- Graffiti with the phrases “F--- LAPD,” “LET GAZA LIVE” and “FREE PALESTINE” were cleared overnight after being daubed on various surfaces around campus.
This was the latest in a string of actions made by the university to “[return] to normal operations,” according to USC officials.

How does vandalizing property in a different country do anything to help?
Exactly
agreed
Students are protesting the universities being intertwined with defense contractors that are profiting off of the conflict. They’re calling for the disclosure of university investments and partnerships and the divestment of university funds and programs from organizations supporting the conflict when there are other options. Many students don’t want their education sponsored by blood money. Many professors don’t want their research funded by blood money. It’s the whole, do the ends justify the means debate.
Example of intertwined organizations: Many engineering programs and facilities are sponsored by defense contractors and at many universities there is a direct student to defense employee pipeline built in within the departments and programs. Specially the departments, facilities and programs the defense contractor funded. Like Boeing at Long Beach, Raytheon at Colombia, etc.
@@BruhRealythat was well thought out and allowed me to better understand the situation, thank you. Although….the question still stands right?
How does vandalizing property in another country do anything to help? Is the idea really that they’ll cause so much discomfort that the schools will give up huge monetary gains? It’s gonna take a lot of discomfort for that, and I believe it would become illegal at that juncture.
@BruhRealy Here's also another point for discussion. Even if what they suspect is true, what makes them think this will create a dent in what's happening? If the point is refusing to get education from blood money, then I suggest to just stop school. Go to a different one. Why stick to their current one?

You can't buy class
No more than you can display it when supporting genocide and the oppression of an entire race of people all because they are poor and being oppressed for crimes against humanity.
Imagine being one of those people say hate everything about America and yet you refuse to leave and take advantage of everything it has to offer these people are clowns
Not supporting them. They are wrong.
You were too general though.
There is a slow run of "Christian Bible Values" creeping back into law. I don't like that. I don't like that SCOTUS keeps quoting the Federalist Papers, when their job is CONSTITUTIONALLITY. Not that plus opinions that never got in too. I hate that SCOTUS and Congress each think the other two answer directly to that branch.
Should I leave?
Edit: damned phone was tripling up letters.
And then they’ll complain about tuition becoming more expensive next semester 🤦♂️
If you vandalize school property, you should be expelled.
Expelled an jail
Do you support January 6th
@@temple69 Nah. I don't support any politics.
@@searchbar83 being apolitical just means you are secure enough in your social position to not have to care. These people have family being murdered in Gaza. They have no solutions left so they protest.
@@temple69 yeah, no. Most of These people protesting grew up more privileged than I did. I grew up with my mother living paycheck to paycheck. I couldn't even afford college. They aren't from Gaza, they are from America. Nice try though, I didn't fall into your little trap about Jan 6, so you gotta try to belittle me and make up a lie about these protestors that you couldn't possibly know about them.
I’m so glad that authorities acted quickly and removing that horrible graffiti and defacing. Congratulations and good job!
The green goblin went on a graffiti spree
stop federal subsidy of any and all higher education.
The progressive and hateful spirit of Berkeley has crept all the way to socal.. This is disgusting and honestly embarrassing
Ah yes LA used to be so very conservative & loving. Can’t believe those nasty Berkeley ideals corrupted good ol innocent Hollywood 🙄
awe, how dare college students want their school to divest from supporting a genocide? it's so "embarrassing."
I've got a great idea...why don't we have those "students" clean up their OWN messes ?!?! 🤔
I had a young student damage a wall and left class before I saw it.
I waited til the next week, went down to the maintenance office and asked for some spackle in a cup, brought it back to my classroom.
When my student came in, I waited til after class, then had him "repair" the damage.
At 1st he denied up and down that he did it, but I didn't argue nor relented.
After he repaired what he damaged, he brought the repair items up to my desk, and then crying, he admitted that he HAD damaged the wall and swore he'd NEVER do that again.
He turned out to be one of my best students after that.
These kids NEED to be held responsible to clean up all this damage. It's a teaching moment.
They aren't kids and they definitely won't clean this up.
But I didn't argue nor relent. A teacher should understand tenses and sentence structure.
Even i love lying on the internet
💯 Absolutely. They just HAVE to clean their mess.
cool story bro.
👉🏽 *When I was a child I accidentally broke a window and I had to pay for it myself even though it was an accident.. my parents taught Me accountability at a very young age.. why aren't these students getting punished/held accountable for what they've done to teach them a valuable lesson!?* 👈🏽
Shame on USC for letting this happen.

Pretty small time comparison to what we saw just from the Vietnam protests. People act like this is the first time we have had student protests.
Never sending my kid to any of the uni's that allowed that BS
