Awesome. James Newton Howard is truly one of the greatest music composers of our time, I believe.
The soundtrack playing here is from King Kong...'Beautiful'.

The Village . . . Unbelievable gorgeous. JNH’s scores are always beautiful, but The Village, brought to life by the incomparable Hilary Hahn, is on another level. ❤️❤️

He just seems so humble. Such a genius. I was reading somewhere that he wrote the score for King Kong in six weeks... BEAST.

I have much more respect for people that can openly express how good they are at something then for great people acting false humility.

Ah, genius of music. There's not one score by him that I don't love. The Village is what got me into film scores and remains to be my favorite of all time, "The Gravel Road" is pure brilliance.

Loved his work on Blood Diamond, Batman and Snow Falling on Cedars. He's a great composer. What I love most about his work is that even with the quietest, most gentle passages and pieces, they're as rousing and impacting as any louder more 'actively driven' piece... if you know what I mean... Never tried Yamaha's keyboards, but like their MSP and HS monitoring speakers.

James Newton Howard From your early days with Elton, I have admired your brilliance. I just purchased a Yamaha digital piano and wanted to know when layering strings with piano, how many octaves below or above the piano should I play? Thanks Maestro!

And what if he was merely grateful that Yamaha had done so much for him and his work that he wished to give them something back? Honestly, I believe music has something personal in it that reflects the composer himself, and even by what he says in this video, you can see he is a humble and gentle person. Sure his work has given him fame and money, but its nothing he didn't deserve. And hardly compared to say... Hans Zimmer. He's just as good as him, and yet he remains largely undiscovered.

This is not a profesion thar one enters to make money. Yes if your good you make a lot. and you know what? when your good at something people want to sponsor you, thats life. And even though this was for yamaha, he obviously likes their equipment cause hes used it for years. Just because he did this does not say anything about his character or musicianship. He is a wonderful composer, a brilliant musician and an inspiration.

great vid. I wish JN Howard would stay away from Zimmer. He used to be a fantastic composer. SIGNS is still one of the best scores of the 00's. And I love this cue, Beautiful, from King Kong. It's a transcendental piece.

og course they are...but James never copies himself and never does the same again...Zimmer did a huge mistake by teaching all this amateurs his style...now he's nothing special anymore, he created the mainstream of filmscoring. And he souldn't let all this ghost writers make his own scores
