I was there when this was done. The was just 80 to 100 strong and it was brilliant. Robert gave up his time to raise money for charity. There are people on here who are moaning, one idiot calls him 'an old goat'. Another says he doesn't do much for charity. He raises thousands of GBP pounds every year. As a local, we see Robert out and about quite regularly. He and his family are lovely people. If you can't say anything good, then say nothing at all.
Same here. Brilliant and on top form. The band did well and were talented in their own right. I remember the 'Busking Bobby's'' singer saying immediately after Robert left, "How do I follow that".
What a gem of a find - makes the Internet worthwhile 😂 I had to laugh when what looked like a nurse walked across the camera, oblivious to the fact that the ultimate "rock god" was feet away!! Wonderful!
Those officers were probably so thrilled to be playing with the great Robert Plant, even if he didn't know a couple of the songs very well, he did his very best as always and he's just so charming and his harmonica, love that!
I was there when this was done. It was in the local Swan shopping center and started at 12pm. The crowd was just 80 to 100 strong. Robert was on top form, as was the band. The band were all serving police officers. Their band was called 'The Busking Bobbies'. Robert was there with his daughter, Carmen. He completed his few songs he then left and went to his local pub which I won't name on here.
I worked in Kidderminster Architect dept on a year out placement in the early 70's and always remember a chap coming back into the office casually saying ''i've just seen Robert plant driving through town''...i was so jealous. He's a west midlands man.
I’ve been told by someone who’s closely related to Plant that the extent of his charitable altruism reaches far more than what is revealed publicly. I have no way to confirm this but it doesn’t seem to be all that implausible.
Celebrities don’t all or alway talk about charitable work they do. I heard he donated Covid supplies, I don’t know what or how much, but if he could obtain it a decent amount. He a good man, & actually cares about people, more then many celebrities.
@@sicotshit7068 that's true..I doubt Robert likes to call attention to himself for everything he does in helping people...Robert has a very kind heart..

Aww, so cute singing in his hometown. He got rid of that 80's hairdo and went back to his glorious curls. He sounds great, especially on Rock and Roll and All Along The Watchtower, Zep should've done that in one of their shows.
Plant's fucking TOO COOL FOR SCHOOL. That would be like me, walking into the Roseville Galleria and seeing Robert Plant singing Spirit in the Sky! WTF?
There's also another video of him on youtube singing Elvis songs at a wedding, then Dee Snider gets up and sings a couple of cover songs including a version of Led Zeppelin's 'Rock and Roll'.

This is very cool,Plant can sing anything, and his harmonica playing is great, and never really gets credit for it. The band is pretty good for a bunch of cops
I love his harmonica playing, I wish he had done more of it during his Zeppelin days, there were so few songs he played it. I think it was great, he sang the songs they knew how to play, even though he didn’t really know the words. Made it more fun & exciting, love his humor too.
Used to live in Kidderminster until I was 6 only thing I'm proud of about living in Kidderminster is Robert Plant. I left there in 82 I wish I was there that day.
He looked like a very sexy sharp dressed man, so YUMMY. Though I loved how sexy he looked at the (1973) Madison Square Gardens concerts too. Definitely a golden God.
@@jims.6393 I'm not sure, they did hold other type events there. Back then, the sound systems wasn't that great, I guess it helped as close as we were though.
Well done, Robert... for charity's sake first and foremost. I've heard he was "encouraged" to participate after a DUI incident the night prior? In any event, how wonderful he sounds in his natural voice, and not "pushing" it as he historically had to do on the "hits" of the Zeppelin catalogue. And he finally had the assertiveness and leverage to put "Rock and Roll" at the end of sets rather than the beginning. Not to mention, "Every Breath You Take" isn't in the best key for him, yet he still pulls it off well. His intro to "Rock and Roll" also sheds insights into how intimidating challenging vocals were for him in live performance.

From Knebworh to a shopping centre and the same commitment. Hats off to you Robert. Memories of Kirklevington Country Club!

That was a nice harmonica solo he played! And I think it caught the band off guard.
At least the drummer seems to partially have Bonzo’s mustache?
No, wait they all do & those are copstaches!
Thank You. РОБЕРТУ 40 в 1989. А я сына родила Александра.😁💝
He's quite good on the harmonica!
When RP first visited Jimmy Page's river house, Jimmy was impressed with his harmonica skills. 💙🎶💙
He’s a very great harmonica player, sadly he didn’t play it on enough Led Zeppelin songs though.
The last time I seen Plant, with Zeppelin, I Louisville KY April 25, 1977. This is cool.

31 years ago today.
This was before cell phones so people couldn't call their friends and friend's friends so 90000 people would show up in 15 minutes.

There must be some kind of way outta here
Said the joker to the thief
There's too much confusion
I can't get no relief
Business men, they drink my wine
Plowmen dig my earth
None will level on the line
Nobody offered his word
Hey, hey
No reason to get excited
The thief, he kindly spoke
There are many here among us
Who feel that life is but a joke
But, uh, but you and I, we've been through that
And this is not our fate
So let us stop talkin' falsely now
The hour's getting late, hey
Hey
All along the watchtower
Princes kept the view
While all the women came and went
Barefoot servants, too
Well, uh, outside in the cold distance
A wildcat did growl
Two riders were approaching
And the wind began to howl, hey
All along the watchtower
