Good morning from Nashville, Sinatra Lennon. "We're just here to shoot the breeze and shave." Yep! That's what keeps me coming back. Thank you, sir.
"In 1840, the J.B. Williams Company in Glastonbury , Connecticut, manufactured soap under the name Ivorine. Williams decided to focus on its shaving soap and sold Ivorine to Procter & Gamble, which later developed Ivory."... It turns out that Ivory and Williams Mug Soap are distant relatives. So, I guess it makes some sense that you can shave with Ivory soap. It's funny that the end of the plastic handle of that razor is tapered like that. It almost reminds me of the profile of the "Toggle" razors. Enjoyed the video. William C. central Indiana.
Thank you so much for my birthday shout out a few weeks ago Sinatra 😃. I had a great day and hearing your shout out made it even better, thank you 😊
You are so welcome
I love the Gillette Slim Twist just because it is the razor my Grandfather shaved with.
I was fortunate to keep it.
I recently found a cigar box of some of my grandfather's odds and ends (who passed back in '99 at 73 years old) and it contained a 65 Slim Twist adjustable. I've been wanting to give it a try but it does need a little grunge cleaning, the head mostly. I need to look into how to clean up old razors so I can try out something my grandfather used for years, kind of like a connection to him since he died when I was fairly young and was a quiet man generally. One of my biggest regrets is not getting to know more about him while he was alive
@@procrastinator6902 I think the best way for you to connect to your grandfather is to clean his vintage Gillette Slim Twist and start to use it. Put it in hot water and dish detergent to begin with, not anything abrasive. Scrub it with a toothbrush and repeat the process. See if it comes out good.
The Slim Twist (along with the Tech) are my go to DE razors. They were my daily razors, basically. However, last year, something changed for me. I hurt my right arm and was, for around 6 weeks, only able to use my left one. Thus, I went and bought a Philips S9000 something something razor. The former top of the line model but heavily discounted because it was replaced by a new one (almost identical but different colouring scheme). And, I must admit, this thing has surprised me. It feels mild but you can get very close in less than 2 minutes. No irritations, no in grown hairs which were a problem with the old electric razors I have tried. The technology behind them has advanced quite a bit, it seems, if you pick the top of the line models. Since then, I am using the DE for the experience on weekends but when I have to work, only electric. I kind of miss the DE shave but then I think about the time gained. Anyways, take care ;).
Great ShowAwesome shout-outs
A fine shave, this is a excellent razor, managed to bag one from a antique shop a few years ago for £10, also love the Personna blade.
Cheers🍻🥃
What up Sinatra, I love watching your videos. And thanks for helping me discover the Twig
My father in law until he passed in 2017, he would take the soap slivers from the shower, bathroom, kitchen etc...and would put those in his shave mug. Never had a bad shave, and used his brush...great guy!
Happy Monday, love the show and the historical razors
Love your videos. Started last week with a King C Gillette. Ordered a Rockwell T2 and Feather Blades. First time set it to 2. Got some nicks. Still learning but loving it.
Mister Lennon, shaving with a Beatles razor. He loves it. Yeah, yeah, yeah !
Thank you for another great video Mr. Lennon!
After seeing your shave with the 1966 Gillette Slim Twist non-adjustable razor, I had to get one, so I did, minus the fancy-schmantzy case------Paired it with an Edwin Jagger brush------Battle of the Bands!
I like the Personna blades. They're a part of my regular rotation along with the Astra green's. But as always, YMMV. Have a good week.
Cool looking razor. Great video and chat Senor. JohnShaves101 is an amazing channel and John is so uplifting.
I had the chance to get one recently, kindly given by a neighbour who is moving and therefore was getting rid of unused items.
For me this is the ultimate TTO head as far as the shaving quality is concerned, and I have tried out a few. Just a pity the handle is plastic, yet a proof that even a frugally manufactured razor can deliver an outstanding shave.
I watch almost every video of yours but I rarely do leave a comment. However, it's fascinating to me that I am watching you from a place called Oman (that you might never heard of). You are one of the few who has quite entertaining rants going on while shaving, so thank you! :D
I have heard of Oman! Glad you’re here. I appreciate the comment. Cheers!
There are a lot of the Beatles Gillette razors in Romania, my guess is the whole eastern Europe as they were a phenomenon here.
Kilroy was here (ducks are pretty messy but as long as you keep their water clean for the most part it should help keep the smell down, also wood shavings help a lot….)
SINATRA-Lennon, 62 this Saturday the 28th,, my asks why i watch another guy shave, I don’t have an answer but i like your videos, Cheers !
