This lovely old song, (written by Joseph Kosma in 1945) has been performed by SO many artists, vocally and instrumentally, and there are many albums entitled "Autumn Leaves," it's difficult to even guess how many. Beautiful tune, great lyrics, an old standard. Chet's version is different, but very a very nice representation of his talent! I really like it!
Chet made a connection with so many because people could feel his pain and he felt theirs. My wife cried one night when I was ptacticing my trumpet and she asked me why I played sad music so well. I don't know.

Love the best version of Autumn always. the vocals are varied, and taste like cold smoke. The flute is subtle, yet prominent. Baker's use of the Harmon Mute keeps things quiet after a very intoxicating flute and piano solo.
