I’ve actually seen a bond bug in the wild, One was behind me travelling through Bramley near Guildford few weeks back.. Also that same week I saw another unicorn, near Horsham A Ferrari 288 GTO 😮 Which was nice…
I remember the Lotus programme well thinking that Mike Brewer had ripped the seller off considering the cars history. Still, he didn’t have to sell. Great show as always Trevor 👍👍
I bought PTM 110J in 1994 for £50, maiden bid, at a classic car auction on North Weald airfield, Essex. Nobody wanted it, It was a basket case. The chassis had rotted and snapped in half but it was complete. I cobbled the chassis back together and got it running then sold it about a year later for £450. I would imagine that it has had a new chassis and canopy door since then and may have even had a body swap as it had a fair amount of damage to the near side front wing. Nice to see it has survived 👍
In 2009 the bond bug was in Cornwall,I was a bug owner at the time and I have photos of the bug at a show,we parked our bug beside it ,we found out from the owner it was for sale then,we heard a little while later he had sold it to WD production team for £4000,but I can’t prove that this was true
Thanks! Very true, as time has gone on (WD started in 2003, I'm just starting work on the 2011 year series...) the cars have seemed to last a lot longer post show, but they were working on higher value cars.
Interesting and thanks. I'm surprised the Lotus didn't surface anywhere online compared to the Bond which was everywhere!! I guess it depends a lot on the owner and what they do with the car.
Nice one pal but on the lotus did you spot the mileage roll back fom 2018 at 5.371 mls but in 2020 its back to 4.443 mls , is this a bit OF MOT Irish skulduggery?
Another good one thanks Trevor, did the bond bug use same chassis as the reliant robin? Dont know much about them, that lotus is a very pretty car, doubt id fit tho being 5 10 ish lol
@@oscarsgarage447 ah ok thanks just wondered being same crazy layout and all, they look a lot of fun tho, I'd probably need the canopy up to drive it tho 😂
Yep, my 88 Mini jumps from 44,000 odd to 344,000 odd on one year, was years ago before i got the car so no way of changing it, been off the road 12 years and still on 44,000 odd miles.
Mot for the lotus in 2018 is 5371 and then the mileage in 2020 is 4443 now I think that has been a wrong input because it should be 5443 or someone has rebuilt the Speedo and put it back the the wrong mileage because a friend of mine has a mark 1 jag etype and has had the Speedo rebuilt and it’s at the wrong mileage
My mate ron owns the bond bug he was the one who bought it on the program and still owns it toady 😎
As I said in the video?
@@oscarsgarage447 yes mate 😎

Great story, thanks for sharing.

Great update Trevor, good to see sometimes WD actually makes a profit and their restorations last….

Very much so... some just vanish, others are everywhere!
Very good 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Where's Benny hat 😊✌️
Wasn't cold enough then 😂
Brilliant

I don't think so, believe the Bond Bug one was shorter.

The bond bug is probably worth more now as Edd rolled it 😂
Blooming fat fingers at the MOT test station in 2012 judging by the mileage recorded on the Bond Bug 😁
Yup. Believe you can get it corrected if you notify them within 2 weeks.

I'll have a £1 with you it was an input error...
@@oscarsgarage447 probably has been an input error,I double check the mileages when I do mots coz it’s easy to be caught out with some of the mileages
Probably a daft question but why would a Bond Bug be invited to be on a Reliant stand at a show? Was there a connection between Bond and Reliant?
Reliant bought Bond I think in the late 60s and the Bug used a Reliant engine and quite a lot of their running gear.
@@oscarsgarage447 Aah thanks that explains it
How about the Bedford rascals from sky TV show brassic
Probably scrapped but will add it to the list.
'old out your 'and.
Never really liked the design of the Elan
Looks like a Barbie car
Didn't Barbie have a jeep?
The Elan is a great classic and a high tech sports car of its time. I couldn't put it in that category of Barbies car.
