That motor should have a capacitor that needs to be checked, also you can try freeing up the motor by spinning it. Sometimes they seize from sitting all off season.
3 phases of power L1 L2 L3, three lines with power coming to the load in this case AC unit, single phase is only 1 phase of power L1 L2 or L1 and Neutral
Tech found the problem let the customer Knows but, He thinks is maybe a wrong diagnostic and call for a second opinion, a second opinion is a very expensive for the customer. Great video.
I am having issues with some Aaon RTU's mine are not gas. Constant volume cooling units bas johnson controls. Condensor fan fuses keep tripping. Motor seems fine, traced wires no knicks
The N/C pins are for when the unit is in the off position. It keeps the CCH1 and CCH2 energized when the unit isn't running. (Those are crank case heaters). They have constant power from the CFC line side of L2. The L1 of the CFC is going to the N/C pins to give those heaters power only when the units are not running. These are to keep refrigerant warm and in the places we want to prevent flooding and compressor damage. You needed to look closer to see the heaters in the diagram or else it would be a short.
Trouble shooting is a BIG part of the trade, and someone lets the customer know there is parts that need replaced and customer’s don’t realize that you need the combustible motor to work in summer time for Dehumidification then winter no heat , call in and find locked up inducer motor
No. If a unit is not running, it means there's a problem that needs to be diagnosed. Your statement is about as intelligent as saying if the car won't start, it's because it's out of gas.
Great troubleshooting, i would just add alittle more caution when finding wires that have been removed by someone else. That is finding out first that those wires do go to the motor before plugging them in and energizing them and find out first if the motor is not shorted, you would create another problem if you blow the fuses.. guess we all have our own little way of doing things. Great video
@Reynaldo Martinez although one might argue that if the combustion motor was shorted or grounded then the fuses would had already been blown , also the wiring diagram clearly showed wht and blk wires going to the CB motor from the relay, now what’s the odds those same wht & blk wires and only those wires just dangling by the empty relay terminals 😂 🤷♂️
We gotta chill on bashing each other as techs. U firmly implied the guy prior was incompetent, for you to come to the same conclusion. Shits mad unprofessional I’m a new tech striving to get better not all of us can be the skeematic king @ least not yet.
Why is the motor no good? Sounds like the bearings may be bad. Is the amp draw to high? Is the fan dirty? Is it running backwards? These things you should show or you'll never find the main problem just fixing the symptom. Then a few weeks later you get a call it's not working again and you have another burnt out motor. You need to show why these parts go bad or your just changing parts. Part changers are a dime a dozen and that's why they're are so many systems shape.
@Ares the motor was Bad ( period ) and fortunately for me in this part of the world we do not repair motors unless it's a special motor!! Okay.. in addition the housing and wheel was also replaced, it all came from the supply house in 1 piece pre assembled.
If it's bad bearings, the motor needs to be replaced. If the amp draw is off, it means motor needs to be replaced. If it's running backwards when it's clearly not 3 phase, the motor needs to be replaced. All your suggestions don't make the guy a glorified parts changer, they're all the same symptoms of a part that needs to be replaced to fix the issue. No need to get down to specifics in this situation.
Awesome! You are a true teacher
Wow, thanks!
Good job I’m working on an Aaon this week. Makes me more comfortable reading the schematic and tracing the circuit.
Thanks for watching
I appreciate you using the schematic to fallow the wiring. These is helping me a great deal with troubleshooting.. Thanks..

Boa Noite parabéns belos videos, aqui no Brasil nao tem este tipo de aquecimento a gas, se tiver que fazer alguma brasagem corre algum risco? Parabéns

Great video man. Any books you can recommend on electrical hvac troubleshooting.
Great video keep up the great work and keep the videos coming 👍🏻
Thanks for watching
I'm still new. But It was a red tagged, the thing you threw lol. Because the motor was bad
Is the schematic based on when the unit is off?
Good video .. why do you think the previous technician left the wires disconnected?.
Perhaps because the motor was bad! 😆

Ohm out the motor windings perhaps they are bad!
@@D2DNYAC will do, let you know how it goes
Those two wires you connected to the relay for the motor ,would it matter if the were reversed ..?..
Good question 🙋♀️, no it doesn’t matter
I see short here at 14.12 on cc1 & cc2 contactors N/C pins are shorted.. its on the schematic..why is that..?
