In the least inflammatory yet most serious stance, I don’t think modern players deserve any COMBO highlights. I think they give up that right when they choose that modality of gameplay.
They still have to do combos that take some degree of execution, things like the juggle system and links dont change. Execution =/= skill. Also, simply putting yourself in a position to do a sick combo can in and of itself make it cooler, since u dont have the sanitized safety of training room to make dropping it not stressful and difficult. Modern players are still fighting game players
Let me put this modern thing to rest. Modern main players suck. The only ones defending them are people who can’t do normal input execution. AT THE SAME TIME THOUGH….we have to realize and understand that modern players aren’t going anywhere. As much as we hate them they WILL be here to stay. We don’t have to respect them BUT we do have to acknowledge their presence as to why they are here. We wanted more players in the fgc. We all have to keep that in mind as we want to continue to grow the fgc.
I dont play modern and I defend them because who cares? The game is still stupid easy with or without a 1 button control scheme. If you're consistently losing to someone who lost half their buttons and starts at 80% scaling, maybe that's just a skill issue

Nobody and I mean nobody I’ve seen stream this game has anything nice to say about them. This isn’t just a “skill issue” when even top players have said similar things in their streams. Everyone CLAIMS it’s easy but yet that MR would say otherwise for the majority of the player base.
