I used to be afraid of sirens when I was little. I grew up with an STH-10 in my town and around age 5, I realized that it was just something that makes a loud noise and was no longer afraid once I knew what it was.
Same, but as I heard sirens more and more I got an interest into sirens! I've been into sirens since 2007. When I would go visit my grandma, they have a siren that goes off at noon everyday. When noon hit, I would hear this scary 9/12 Port sound from a distance and it would freak me the hell out because I had no idea what the heck that was lol. Eventually I found out what it was and I was also no longer afraid. It ended up being a P-10. It got replaced in 2011 with a T-128. R.I.P P-10 (2009-2011).
Thanks! I've been to quite a few Allertors but this one was Loud!! The first Allertor I've ever heard was the 10/12 Port one in Cedar Falls. I've been a siren enthusiast for a long time, ever since 2007 but just started actually recording sirens. Sirens sound really good on videos but they sound amazing in person!
They had 466 sirens total, roughly 200 Allertors and 266 Thunderbolts. You can tell it's a DC allertor if it has the pasty yellowish/white color this siren has and by the ID tag on the right side of the siren motor cover. No other Allertors had the tag in that location and they were custom stamped/built for the WAWAS army contract. The majority were removed in the late 1980's/early 90's and sold at federal surplus across Nebraska, Iowa, Missouri and Kansas. These sirens are all over the place if you know how/where to look for them.
Hey bro cool vid thx. and is that siren at the bottom being replaced by the allertor 125? Also I love the air hitting the microphone on ur camra...LOL XD. And who was that random guy?
Your video came out really good! Honestly instead of getting a PowerShot, I would learn to use your Panasonic more. If you disable the wind mic feature and record in AVCHD it really helps the audio quality. Also, PowerShots only record for 15 minutes straight wile Panasonic’s record an unlimited amount of time because they’re camcorders not cameras. I know I was and still am considering getting the model Panasonic you have cause it’s so good. Nick Metts uses the same model!
Forgot to mention, most PowerShots have crap microphones and they pick up lots of wind noise. I have to rely on other cameras I have to not get bad audio (in fact, I rely on two of my Panasonic’s for audio!).
Wow! I didn't know you used Panasonic's. Don't get me wrong I will never stop using my Panasonic, but I mainly wanted a PowerShot for better picture quality and to have 2 cameras in general. Is there a second camera that you would recommend me instead? Also please tell me what Panasonic Models you have! Also Thanks!
xXSo1arGamingXx PowerShots are great for pictures and ok for video. I use older Panasonic’s actually. An HC-V500 and a HDC-TM41. The cause of the ear rape audio on all cameras is because of the cameras wind filter. On Panasonic’s you have to put them in manual mode to disable it. The PowerShot model I would recommend you get is an SX540 HS because it’s pretty much the perfect camera for sirens. I would rely on your Panasonic HC-380v a lot more with recording sirens because of the PowerShots time limit with recording video, but if you record with both that’s also good. Hope this helps!
Nice! it really shows how directional these are.

Awesome video! Love the dual siren setup too! Allertors are super loud! I remember hearing my first one and I was impressed by how loud they were.

That Aca Allertor 125 is loud is high up it must be Loud😊
Sounds like Niles, MI aca allertor
Yes, but louder since this one is correctly wired
There are two sirens
Federal dognal model 2-5-7 at the bottom of the aca allertor
Its a Model 3 made by Federal Signal
FYI, this Allertor came from the old Washington DC warning system.
Wait really?? What did they all have and when did they replace their old warning system?

Dang!
Stormsetter4 Yep and one of their Thunderbolts ended up in Admire, Kansas.
Awesome video!
Thank You!
fs model 3 is port is 12
Precisely
Allertors have the best wind up and wind down
I will definitely have to agree with you on that statement!
Is that a model 5 on the botom
It's either a Model 3 or 5. Sorry, I have a really hard time telling the difference between the two.

Thanks! It seems like the Allertor is not replacing the model siren but rather used for different purposes. Also that "random guy" is my uncle lol.

Well fuck. This is an ex-Washington D.C. siren.
Yep, I found that out recently! Pretty Neat.

@@TheSirenSeeker heh, its fine.
It is rotating _FAST_
Indeed!
xXSo1arGamingXx do you know why?
@@kansasstatealerting717 Late Reply: This is actually how fast normal Allertors are suppose to rotate. Reverse wired ones rotate a lot slower.

The last allertor that was by my house in Richfield, MN was replaced in July 2019, btw it my profile pic
oh wow really? I liked that Allertor, thats such a shame.
xXSo1arGamingXx ikr
The siren at the bottom looks a little small to be a 5, probably a 3, spicy video anyways!
Thanks! I'll update the siren name right now.
I would say this was a good day. Who is that random guy in your video? Lol
Same! Also I have nooooooooo idea who that random guy isssss lol.
