My first "serious" bike was a Trek, purchased in 1979 from a small, local bike shop that was also just starting out. 45 years later that shop is the largest and best-respected shop in town, and still selling Treks (and also the Cannondale that I currently ride). I was looking at ordering a Ramblas online until I discovered another small local shop that carries them. I just visited the shop, had a nice chat with "Ben", and planned to test-ride a Ramblas next week. So it's looking like deja vu all over again: I'll be buying a bike from the new-kid-on-the-block bike builder through the new-kid-on-the-block bike shop. Here's hoping history repeats itself for this new brand and bike shop and for my long-term enjoyment of the bike... I still have the '79 Trek. Support your local bike shop!
Theres a lot to said about the Fisher diamond frame on the Trek. Its proven and along with propriotory aluminum alloy will handle rougher trails rhan the Ramblas. Also, there is very little noise on the Trek as well with no battery or cable rattle. The frame is probably more robust too.
I'd look at reviews that test each bike instead of reading out specs. For example, several reviews doing a range test confirm Aventon's range estimates on level ground - even exceed it on paved surfaces.
Just ordered the trek Marlin+ . I never heard of the other bike. Not sure where I would get it serviced if I went with the the new bike manufacturer. I do know trek stands behind their bike even when they are out of warranty.
I was really offended my g when you said suntor and rochshox were the same. No no no Suntor is the cheap entry level suspension brand there suspension is horrid, there higher end ones are decent. Rochshox are better and higher end. Night and day different. great video dude!
Got a ramblas last week. It's a lot of fun to ride and will climb any hill with ease with that groupset.
The removable battery was a factor for me because my 1UP bike rack is limited to 50 lbs max. Removing the battery should get the Aventon under 50 lbs.

Wishy washy review.. didn’t show the Trek
Hands down the Aventon, not to mention the ride tune from the app.

Tough call, i would think the Aventon has more power, but Trek has a nicer frame add mountain bike heritage, this is Aventon's first mountain bike.

@@JasonTaylor-po5xc and if you're going to spend that kind of money, you might as well spend a little more and go with the full suspension,
The Aventon has double the torque power (100 nm vs 50 nm) - this is a clear win for Aventon.
1st year out with that Aventon motor - not a clear win.
Also, more likely to have a Trek dealer nearby than an Aventon,

Yea , Rockshox lowest compared to the majority of Suntour you are right .
