This Is Important is undoubtedly my favorite podcast. I’ve listened to or watched every single episode. Definitely the best podcast out there. Boarder for life!
Hey, I learnt to skate at 48 from scratch, that was 6 yrs ago, and I'm still going. I had a day off today but I usually skate everyday. So it's possible for old guys to start. I've nearly got FS disaster on a 4ft quarter, but flip tricks and big spin tricks on flat ground still elude me.
That's rad dude, skateboarding has been one of the most challenging and rewarding things I've ever gotten into. I'm in my 50s and have been skating since I was 15. I can't do all the tricks I used too, but I still have fun!
@James M It's extremely challenging and turns out, it's one of the best things to prevent mental decline, not skateboarding exactly, but dynamic, outdoor activity in a novel environment. Steven Kotler was on about cognitive decline as we age in his book and on podcasts.
You can tell that Blake,Adan, and Ders are actually great friends in real life by how well Workaholics turned out and how natural their eneegy is with eachother is in the show. Its my fav show of ALL TIME!
Jason, you've made me a sad panda. I'm 45, I want to start skating. I've posted about it before. I'm that kid Tony talked about, when Back to the Future came out, got the Valterra board, pads, and then got chased off by the local skater kids for being a nerd. This was very early days, the community hadn't learned to be universally accepting.
I started learning to skate at 27- I'm almost 30 now. I can tell you that it's not easy starting at this age, but the struggle of getting up to the physicality to be able to skate every single day for at least an hour, forced me to be in the best shape of my life. I have probably like 7% body fat, if that, and my Crohn's disease hasn't given me issues basically since I started skating. However, I do have to go to work after rolling my ankle and getting shinners, and that's not the most fun. But even that has showed me how to push through the pain and learn how my body works and recovers even more. Skating is everything. P.S. I really wanna meet Tony to thank him for everything- I did sign up for that "meet Tony" jawn

Save you the trouble of googling and for those who were wondering- Bill Paxton: Predator 2 character was Jerry Lambert. For all those who have no idea what Predator 2 is. Go watch it right after this episode.
Those Diamond Shruumz gummies do not have psilocybin mushrooms in them so Jason was misinformed. They have other types of mushrooms that aren't psychedelic. They do have Hexahydrocannibinol (HHC) though which is a cannabinoid that can get you high.
All I remember about Amsterdam was that I ordered a hot cocoa with hash. The next thing I remember, it was a week later and I was running late for my flight.
11:43 "Sharks are the oldest thing that's ever been around for the longest time." Hahaha I'll take this quote to the grave in a belly of a Whale Shark lol
if you're not trying to make friends, you can bet against the player on craps. You'll make money in the long run as you're betting with the casino, but you definitely won't make friends. Remember to tip the dealer.
I very rarely go to see movies anymore. I'm telling you right now if Workaholics made a movie I would go to the theatre to watch it out of pure anticipation. Please, whoever, make it happen.
@@smokey6292 The earliest evidence of shark fossils dates back as far as 450 million years, which means these creatures have been around at least 90 million years before trees and 190 million years before dinosaurs.

@@darinmitchell6650 Always.
When they were talking about music I was soooo hoping they would bring up The Wizards. Straight Outta Mordor is awesome.
I love how Blake always sports the Oakland A's hat, reppin the East Bay!
Did you see when he posted that Matt Chapman signed a ball for him, I think he wrote 420 or something on it lol
One of the A's player said they watch Game Over, Man every night when they go to bed 😂
Been a fan of Blake since the Young Zeld days.

I'm glad to see Blake on the most 90s pod there is
So glad Predator 2 was mentioned. Bill Paxton was the only actor in a Predator, Alien and Terminator movies. Legend 🔥
Man I just found out about this pod a week ago. I've been binging the episodes since. You guys are dope! Dope episode!
Thesaurus? ;)
this podcast is criminally underrated
Dope comment!
They should make 3 workaholics movies and put them out all at once
Like Ders, Adams, and Blakes perspective from the same crazy night lol
@@jethropcoletrain5299 hell yeah, anything lol

17 minutes in, and Tony is quietly freaking out. Amazing.

This is a very important podcast
I like how Jason is continuously trying to figure Blake out. After the whole theater thing... "Can you bowl?"
The editor is great, loving the name tags

Did not expect Blake to have every hair except the moustache. Love ya though.
Never would have expected a promotion for mushrooms on a podcast with Tony Hawk
Ellis is my spirit animal

Yo!!! I think if Theo Von & Andy Anderson had a baby…it might be Blake Anderson.
That’s sick you have a clip from skate street in your intro

Blazer rocking the Abe Lincoln beard
