I dont think The Fast and the Furious is a great movie by any means. It's not an award winning film. It received mixed reviews from critics...but to me the film is an iconic time capsule that contains an almost intoxicating level of nostalgia as a millenial. Everything about this film, the music, the corny dialouge, the brownish/sepia filter that film is presented in and of course the cars captures a sort of vibe. It's almost as if the early 00's itself was captured in the hands of the filmmakers and presented on the screen. When I watch this film think about playing little league baseball, experiencing Halo on the Xbox for the first time, buying Linkin Park's Hybrid Theory, going to Carolina Place mall on the weekend and eating junk food and drinking soda without even thinking about how bad it was for me. Watching this goofy movie is an experience that I enjoy every time it happens to be on. It's not Pulp Fiction, It's not Goodfellas, It's not Fight Club, but it's a film that is very special to me that I will always stop and watch if it is on
I play this song on BLAST when speeding. Forever will be a fan of EARLY FAST AND FURIOUS. Will never be another like them nor the insanely sweetass cars they made back in the day..
