    Of all the topics I mentioned from the AnimC Epic Intensive, what sounds the most interesting to you?? :)

      The acting portion showing what to do and what not to do! Being amazing at your arcs, timing, spacing etc is nothing if your character's acting is bad.

      Animating for a live action environment sounds really interesting to me right now. All of them sounded great, but that one in particular.

    I participated in something similar in October last year. It was AMAZING! :D Great summary, thanks for that. My problem is still that I'm annoyed every time I open the program because I have to reactivate my hotkeys and my workspace. So I would be very interested in a video about how to set up Maya for Animation properly. :)

I have a request if you could make a detailed video on frame rates for animation, live action and vfx. like how stuff looks in different frame rates and why? and anything else relating to this topic will be super useful. Thanks in advance. :)

    Hey Sir, I have a question bout the video you've posted some time ago (animating with IK FK). I know how to create a switcher for IK/FK (for legs tho), but I have no idea how to make it snap poses from one system to another. Can't find it anywhere. It would be awesome if you'd have a second to answer this question some day, because I'm dying to use it in my rig.
    And thank you for your videos, they helped me a lot already! Keep up the good work and good luck with the channel and career!

    Hey great video! I'm all the way from London and it's very tempting to do a trip to Emeryville just for this! Wanted to ask you if you've tried the layered workflow Michal uses? I've only read about it but I'm very tempted to try it, there's not much on it I can find online but I think I know roughly how to do it...

    • @SirWade
      @SirWade  5 років тому

      I tried it for a walk cycle and it was WAY faster that what I would've done!! But I haven't yet tried it for myself on a real shot. I want to though! And the class is definitely worth the trip in my opinion. I'll be interviewing him soon, and if you have questions for him I'm going to be pulling audience questions from my Patreon audience :)

    helllo Sir Wade Neistadt,
    First, thank you for sharing your experience and giving interviews with others great animator, it's just priceless.
    I'm from France, already working in the industry, and the description you gave sounds very exciting ( just by being able to have instant feedback, seeing in real time how instructors works and so on...). I'm always ready to improve myself in any way but speaking about money, it's a very big investment.
    When it comes to "The Animation Collaborative", I went through there web site to check out the seven days Intensives Masterclasses. When you get on the first page....I've been surprise/ ( if not in shock ) about the photo and how many people were sitting there !
    I know you said there was about 26...27 students when you were there, do you know if it's still the case ?
    Because has the photo in there web site is showing up, I wonder if you don't loose this kind "interactivity" you where describing ?
    Thanks in advance for your answer.

  • @AmeAnimation
    @AmeAnimation 5 років тому

    Quick question:
    Is knowledge of a particular program necessary when looking for animation work? Or will a firm understanding of animation showcased is lineart be enough?
    In other words: is 3d a necessary skill or can it be learned on the job?

    • @SirWade
      @SirWade  5 років тому +1

      If you don't know 3D, but are going for a 3D animation job, they aren't going to hire you when they can hire people who already know it. You don't necessarily always need to know a certain software, but you need to show that you can do the work otherwise there's no way for them to have the needed confidence that you'll be a good choice.

      So many people seemed to like hearing about my experience going to Animation Mentor, I figured I'd talk about a more recent learning experience that I was super stoked about, and had wondered about myself for years. Especially since so many people ask me about different programs to learn animation, I thought it would be valuable to anyone looking for more places to learn :) It wasn't meant to be advert-y, but I did want to tell everyone about it since I've been really excited about it :D

    • @SirWade
      @SirWade  Рік тому +1

      Depends on what you need! Both are great; AM is a bigger, more community focused experience with their rigs, lecture videos plus mentor time, and resources. AnimC is smaller, more focused on the instruction with your mentors
      Short answer, both :P

    This is a great video I do hope to fly over there one day after AM and take the course It seems you got a whole lot out of it and for me watching someone animate right there sounds amazing I would love to see how they tackle things especially in the Graph Editor since I'm still not very used to it. right now I'm just trying to figure out how to get my animation into a really polished state but it looks horrible to me lol XD but I guess from what I want to learn more is how they tackled animation in the graph editor what was there method or workflow in the graph editor heck that whole class you said about the graph editor would be perfect. but awesome video can't wait to see your next one.

    • @SirWade
      @SirWade  5 років тому +1

      Totally understand, though depending on the type of college or program, these types of specialized schools or animation programs are often a much better investment than regular school. Something to consider when budgeting out each year of tuition, especially if student loans and college debt come into the picture at all

    • @uzumaki725
      @uzumaki725 5 років тому

      @@SirWade Am not sure how it is in US, as I live in UK, but here everyone has 4 years of free higher education. Meaning that the Government pays for your College or University fees. But after the 4 years, if you are still learning you have to pay for it from your own pocket. You are still entitled to student loans and other benefits but those you have to pay back. Me for example, no way I would ever be able to afford higher education if I had to pay it from my own pocket.
