the video and I enjoyed 3 of them alreaddy but the Turkish airlines lounge was totally different.
I just re-watched this today, over a year into COVID and wished I could go somewhere safely. Thanks for your videos.
So. Much. Fun!!! Also, the website is looking AWESOME!

I like the personalized service in the Lufthansa First Class Terminal in Frankfurt. Through security and immigration in less than a minute.

Thank you! Good times! :)

You should do a month of just traveling the first class lounges :)
🤩🤩🤩
Interesting video ! I actually made a lounge vid once and they were adamant i didn't film in there (mexico city) so I had to be super sneaky.
Before even watching this I expect to see Emirates as one of your choices. Let’s go!
thank you so much for the lounge guide kara and nate. looking adorable together. keep vlogging and entertaining
Glad you made it home for a visit!
The BA Concorde Room at LHR Terminal 5 and the LH First Class terminal at FRA are super awesome. You should feature those on a video someday.

Can I please know how you keep your skin so flawless while traveling all the time??? what skincare you used? or is that makeup?
Thanks for the Vlog :)
In my opinion, the Etihad First Class Lounge is the best from what I’ve seen the photos and videos of that amazing place

Kara and Nate - I have priority pass and some other credit cards that allows me access to the ones that p.p. doesnt cover. But how do you get into these first class lounges??? You both are a joy to watch! Beautiful people inside out! I can't wait to welcome you to your next country ..India! My native country.
maybe a tipping etiquette in lounges video? by country? or type/class of lounge?
My idea of first class lounge has my own personal indoor skydiving area
You guys are great. Love your positive energy!

Excellent picks

Another great video, but we're looking forward to you being on the road again! How much longer before you set off?
Ever fly Emirates? i happen to notice their lounges accept economy class but you have to pay $100/pp and u stay for only 4 hours, does not seem worth it, might as well get a hotel, i have a late night long layover for my trip from Delhi to Dubai, im poor but im still able to travel lol Great video guys Thanks!
if these are inside the departure gate and if its your first flight how do you check in before your desk is open as they only open 3hrs before?
My favorite lounge is the LAX lounge
Hi guys, can you take your big bags into airport lounges? Like when you get there 8 hours before your flight ? I don’t understand how this works when bag drop never opens early 🤪
Thank you for featuring Al-mourjan (business class lounge ) Qatar Airways! Hope to see you soon.

What kind of camera are you using? The quality is amazing.
