Hey inside sim racing. I just bought a t300 gte it's really a good wheel. But he really makes a loud sound out of the engine. Is this normal ?
dutch NFS Gaming Is it a fan noise or something else ?
Yes. it happens most of the time when i do my FFB on
If you're talking about the T300RS, I have the TX (very similar wheel) and it's totally normal to hear the fan running while you're racing. If the game is at a loading screen you can probably hear it but as long as it isn't loud enough to hear during a race then I'd say everything is fine. If you haven't updated your wheels firmware to the latest version I suggest doing so as the newest update makes the fan shut off when the wheel cools down instead of never shutting off like it used to do.
Perfect timing with this video man.....I just got 2 DSD adapters for my TX, one for my modified G27 rim and another for a suede D shaped rim
great video darin, thank you for covering this
ridiculedrifts thanks and my pleasure !
Inside Sim Racing can the tmx do the same
No, with the TMX you can't swap out the rim.
Thanks! lol
I am David b, thanks for putting my wheel in the video it made my day:)
davebell771 my pleasure David !
Great video Darin. What I did was use the DSD adapter and put one of the Fanatec rims meant for their modular wheel hub. I have the classic rim and now I'm looking to get the GT rim. Put a quick release on the DSD adapter and ...BAM. Quick release action with a larger diameter wheel rim. Plus, if I ever upgrade to the CSW V2 I will already have the rims I like. :-)
SnappyDee2O4F Great idea ! Thanks for sharing
Great review, I recently bought an 300mm Oreca racing wheel plus an DSD adapter and an slim quick release, it´s a good solution if have more than one wheel, and if you order one from China is cheap too. The DSD adapter is great, but I recommend sanding the threads before you attach it to the base.
TheVblaster Where did you get that Oreca wheel?
idaanx Hi, you can get one from their site www.oreca-store.eu/cockpit/steering-wheels/steering-wheels.html
It is possible to use the Xbox controller while using the tx, it gives you all the button functions except for steering and accel/braking. Just make sure you have a shifter if you plan to get an aftermarked wheel.
DriftGamingHD No, you can use it for chat though
Inside Sim Racing I use it to get thought menus and works to move the camera playing Forza. So, yeah, it works.
I have it plugged via a usb cable, by the way.
Nice video Darin. I'll be honest I have no interest in attaching a rim like this, but I do find it interesting how many different ways there are to go about doing it. Have a good day.
If you keep your controller to one side or mount it near your shifter/wheel you’re never really short on buttons, in saying that, would they still work minus Dpad? Or would the console not recognise the buttons..
You cannot do this with fanatec as they put the controller in the rim, not the base, you have to either attach a fanatec wheel or use their universal hub or the base won't work. You can get adapters to put a fanatec rim on a non fanatec base, but not the other way round.
So I'm using the DSD adapter along with a 320mm MOMO Prototipo wheel on my T300RS for PS4. It works fine. I keep the stock T300RS wheel attached to the servo until I'm all the way into the sim (project cars). Once I'm ready to drive I just swap out the rims & I'm ready to go. I just use controller to navigate thru the menus. :)
Awesome! Been waiting for this video for over a week. Totally worth it.
Inside Sim Racing Hey Darin, do you know of any mods for the T300 which adds a rally style paddle shifter? You know, the single huge paddle shifter on the right of which you pull to upshift and push to downshift? I've been looking for one but haven't had much success.
BiskutKibal I think Steve Spenceley is working on something like that.
Awesome Video my dude!!! Say Can I use just the wheel only??? Im in a wheelchair paralyzed from waist down. Thanks
Can I use the gte adapter with just the basic t300rs PlayStation wheel? Or do I have to get a gte wheel?
You need the gte rim
I’m surprised thrustmaster haven’t really improved in this amount of time. The cost of the gran tourismo exclusive unit to me indicates they’re funding a large scale project? Budget DD? We all know it’s about the feel and not total torque, so going from a t300base to say a 15lb DD would be perfect, and would explain all the crowd funded DD units of the same concept just “failing”
Failing in this case means being bullied or paid to stop manufacture.
The srhardware adapter is still the best here imo, there are more suitable rims than the one Darin used, making extensions for the paddles isnt the hardest thing to do either.
What was the final outcome of the TX modded circuit on the rim? I'm debating to cut up my spare rim circuit board and then utilising it to make my own button faceplate for my TM300 so i can keep the connector etc.
Thanks for all the great info Darin. Keep up the good work.
Any video showing T300RS wheel connected to G27 pedals with adapter ? Is this combination works for Project Car on PS4 ?
