  • Avoiding mould in buildings and bad locations has made a big difference to my health. Here I explain where the idea comes from and why.

thanks for taking the time to make a clear simple video about mold and it's potential connection to me/cfs. it's helpful for sharing with those not experiencing it.

Certainly makes a lot of sense in relation to the onset of my M.E.!
I have found that, having recently had a worsening of symptoms, I am now more sensitive to mould and strong chemicals and can detect them much more acutely.
    Great video, Giles :)

the peanut allergy analogy was spot on as to how serious mold can affect us.

Absolutely amazing! I have major damp and mould in my kitchen and haven't even thought this could be making me worse. Thanks for your story, I have something new to look seriously at in my recovery now. :)

I have lived in the same place for 17 out of 20 years, we have black, white and green mould, which the landlord will not sort out. I became ill with me at the age of 13 which I was housebound until I was 16, I still suffer today only managing 3 days a week at uni, my mum became ill with fibromyalgia 4 years ago and is still housebound, we both believe that the mould has something todo with this as we have been told the mould is in the walls and the whole house needs to be striped back, meaning no matter how much we clean it grows back within hours, also when we do clean both me and my mum are left feeling I'll for days.

You must leave or sue them for disrepair and get compensation. It is possible I am doing it currently. Mould disabled me for 10 years.

This is very true. I've been diagnosed with ME and CFS since 2002. I had a major relapse in 2009 when our basement had been overtaken with black mold. So it's very true mold hurts us.

I had mould problems which came with food sensitivites I read about N.A.E.T. and gave it a try-those problems went away, but now a dozen years later they have returned after alot of recent dental work -bad dentistry is the hidden cause of much chronic illnes-in my personal experience, avoid amalgams and root canals as both effect the immune system adversely.Alot of the immune system resides in the gut and the gut can "leak" -this is even accepted by main stream medicine now. Physical, mental or emotional stress can cause leaks-which self repair until the body runs out of repair materials. The deritus that goes through the damaged gut lining into the blood stream triggers allergy or hyper sensitivity of the immune system,so fix the gut and have the allergy's switched off with naet. A good book on healthy gut is " The GAPS diet" by Dr Natasha Campbell McBride. Once stable, detox, long and steady.

    Thanks for raising the topic!
I've been considering the Canary Islands or Thailand for a while, and might soon be an option as my condition is slowly improving and I can hopefully get through the impact of travel.. Thinking 2-4 weeks, to give my body time to reset from whichever environmental impacts might be part-causative in Norway..
How do you think mold will be in coastal Thailand?
    Or the Canary Islands..?
Or are these locations too humid and warm, so great conditions for mold to flourish?
Also wondering if Thailand is heavily mercury polluted form Chinese industry? (Already uncovered high levels of Mercury as part of my issue, so don't want more exposure to that element..)

me to considering Canary Islands for quite a long time, but last time I've been there there was plenty of mold on the ceiling of the bungalo I was in... How the hell to figure out where to go what to do without help, and everybody thinks you are a freak... I should have killed myself so long ago but I want to win this war. If we connected properly and share the info where/how/what .... It would be so much easier for all of us

Eric Kim and this drier climate parts of the islands are where?? Last time I've been in Fuerteventura Caleta de fuste. I'm thinking this time go to Tenerife most likely, but it would help if you could pin point the drier microclimate parts are in any of these islands as I really have no idea whatsoever

another thing I live in London and all the air is sure full up of toxins and I feel very toxic and wish to move, but it is apparently hard to move the benefits in UK so I've been stuck here for years, not an environment for recovery....

WHO gave out a paper back in 2009 where they had gone throug all the research on the subject mold/humid and Illness. They stressed the fact about natural ventilation and severe symptoms.. the people that had natural ventilation,, like the ones one the wall and thereby circulation of the air all the time, had milder symptoms or could live better with the sympt. The paper is still out there but was said to not rule after 2014. That IS STRANGE!

I have to use hydrogen peroxide 3,6 or 12% foodgrade to get rid og the toxins or spores . They are exploding on my skin, hair, clothes, kitchen sinc oa. On my skin they give a yeast like smell. Sometimes worse -than -ever- smell I just spray on and leave it for a minute. When I clean off I am completely clean and smell good, aka nothing at all. I live without mold and humid. totally. My washingmachine stays clean as I use Hp 12% in it every time I wash my clothes. I never wash clothes I have used out in the society in the washingmacine. Just by hand outside on the terrasse. Aflatoxins is a great problem in Norway, I was sick/ill everywhere. Here in Catalunya Spain.. I have not been exposed to aflatoxins for some reason.. the high note that makes your head totally spin, pain everywhere and breathing problems. I have not smelled that smell anywhere here. But penicillium.. the damp cellar smell, or hard to tell -smell, just not clean-smell is so many places so is the dead flower smell from stachy botrys. And the smell from the sewer. OMG .. It is too much ...But that smell does not stick to anything luckily. When it is gone it is gone. And then we have the Polyurethane.. it is growing... really.. new building materials, new cars and AC mold spores that react to the toxins in this stuff. hard to get off the clothes... There are so much info on this subject- mold and illness. we need many books and many papers..
