PSA: Fake memory cards being sold on Temu, aliexpress, Ebay and Amazon. How to avoid buying them.

Got burned when I bought 1TB micro SD cards on temu.com. Temu is generally pretty good about making things right, but it was months later before I realized the micro SD cards I bought were fakes; well past the window to complain. The 1TB micro SD cards are actually 64GB cards that were altered to look like they are 1TB. Confirmed the capacity by using a free program called "h2testw" that runs in the Windows OS.
Be careful, these fake SD cards are everywhere; Amazon and Ebay have tons of these. If you buy any memories on-line, as soon as you get them, check them to make sure they genuine and report back to the seller and the hosting site if they are bad. This is fraud and the people involved need to be exposed.

If its one thing i would be secptical about and not buy its the cards with the known brands if you are not buying from a trusted store which i dont consider Amazon/Temu/Ali express etc to be, there is probably an even higher risk of these being fake since a brand name sells more easily and you also probably have to pay a price that is more close to buying the "same" in a legit store. That said there are probably a lot of fake cards out there of both known brands and noname brands. Using the same exact packaging is smart though even if it was a genuine brand product so i would expect even the big brands to do that, i certianly would i i were them.

Unfortunately I'm seeing this video after I purchased this and transferred all my data from my phones internal storage to my new 256gig sd card I bought from temu. After I successfully transferred the data I noticed all my videos were blank!! All corrupted!! All 800+ priceless memories of my daughter gone forever 😡 😡 😡 words can't describe how pissed off I am

Im. No expert ...but I don't feel good about using cards over 32 Gb
That's just me .also me
If you want TERABYTES of storage ..why not opt for a nice external drive for the cost of 5 or 10 32 gb cards . Sticking with SanDisk . I can't bring myself to shop where they sell women's lingerie for 69 cents .
