Wow, Tony, you have been so influential in educating me in my travels to Spain. In the springtime it'll be my third time in Spain. I will go to Seville this time. But all my ease is from following your videos. Thanks so much.
Tony, I am planning a three week trip to Spain this winter and I cannot articulate my gratitude to you. Your videos are a wealth of information and have hit all of the question marks I had when I started planning. You are the best tour guide I have found on UA-cam. Muchisimas gracias por todo. Mi esposo y yo estamas quedando en Sevillla quatro noches, incluida Las Navidad. I have booked three hotels and need to cancel two. One of them made your list: Corral del Rey. Los otros son: Hotel Unuk y Casa del Poeta. Sabes algo sobre los otros? Thank you!
Dear Amy, many thanks for your kinds words. The three are very beautiful hotels, all in the centre of Seville. Casa del Poeta is particularly nice but it's right in the heart of the barrio de Santa Cruz. If you are traveling heavy it might be a problem to get to it, as the entire neighborhood is mostly pedestrian only. Yo creo que en cualquiera de los tres vais a estar muy bien. Elige el que más te agrade por precio y apariencia. Un saludo cordial.
We stayed at the Pensione Cordoba, which was walking distance to everything. Comfortable beds, bathrooms American's would approve of, and the twin sisters that owned it were so nice and directed us to the best tapas bars in the area, and the new Flamenco theater that was just around the corner. I would recommend this place to anyone.
Thank you for the tip, Peter. For anyone interested, the details of Pensión Córdoba are here ➡️ www.booking.com/hotel/es/pension-cordoba.es.html?aid=359492
Tony, my wife and I absolutely love your videos! We are planning our first trip to Southern Spain this winter and have found your videos to be invaluable. We are looking for accommodations in Seville (as well as other places). You list the Boutike Guesthouse, which we are interested in. Any additional thoughts on this place would be appreciated. Thanks, Dennis
Hi Dennis, it's a cosy hotel with a good location in the centre of Seville. Good ratings but a common theme to many reviews is the poor acoustic isolation of the rooms, in case that bothers you.
LOVE LOVE LOVE your channel....muchas gracias. Coming to Spain in November for the first time for 8 days. Planning a side trip to Seville. Our flight back to the States leaves at 4PM.....your thoughts on taking an early morning train from Sevilla to Madrid on the same day as flying? There is a train that is scheduled to arrive back in Madrid at 10AM I would think that should be a decent amount to time to catch a 4pm flight....your thoughts? And thank you for the accomodation and food suggestions
Flight to train is one thing, train to flight a very different one. If you miss the flight, the damage is considerable. We always advise to avoid train and flight on the same day, but if you do it, leave a buffer of at least 8 hours. Be aware that flying to the US you have to be at the airport at least 3 hours in advance.
I'm planning my trip to Spain/Portugla and LOVE your videos. They have helped and adjusted my plans with such good knowledge. But am SHOCKED of all to see Ibis Styles Seville as a DO NOT GO. Do you have additional information as to why? It was the one place I was considering for Seville. Haha.

Hola Tony, do you think 3 nights, 2.5 days in Seville is enough to see the major sites. I'm torn between staying 4 nights or doing a day trip to Cadiz. Both cities are so beautiful. Gracias for your great videos.

Si vais a gastar más de lo presupuestado a lo mejor vale la pena el esfuerzo de buscar algo más cercano a la catedral. Pero el hotel está muy bien.

Are there any trains available or flights? Also, I have been looking at hotel accommodations... Can you tell me about hotel Cervantes... Is it a good hotel and safe for to for 3 days?
Hi Anupam, we don't have a video yet on how to travel from Lisbon to Seville but if you leave your question at one of the Q&A videos of the channel we'll be delighted to answer it. Hotel Cervantes is a bit off the main attractions in the centre of Seville, but if you don't mind a 20-minute walk to get to them, it can be an option.
Laura, Santa Cruz is a neighborhood overrun by tourism. Most locals have had to leave the area as tourist flats expanded occupying every single corner of the neighborhood.
Hola. I am a Solo female traveler and would appreciate a recommendation for where to stay in Sevilla. I am an older woman and looking for an affordable hotel to stay in for 5 nights. Gracias.
AirBnb for us are an absolute no-no. A substantial part of AirBnb flats in the tourist cities of Spain are in the hand of foreign capital through investment funds. Where you had a local resident before now you have an empty flat during most months of the year (for the investor it pays to have the flat closed most of the year, they recover the investment with 3 or 4 months of tourist rentals). Lifelong local residents were forced to leave and relocate to the outskirts of the cities. Local shops are closing down and being replaced by souvenir shops. The process of urban degradation in places like the neighborhood of Santa Cruz in Seville is probably irreversible, but many of us would like to prevent it from spreading to many other areas. As a traveler, as a tourist, I will do everything I can to avoid that my actions have a negative impact in the lives of the people of the places I visit. And Airbnb has contributed immensely to the housing shortage in the tourist cities of Spain, the displacement of locals and the disruption in residential neighborhoods unlucky to have gained "Airbnb" neighbors. On top of that, there are many regulations in place limiting short-term rentals through the platforms. In a substantial number of cases, they are completely illegal.
Hey Tony, may I know if the public buses (say, 32) in Seville allow passengers to bring their luggage on-board? (Not sure if they are like buses in Madrid where luggage is not allowed) And also, how about the public buses in Malaga - can passengers bring their luggage on board too?
OMG I have been to Las Teresas bar shown on your computer background, it was near my hotel by La casa del flamenco, last June. Seville was a beautiful city, even a 4 day stay wasn't enough, can't wait to go back hopefully soon, and in spring or autumn to avoid the 41° temp 😂
For as long as you are aware you will have to walk a bit to get to most places of interest in Seville, if the place looks nice and fits your budget, you might risk it. The address is on the opposite side of the river to where the majority of tourists sights are.
@AD-gn9gg did you happen to stay in the Triana House? If so, how did you like it? We are contemplating staying there for our upcoming trip and don't mind a bit of walking. Also, there appear to be 2 places associated with the Triana House?? Thanks
