I really like how polite and gentle the doctor is towards the patient... and explained everything so well... here in my country, there's just too many patients and doctors or nurses barely have time to explain stuff...
Also, I believe you should also ask the patient to look away from the site of the injection and to relax their arm as much as possible. Tensing up will result in the injection being painful.
Peter Downey You should ask for their preference. I, for example, hate looking away. I wanna know when it's gonna happen-I don't like to be surprised by the pain :D lol
Could you please do videos on Intravenous infusion including the prescription of fluids, Intravenous infusion of blood and blood products and performing and interpreting peak flow?
What type of injections are deeper injections ? What type are shallower ? Is it up to the person administering the injection to decide or is comfortable with ?
I really want to be a nurse, but watching injections makes me uneasy. Not as much watching IV's or blood draws. Do you think I will be able to overcome that?
It does feel uncomfortable when you're passively watching someone else do it because all you see is the big picture.(Someone getting pricked). When you are the one holding the needle, all you'll be thinking about is the technique and you won't feel queasy!
I gave a pneumococcal pneumonia vaccine to a patient today and he bled a little more than expected after I withdrew the needle from his deltoid. He didn’t aspirate when I got the needle in him and the vaccine left a bit of a lump. I can’t understand what I did wrong or if it went wrong.
I thought the guidance wasn't to aspirate anymore? Reasons being, people don't aspirate for long enough most of the time anyway and it increases discomfort massively. Have you heard this?
It’s part of your shoulder… it might be helpful for you to go over some A&P as a student! It makes learning and remembering landmarks easier if you have some basic anatomical knowledge

You know that this is just a staged video for teaching purposes and represent the ideal situation but not the reality?

@@annamuller4772 some people don't really mind looking at injection I don't mind it
It’s not needed. If a patient wants to look then that’s fine, if they don’t then they will look away 🤷♀️

What type of injections are deeper injections ? What type are shallower ? Is it up to the person administering the injection to decide or is comfortable with ?
shallower are generally vaccines, deeper are generally medications
love it, but I have a question ... how far do I have to insert the needle?
There isn't a simple answer here, it depends on the needle length and the patient's body.
wow i like how the doctor adviced by the patient thanks .❤❤💯💯
That was reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally *helpful* ! Thanks!
very educative
Can you tell me what length is considered short, not requiring aspiration?
Probably an IM injection in the deltoid or vastus lateralis of a thinner patient
Here wondering why people disliked this video 🤔
Same as a doctor
Bad memories maybe🥲
thanks
good
Thanks now i know sir.

The short answer is yes. I had similar uneasy feelings when watching. After you do several you will be comfortable.
yes you will adapt & become a monster

Some patients bleed more than others. Was he on anticoagulants etc.?
what happens if it accidentally gets in a vessel?
Start again
What did he use to clean the tray?
Thank you so much
Nice

As an enrolled nurse student can someone please simplify the acromial process to me
It will be hugely appreciated
