Yo thankyou, that means a lot. Its not an easy task to try and adequately interpret it redo what vessel has already perfected! Glad this one resonated with you 😊
@@CJ-Litty my fav song atm as well, i was scared you were gonna butcher it, but you did insanely well! listened to all your other sleep token stuff as well, you're excellent!
Thanks for you kind words my man 🙏Hahaha, I was at knot fest this past weekend and saw them. I kept saying to myself, I wish they'd TURN spiritbox up! You want me to cover something from them? I was thinking of doing sunkiller or circle with me
@@CJ-Litty yooo Circle With Me is quite a step ahead! But Sunkiller is a also hymn, so... you do them both! hahahaa It's always nice watching amazing covers of amazing songs.
That was awesome! Didn't expect this (doesn't mean smth bad, btw, it's just that I randomly clicked on this) :D Great job with this song and cleans and screams were great. Keep it up! Worship
Amazing cover! Your whole range worked fantastically for this track! I myself am working towards being able to sing in vessels style. But while Im able to scream with pitch pretty confidently, im having trouble when dealing with pitchless screams like these ones. Would you have any strong tips to give?
Yo, nice work. Yeah nice pick on these largely voiceless screams. I strongly suggest learning how to control the closure on your soft palate/velum. This can be felt easily by saying these sounds phonetically /n/ /g/ /a/. The n sound that you hear in "no" or "knee", this forces your soft palate to close removing the possibility of nasalised sounds (nasalised sound is an obligatiry thing to have for high voiceless screams). G sound you hear in "good" or "dog". This forces air nicely through the nasal passageway allowing for nasalised sounds again, you should get the soft palate get pulled forward like it is coming unstuck from the back of your throat. The /a/ vowel sounds like "apple" or "at" sustains a voiced sound that can be directed through the nasal passageway, direct it up there until you can get a buzzing or vibrating sensation, really nasalise it. Say nga on repeat until you can feel the movement and forth of the soft palate. Now the voiceless component is like starting the voiced scream, but in this case whisper it and direct it through the nasal passageway. With greater control over the soft palate close it off more and more until you reach a really small gap that will act as a compression point for the sound to pass through, this essentially causes peak clipping of the projected whisper and provides gain, compression and distortion. Scrunch your nose up a little bit too modulate the direction of the airflow and nasal compression to help control the tone and sustain. Hope this helps or is at least partially understood 👌 thinking I might make a video soon 😊
Oh wow thank you so much for the detailed explanation! I can already tell its gonna be a lot of fun experimenting with this exercise! Ill let you know if I have any other questions!
Damn it that's fantastic cover! I wish I could sing and use the technics like you did! Hiw long have you been practicing these extreme vocals? Greetings from Poland!
Witam my friend! And thankyou so much for your kind words 😊. This technique is not the usual technique I use, but it also wasn't one that I would say is incredibly taxing, I just found it harder to articulate the distortion in a more controlled manner without a lot of warm up and practice. I've been practicing screaming and distorted vocals on and off for about 5 years, but more seriously in the past 12 months or so. It is certainly something that takes time, but with the right knowledge and practice can be something you learn to easily control 👌👌
Yo thanks heaps dude! This is definitely some sort of modified fry. The distortion is nearly entirely coming from my soft palate and nasopharynx. Should feel like a sharp buzzing in the nostrils and a soft buzzing in the back of the mouth. I'm going between letting a little bit more air through on the higher part by slightly opening soft palate and less air on the mid highs by closing it more.
Yo I spent a lot of time wishing I had this person's voice, and that person's voice and hating certain qualities/abilities of my voice. I can see what you're saying as a compliment, but it would make me sad to think that you might not see your voice having its own potential! All I can say is this...I was given a larynx, but it has taken a really long time to learn how to drive it to the point where I even identify as a singer. This voice of mine didn't come naturally at any point. As a baritone with prior vocal injuries, accessing my vocal range took a LOT of work, I thought i'd never be able to sing anything other than Johnny Cash! Screaming used to kill my voice, now its almost effortless. What you're seeing is a lot of pondering, practising and comprehension of techniques that are required to make this voice work. There are now many things my voice is great at doing, and many other things its not very good at doing, and thats ok, my voice has enough capabilities now that it can be deemed its own unique work of art! Voices, particularly dynamic ones don't pop-up over night. These covers have all been an exercise to monitor my progress as a singer, and I can say i'm happy to see the progress from where I was to where I am now 9 months later. I suggest doing this if you're looking to improve the voice you have 😊😊 The world will never need 2 of my voice, it needs new voices inlcuding your voice to keep things interesting. ✌✌
Infact actually I’m going to play this song for a guitarist for a guitar recital can I use Ur track and I’ll put ur name in the paper giving u credit for the track
@@Themonkey55567 what part of the track do you want to use? You pretty much made an alternate vocal track for the actual song holy shit 🔥🔥🔥
Haha you're too kind, glad you enjoyed!!
Usually Sleep token covers are pain to get though, but that one turned out really well! Might add it to playlist!