Yaaaay. You remembered the 101 😂😂😂😂👍👍😁🤓, YEAH SAMNIE oops lefts caps on 😬, hasa channel too, havea great week brian 😁👍👍
Hello John. Brian described you n your channel really well. 🏴👍
I finally did something right! Cheers, mate.
Thanks for the shave. I grew up along the Hudson in Yonkers NY. Otis elevator yes, Domino Sugar yes, but I don't think Osage Rub lol
It is the Hudson River, I live near it in upstate NY.
Always fun watching your shaving videos. stay safe cheers....Peter
We live next door to a lady who raises ducks. It does smell bad from time to time. But we have grown accustomed after 3 years....... Though, I doubt having two would cause much of an issue. Good luck.
Re: your use of 60s slang when doing the Liverpool accent: check out Trevor Noah's bit about when he was trying to speak German.
Some great shaving you-tubers, but you’ll always be the best to me! Always make me laugh! 😂👍
Thought of you listening to the Beatles Sirius channel this weekend 😂👌
Eeyyy the osage rub is back. I got a bottle myself purely from watching your videos and that stuff is no joke, the cooling sensation is great
I did too. It is great!!!
Ordered a bombay shaving company razor after seeing ur review and just while checking ur channel came across a video u posted 11 min ago!!! Wow 🙂🙂🙂
I just picked one up in mint condition for 10e... 😊
What is the ring on your right hand and I want an hour long explanation please go to the places and comment on all the things
You make shaving with a safety razor look so easy. I’m 21 and my facial hair grows in pretty thick and dark in some places but not others, so I usually have to shave every 2-4 days. I also have extremely sensitive skin and would get horrible razor burn for 5 blade razors. I finally got a safety razor for christmas, which has definitely helped lessen the razor burn. But I also find it extremely difficult to fully shave certain places of my face. Between my lower lip and ball of my chin, jawline, adams apple, and right underneath my nose. I also still get some acne and have seriously bled from shaving over that compared to a 5 blade razor. Any tips for getting those hard to reach places?
SinatraLennon: not a lot going on upstairs
OH MAN I NEED THIS RAZOR!!!!!
nice shave SL !! Is the razor white or a cream color? Is it made in England?
Yea i remeber that video that was my first shout out
Those ducks are going to poop on everything. Every fifteen minutes. Thanks to you I now know something new. Buy him the gorilla. Now that my friend would be one heck of a shaving show. Sinatra and friends.
Hi Sinatra. Your old pal Darren from Birmingham England. I recieved a Q shaves adjustable razor for xmas & I'm sure its magnetic. I learned how to clean my razors watching your videos 😂 if I deep clean a q shaves razor will it loose its magnetic force
Hi enjoy you channel very much I mention you on my channel and called you Sinatra lemon I looked later and found out it is Lennon, sorry getting old eyes don't work as good anymore 😅 smooth Shaves to Ya. ALEX
What New Rockwell razor?????
Not sure if it is the razor or the blades. I’ve use Personna but they just were in a plain wrapper and said made in the USA on the blade itself and they were fantastic. Ahhh the Osage Rub have not seen that in awhile. Please don’t get a gorilla for your son. Well Magilla might be ok. I wonder if that pet store owner is still trying to sell him?
Growing up leftovers weren't optional , in this economic climate they aren't in my house either. 😂
I am trying to find a slim Twist razor damn they are hard to find
They seem pretty easy to find online. You want the plastic handle type or the Slim Adjustable metal one he also displayed?
Hey dude nice 👍😊🙂 shave. Watching All American series on CW 4.2 in San Antonio hoping you have a fair week talk soon in Austin. Yours truly Jeffery. Sorry the Dallas Cowboys lost against San Francisco. Routing for the better team against Philadelphia. Laters.
Oh yes, routing for KC next weekend. Take care.
Hello buddy great video i einjoy it very much i hope you have a great day today and tomorrow also cheers 🥃
Amway's dynamite rezor is the best.
Nice Help! Reference BTW...
A nostalgic razor. You should have used Barbasol to make it a nostalgic shave. BTW, if I didn't like leftovers, I'd be a lot skinnier 😉 PS: Get him the ducks. Skip the gorillas.
What is the capital of Greenland? Nuuk Nuuk Nuuk 😀
Barbasol and shave soap
Your an elvis fan well unfortinally his only daughter passed away
Being plastic I'd imagine these razors are hard to come by
I’m glad you liked the old fashion shaving 🪒 cream with 🦡 brush.
I'm at work at the moment not my fault LOL
