    Haha that last clip "if you cant see your sewing machine, then you're doing it right!"... yep that gives me nightmares about mountain of organza I was working with last year! I sort of want to make a petticoat, but then I keep thinking it's sooo much effort for something that is not seen, but alas it does give an awesome effect under dresses and skirts!

    • @KirileeCosplay
      @KirileeCosplay  4 роки тому +6

      Ah yes but think- what if the dress flies up as you twirl around like all princesses should. You’ll see it then!

    Yeeeeees~ this is what is so often forgotten when we make gowns for cosplay. Hoop? Check. Gown? Check. And then you see the hoops through the skirt. Eeeeeek q w q Thank you so much!

      Agreed! Can be a pain to make as it is extra and you have to make it before you make the cosplay (usually), but it makes all the difference

    Thanks for the tutorial! I love it so much! Although I have a suggestion when sewing the ruffles, maybe you can leave one seam of the skirt base unsewn so it can be layed flat then you sew a really long ruffle then you sew the said ruffle onto the skirt base. Best to mark the layer placements so it can be even. Other than that, I love your tutorials! They have helped me so much when making my costumes and many more costumes to come.

    • @KirileeCosplay

      It really depends what you are going for. A fabric one will be lighter and easier to cover hoops, but a tulle one dies give more of a dreamy look and can poof more.

    • @KirileeCosplay
      @KirileeCosplay  3 дні тому

      It depends what you want the effect to be. This effect can work on a half circle skirt, but obviously you’ll have more volume (and weight though) with a full circle skirt

      @@KirileeCosplay thanks for the reply! I was worried that the half circle might not do much and drown under the weight of the double circle medium cotton skirt, and that the full circle one might make the entire skirt more heavy (I was planning on making a summer petticoat). If our crinoline/hoop skirt is a bit big for an A-line shape, would a circle skirt base work?

    • @KirileeCosplay
      @KirileeCosplay  3 роки тому +1

      I would honestly draft a lining to go over the hoops you have first, make it a little bit bigger than the hoops themselves.
      The reason why I say this is because a full circle skirt is still going to be too big and it will be extra bulk and weight