Ng Foo Sin Steve I will be posting a video like that soon
Ng Foo Sin Steve This is exactly what I've been using since Project Cars was released on PS4 . I have the Ricmotech adapter and it works great. Absolutely no issues. Certainly better than stock t300 pedals.
+Inside Sim Racing For those of us that may not care about padle shift functionality, can you use a regular controller on the side in conjunction with the first cheaper adapter for navigation, etc. on Xbox one specifically Forza 6? using a similar size or EXACTLY the same wheel I have in my race car is the biggest concern, thanks.
How does the DSD Quick attach work with no computer? I own one but doesn’t work
How do I put a dash behind my wheel, on the Thrustmaster Tx? Or how do I make the steering wheel come out further
helo
to remove the round cover of the servo t300r two cables with clavij appear with a rubber tied .for they are ????
iban fernandez pull that bitch out
Can it be possible to adapt a fanatec rim like mclaren with all buttons available on t300 wheel ase?
Hi, great video!
I'm curious about that Hubert this guys Steve was making, does it work with consoles yet? Verry interestedin that one
Hi Darin, thanks for the video. I'm looking for a while for a custom wheel. I already have a gte rim so I'd like to reuse that electronic in order to save money. What rim do you think is the best for buttons and paddles accessibility?
Pustul The one I got which is the Genesis 290mm Formula Rim, or the Momo Mod 26 or Mod 27 would work
Pustul Here's another option as well ua-cam.com/video/J1IaPemCyO0/v-deo.html
Pustul Thanks for taking the time tor reply and for the suggestions. I like the Momo wheels a lot, unfortunately the price is less attractive :) I'll wait a bit and go with it I think.
Thanks Darin, excellent vid, just what I needed. Regarding the 350mm wheel, do you still feel enough force feedback through it? I want to buy a similar one but I'm concerned that it will make the FFB feel weak.
J_SAMa Yes, it's light enough that I feel everything through it.
J_SAMa Oh and my pleasure on the video ! Glad you liked it
thanks!!
+Inside Sim Racing can you use the NRG wheel with the sim racing adapter on a t300rs? @Inside Sim Racing
Can you use the deep dish rim with 3D printed adapter on Xbox ?
Hey great video! On your NASCAR setup. Where can I get a H pattern for my th8a shifter?
I have a question about sam maxwell wheels,
If i take the wheel from his website 494$ and the shifter paddles 40$, is this wheel then ready to drive when i got it shipped or do i need to buy something that it works on the t500?
This video is good but i don't understand english that well.
If someone can help me, then just do it ;)
Greets Max
i don't use the screw on the collar of the quick release on the t300rs, it's a waste of time imho. but fine if your displaying the wheel at a public event etc, i find it easy enough to check that its tight after a race, havent had it loosen itself of once yet though tbh.
I have had the collar come loose during a race cause that screw wasn't tight
If i whant to play on Xbox cant i just use a controlee for the buttons?
Can the thrustmaster tmx have an adapter for aftermarket steering wheels too
where can i get a shift plate like you have on your nascar set up?
the padels on the mod 27 seem to be replacable you should try to find bigger ones like they have for the g27
ovidio vasquez I thought about it but will stick with these for now. I already have a lot of money tied up in it.
Hey guys I've been looking to buy a Fanatec wheel and I was wondering in terms of general performance excluding compatibility and all the extras, how the 911 GT2 wheel stacks up against the 911 GT3 RS V2 wheel and is it worth the extra $70 to get the 911 GT2?
Unless you're getting the clubsport you'd be better off with a T500
David Stewart I don't really have the money to buy a T500 let alone Clubsport, so i figure that these Fanatec wheels are the best in the class below the T500s and Clubsports
If you buy one of the cheap fanatec wheels in the back of your mind you'll always be wondering if paying that little bit extra would have been worth it. I did the same thing. The T500 is insane and in a whole other league than the porsche wheels. Definitely worth that bit extra and it will last a lot longer too. If you can't afford it though then go for the TX. The FFB is sometimes better than the T500 but the pedals don't come with a clutch.
David Stewart Thanks for the advice, I'll think about it
***** Gear drive vs belt drive. g27 is a reliable and cheap wheel, but not a better wheel.
Can you also put on a rim from a Mercedes for example?
I have the Sparco 285 :), just cuz I had the same on my formula car :D, nice stuff Darin!
DG53 Thanks, what adapter are you using ?
What wheel do you prefer running every day?
antnx For the PC the SimXperience Accuforce.. PS4/PS3 = T300 and the XBox One TX
I’m still wondering about how “high quality” the NRG Steering Wheel is, I’ve watched a few videos about them being flimsy and not all one piece, should I worry about it breaking if I use it on a simulator, or should it be fine?
