I think it is music during the Mass to make one look inward and meditate on liturgy rather than to be entertained. I personally like to listen to this when I read the hours our make my meditation.
I'm no organ expert, but this sounds like someone improvising without wanting to disturb the neighbours (or wake the congregation?); is this what it's supposed to sound like?
Joseph Laredo i'm no expert either, but I do play the organ and i do have the score in front of me and I can't follow what is being played versus what is written. I'm going from the "Edition-Peters" score, and it does sound like ultra quietness with a touch of improvisation! It all sounds the same with the same registration. Well-played, but for my tastes, not diverse enough. Oh, well.
It’s actually a midi file with a synth/sample organ. It sounds very natural for a synth. I’ve recently tried this, and even for a pretty good musician you might find yourself discovering things about organ performances that you should probably do more than just put the midi file to a nice synth/sample organ. It’s not strictly quantized, so the author of the midi file must have played it with his hands, but maybe not included any “velocity” data
