I love that they have the player character in arguably the most traditional gear set of 2007/2008
Were defenders not a thing back then? Really like the look of the obby shield in that gear set.
@@janslager1 ddef wasn't added until 2010, rune defender was the highest tier defender in 2006. obby shield had the same strength bonus as rune def but almost double the defensive stats, plus could be purchased with no need to grind warriors guild. at the time people just didn't see a reason to use the rune defender over it. especially since obby shield came out a year prior
@@ApexGaleplus obby shield looks cooler and that’s what *REALLY* mattered.
Fashionscape was everything back then, it was always acceptable to give up stats for fashion.

It really is, everything was going smooth until my account got hacked last week, got it back now but they cleaned me out, and I’m not even high level 😂 my total bank value was like 40M. Oh well, that’s the way it goes sometimes.

I am so insanely excited for this quest. As a kid doing this quest was my ultimate goal in runescape. Seeing a quest of such scale that it had countless other large scale quests as a pre-requisite to start it. It was such an awesome goal, and the lore it brought with it, the impact it had on the characters and world we knew were simply brilliant.
I am very excited to be reliving that experience. It's going to be amazing.
This period of quests was incredible. I'm glad that I did WGS and ROTM pre-EOC. It's an experience I hold up there with the best of any games I've ever played.

1000 curses? You know there have to be some filler curses. Like they all can't be "curse of death""curse of eternal sadness". Some of them have to be real stinkers like "curse of uncomfortable shoes"

Ohhh boy I hope it's a good rendition, the Darkmeyer track kind of pales in comparison to the 2012 version so my hopes are low
I loved how Sliske made his return with DT2. ROTM is one of the greatest quests RS has.

The unique Mahjarrat storyline so far has been some of the most peak content in OSRS, and WGS is still possibly my favorite quest of all time of either game. Needless to say, *hype.* The moment we saw the stone the first time in Temple of the Eye I got shivers.
I did this in RS3 years ago. I am beyond excited to see what kind of take the Old School team has in store for us!

Playing this quest and eventually getting a Quest Cape was my goal when I first got members, all those years ago in 2008-9.

Man I remember when this came out as a little kid. I was never into questing but I watched my dad play the entirety of that quest. I cant wait to experience it again all these years later

With all the hyper realism in curent games this video is way too good. Classic graphics but dynamic, mysterious background music and good script for the deep and menacing voice that reminds me of illydan monolog "imprisoned for 10 000 years.."

This quest came out right after I quit the first time so I never got a chance to do it. But I've heard how great it was, excited to get to experience it for the first time!
To stick with theme for the adamant seeds changing direction. Team should make a grapple bow or something that has reverse effect of dragon spear. Pull/stun instead of push / stun.
I don't remember anything about the plot of this quest, but I remember giggling like a madman at the 255 stat boosts and absolutely curb-stomping the two tormented demons at the end
Basically Lucien wanted to be the next Zamorak.

The thing i miss more from RS3 before the evolution of combat took it was this:
Killing Tormented demons while the theme "Temple Desecrated" played on the background.
RIP Hazelmere... Not sure if they gonna change it up on who survives.

I feel like this is the first official turn in the OSRS universe from RS3. We've had a few similar ideas and mechanics to and from RS3 put in and some new expanded areas, but uncovering the stone of jas, and presumably introducing the staff of armadyl as more than an staff of earth, will have huge repercussions to the world.
They quoted Ozymandias at the end with the 'look upon my works and despair' which is a 1818 poem by Percy Shelley, the poem is around the theme of kings and the downfall of their empires.

Man, I wish the RS3 team cared as much as the OS team. I love both games equally but it's becoming harder and harder to enjoy the months of nothing on my main while my OS account is thriving with these updates
OS fortunately has years worth of content ahead of it just dripping stuff from RS3 alongside their own stuff and adding their context to it.
Should be a great decade ahead for OS.
@@zachbunch8701 Yeah, there's still a few QOL updates from rs3 that i'd like to see come to OS like bank presets and stuff, but other than that the rs3 ported versions of things OS is doing are just better. It's sad given I love rs3, but it looks like my OS account may become my new main