Hey Darin great video, so Sam Maxwell wheels does not work with Xbox one? thanks
+Welinton Payano No, but this guy Steve Spenceley makes an XBox One compatible setup. sim-racing-engineering.com/
+Inside Sim Racing thank you
how do u make a hand break for xbox one ive seen some but i dont know how to make it?
Look up Jesse Strader, his channel has some tutorials
Why No Put Your Car Inside Your House And Replace The Steering Wheel With A Gaming Steering Wheel?
is there a tutorial for how to mount it to the Ferrari 458 wheel
do the deep dish work ob forza? without the buttons?
+Øyvind bjørkavåg (Fantabjorn) You may be able to use the buttons on the gamepad, but you need to shift, etc
would you recommend thrustmaster or logitech wheels
Kyle Swords
Logitech if you wanna flex your money and wasting it, Thrustmaster if you want a sturdy but no so good looking and a budget steering wheel.
Where did you get the momo wheel
How could I put a custom wheel on for a tmx?
Can I use adapters for tmx? plz answer
No
***** How did you get your TH-A shifter to be a 4 speed?
Greg25RS From this guy : rightongates.com/
What are those control panels?
Like on 4:42
button boxes go to simracinghardware.com/product-category/button-boxes/
Can i use that adaptors too for t150 pls answer
I will love it to work, but ill be a pain in the ass...
Diego Olivera I have no experience with one but if the stock rim is not detachable it does not work
Does this work on the ps4?
Do it working to the t150?
No
the music during the video. turn it waaaaaaaay down. or bail on it completely.
Ok so i didnt hear any music during the video so im assuming you had another tab opened with some music going xD
atheosxgaming It was a little hot but you can still hear me clearly. Sorry if it was too much for you.
Lol i watched the whole thing and didnt hear any music. Random comment, mate
it wasnt necessarily too much. just i felt it could have been toned down. like u see most didnt notice it anyways. just some feedback without saying ermaghad it sucked! lol
Where did you get the momo from, second hand
+Four All Bought it new
+Inside Sim Racing ok, will that wheel work with an Xbox one
+Four All Not without some modification. A guy I mentioned during this show was supposed to make me a console compatible aftermarket rim but has had some health issues.
+Inside Sim Racing can you make a video on it once he's completed the adaptor. Thanks
+Four All you can use it on console you just have no buttons so use a controller.
Any one know where i can find that button Box in the video?
Derek Speare Designs
Thank you
at 0:45 what is that side panel device called?
a button box
Trevor 999 Thank you! ... Can you buy me one? Lol
idk where he got his but here is some simracinghardware.com/product-category/button-boxes/
Trevor 999 Thanks again!
thanks this really helps not my momo wheel is compatible with my Xbox thanks sim racing
it will work on Xbox one i think but you cant play the game cuz no buttons
Will this work for the TMX?
I need a shiftier got the T300 wheel cost me $100 can't see wanting to spend $300 on a Shiftier especially when you have kids that slam stuff on GTA I'm too Serious a Sim Racer for that .
Did I see a custom gate plate for th8a shifter?
Idk I think it was... I've never seen one like that.
Just searched th8a shifter gate and a link to isrtv came up about a company called right on gates I think. They look very good.
ste Kelly Yes, this is the guy rightongates.com/. His website isnt functional yet though and I heard he doesn't make them anymore.. DSD does but they are out of stock derekspearedesigns.com/t8rs-gate-plates.html
Speaking of wheel adapters you definitely forgot about these ;) www.ignitioncontrols.com/category-s/106.htm
TATARMK Didn't know about them.. Thanks for pointing them out.
Never needed the locking screw
It seems like if you're going to spend all that you should just get an Accuforce instead.
***** You can use most of those rims with an accuforce though too ;-)
ou trouver l adaptater svp
Just use the stock T300RS wheel its good enough
The Thurstmaster setups are so fucking expensive. The G27 has calibration problems. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn't.
Man you spend a lot of money on this stuff. You could replace your tx with a clubsport with that money.
$130 for 3 holes... Jesus man, they saw you coming a bloody mile off!
Looks like I'll be buying a gte adaptor...now to choose a rim...hmmmmmmmm
Mark Bond Make sure its under 300mm unless you can adapt it ;-)
Yeah the standard gte rim just feels a little small sometimes. A little bigger would be good!
if you have a 3dprinter you could download the adapter from thingiverse.. www.thingiverse.com/thing:976223
Works great!!
