Excellent action packed pattern and profile. What a great companion to your fleeing crawfish 🦞. Two smallie snacks I am sure. Definitely will have to tie it when I get the chance. 😎🎣
Hard to believe but the Fleein’ Mjnnow is the HOT fly here on Wollaston Lake in Saskatchewan! Took numerous 37-42” pike in it..they crushed it! Great fly design!!!
Tying question - When you recommend keeping white as a base does that mean keep everything white the way you have it here including the mallard and leggy brush.. would that make the legs, rabbit and crustaceans brush that you change to yellow or chart. ?? Thank you! Awesome fly can’t wait to tie some up
really nice fly m8!!! I have actually started to use "cheap(er)" jewelery pins for tails ( like this one) to save mone and shanks. So far it has worked fine. I also like that you show us that it is "normal" to have to trim á few times instead of just showing us 1 trim and then á perfect fly.
Like the attention to details, at each stage of build. Why the mechinical connection verses mono and bead. This reminds me of the game changer platform. The weighted bend . Does this help create the drop on pause and side to side motion?
The shank connection just allows for longevity and the exact same loop for the life of the fly. We build these flies to swim for multiple seasons of hard use.
Thanks James! I just learned to tie your fleeing cray and now this is the perfect companion to learn to tie next. Killer bluegill colors
