Hey hey! My hours of Beatle watching and listening has not been in vain. Also, I’ve visited your fair city twice. Had a bit too many ciders down the Cavern and paid the price the next morning!
Love the 325 in the background, the two channels collide (sorta). I just started safety razor shaving last week after 5 years of being plagued with razor burn after using cartridge razors, and had a great experience, first time I got bad razor burn and didn’t shave until later that week, but every time I’ve shaved since then I’ve enjoyed myself more and more, and done get razor burn at all, keep up the great work!
Rubber Soul, Pet Sounds, Sgt Pepper, and Smile (sessions) are the greatest albums of all time. I wonder if there are any pictures of Brian Wilson shaving. More Ringo stories, please. Even if we’ve heard them a thousand times, let’s make it a million! Love that Rickenbacker!

Hello good day! I'm from colombia and i love The Beatles and be shaving so nice day to day; but you make a history class talk about the shaving. Good job.
Just found your videos and I love watching them. They are very calming in these weird days 😂. Anyways, best wishes from Hamburg/Germany. When the Coronavirus is over, definitely come to this city, we have a lot to offer ;).
SinatraLennon No, I won’t tell her 😂. Maybe you are interested in how I found your channel. My parents were replacing their bathroom cabinets a couple of weeks ago. Somewhere in the back of some drawer there was this old Gillette (Made in Germany). I could not find out which model that was. Has a butterfly mechanism and is quite heavy. Must have been a relatively popular model because you can find them on eBay in Germany for around 15€ to 30€, depending on condition etc. This razor was bought by my great-grandfather and according to my grandfather he used it almost exclusively up until he was getting older and an electric razor was much more convenient for him. Than my grandfather got it but also relatively quickly switched to a Braun electric razor. Now, after almost 30 years, I have found it and was intrigued by it. But I did not know how to use it and boom, I found you. The first time was a bit „bloody“ (Muhahaha) but after 2 to 3 times I had no problems. It is just a bit of getting used to it and losing the feeling of being afraid. Very nice and mild razor. Sad that Gillette does not produce those kind of product anymore...
It's also called " The Knack'' and came in White and blue handles. There in the tapered style you have and also a straight round barrel handle . Gillette wanted to capture a part of the cheap TTO market vs the Schick Krona. It was sold in a package as a FREE razor with a box of razors . Amazing.
No, it's not. This is the "Slim Twist". Later on, in '70s, Giillette England launched the "Super Slim Twist". Quite different. This "Super Slim Twist" was copied by Gillette USA, launching "The Knack".
The Beatles are my favorite band as well, in that scene where they were shaving that was funny when John Lennon was in the bathtub, lol. I have wondered what they shaved with, I googled it and found this video.
Hey SinatraLennon! Great shave and pretty entertaining story behind it. BTW you cannot buy Palmolive shaving stick in Europe anymore, it seems PaulHfilms bought them all, lol.
Love your vid ‘s my dads claim to fame was he was the support band to the Beatles when they played in Rhyl north wales 1960’s , you have a great John Lennon accent you made me laugh , cheers to you from wales uk ( Denbigh Paul H country )
speaking of your other channel. i've searched on/off for months, and nothing. i can find your name, your private twitter account, your wiki page and your work. but that youtube channel is a freaking mystery!
Also in the movie George uses what looks like an Old Spice Smooth Shave cream, but I guess trying to find that one will be even harder than the palmolive
My late grandfather - which was my very best buddy until he passed away when I was 8 or 9 - had a G1000 Slim Twist (the one with the thin, pencil-like, blue handle) and now that I found that it was what it was, I will have to have one. I thought it was a Wilkinson Sword safety razor (since those were the blades he used and I remembered the name somehow) but there wasn't such a thing and while "surfing" on Ebay I found it was a Gillette Slim Twist G1000. I wish it wasn't thrown away when he passed, if I remember right it had no pitting or anything in the head, it was smooth...even despite being used as toy by me sometimes (without blade, of course).
I recently acquired a brand new Gillette Super Slimtwist from the 70s on eBay. It's a good little shaver. On mine, the handle is black and is not as fat.
Hi SL. If I had a nickel for every time I listened to Sergeant Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band I`d be a billionaire. Great were those days. Great shave. Thank you.👍
Can you shoot the video of how to clean and sanitize used safety razor? Would be cool, in my country there is a "marketplace" called a Dry Bridge where they sell old soviet items and I've seen them selling vintage soviet safety razors, but they were heavily used and I brought one but dont know how to sanitize it, also i would love to send you one to test it out!
I'm a huge Beatles fan, as well. I follow a couple tribute bands who tour here in the east. 1964 and the RAIN show. Any of your music videos posted? Did you watch GET BACK documentary on Disney+ ?
Just got your reply to check out this video. Glad you're into music dude. You have any music vids? The elvis stuff is cool man. What's your favorite Beatles tune?
The US version of the Slim Twist is known as 'Knack' and has a better dark blue handle that is completely round & tapered a little less than the Brit version. It's a mild razor, similar to the Schick Krona.
Hey Bob, nice video, GILLETTE Slim twist is very good razor. About music 1° FRANK 2° SIMON & GARFUNKEL 3° ABBA...and many others obviously...a big hug from COVID19 country. Ciao
I became a Beatles fan before it was cool...for people who were born when John Lennon was already dead. John and I missed each other by a few months. I'm not a Beatles memorabilia collector, but I understand the appeal. I even understood the Japanese guy in the "My brace Face" video when he said: It's my obsession. -- Maybe the Beatles were greater than Jesus, who knows. The Slim Twist is probably not, but my Slim Twist (I have a 1974 with a blue handle) gives me a better shave than any Parker. It feels a bit rougher on the skin than a Mühle R89 or any similar contemporary closed bar razor, but I find it quite efficient. Handle is light weight compared to that of a Parker TTO or one of those modern stainless bathroom floor kickers, but for me, the head does the job anyway. I actually like the twist wheel over instead of at the end of the handle because I am less likely to twist it accidentally open when I'm doing a body shave, for which I sometimes hold the very end of the razor. -- For some reason, the Fab Four shaving with identical white Slim Twists is a symbol of the uniformity that came with the band's original image. Identical suits, almost identical mop tops, John Lennon did not wear glasses and no facial hair yet, unless you count sideburns as such. After 1966 or so, their outward appearance became increasingly diverse and it mirrored the individual ways they went. George was exploring Eastern mysticism, John and Paul married women who had a profound influence of them, released solo albums and Ringo...Ringo had blisters on his fingers.
