One thing I realized when I started growing my hair is that the type doesn't matter, only the porosity does. Still don't know my hair type for sure because on some days it looks 4A, other days 4B,and other days 4C, but I was still able to get it to grow healthy.

Some people say to push the hair down a little to break the surface tension of the water, and some don't do that! When I just place the hair on top, it floats forever. When I push it a little it sinks immediately! When I spray it, the water beads on top of my hair, but in the shower it seems to get saturated fairly quickly. And it dries pretty fast.. bottom line, I have no clue if I'm low or high porosity 😭
Same here!!!!! My hair float every time and when I push back my hair is super smooth but it dries fast and absorb water fast too. Maybe I can't find the right answer for me cause I have fine thin hair???? I don't know
Since bleaching my hair I have developed High Porosity. Another way of knowing is if your hair can easily hold curls and is a bit stiff, that is another sign of High Porosity.
So all my hair float on top of the water after 10 min but when I pushed it down they sank and remain there..am I still low porosity even when I pushed it down and it stayed there?
I need help guys ! A viewer from Canada but origins are from india. I have really thick hair and just recently because of quarantine started becoming curly. Whenever I put coconut oil for my hair it’s like my hair doesn’t absorb the oil and looks very oily. Also do u know any recommendations for thick hair, it’s hard to run my hand through my hair it’s hard to style it. Plz and thx
I’m still a bit confused 😭😭, i did the water test and it floated, BUT when i feel one strand it’s bumpy, when i spray my hair with water their are beads for a few mins, BUT even after soaking my hair it dries in literally 2 mins like CRAZY. when i put product in it becomes very moisturized and soft and then it’s dry within only an hour. so i feel like i have High porosity but idk
