Almost took this for a Sonic Mania mod because of how smooth the motion looked but then realized it was the A.I.R version of Sonic 3. Amazed every time to see a mod on top of this and the model that was used on Sonic and Tails. It's awesome how in the special zone that you're able to to complete it with the perfect bonus at high speed without ever making a mistake; it truly shows how fast and high caliber you can be at the same time. Had a stressful day today, but this longplay seemed to end it off well. Enjoyed the longplay man 👌🏿💯

I know I'm 6 months late on this, but the midboss is Festival Night Act 2 from the Sonic Hysteria soundtrack. (Sonic Hysteria is an upcoming Sonic Mania mod, but it started as a "soundtrack" for an imaginary Sonic game) Festival Night 2 is actually an older composition that the creator intends to revisit I noticed a lot of songs in this mod are from Hysteria actually- the main menu theme is Festival Night Act X (that zone is planned to have a separate Act 1 for a specific character, probably Knux), Hydrocity 1 is Hysteria's Aqua Lake Act 1 (also something planned to be revisited), CNZ1 is Festival Night Act 1, CNZ2 is Soul Shores Act 2 (it has a spooky carnival theme), FBZ1 is Metropolis Present (a few zones have time travel instead of acts), FBZ2 is Metropolis Bad Future, the list goes on
I like this a lot...not sure about the super peel out animation compared to the Sonic CD and Mania ones but still this is top class work all round! Fantastic stuff!
The music in these stages gives me vibes of if the game's music was done by the people who do the music in the Shantae games, especially Carnival Night Act 2
The Sandopolis theme and the mini boss music slaps much harder than their original counterparts. Also I love that the speed runs dont play their music.
The Hydrocity Palette was taken from D.A. Garden and the DEZ2 Background was most likely built from the ground up. Speedster Tails and Knux I have no idea where they came from, and the Custom Monitors are most likely Animated Mania Monitors by Dano. But I can't tell because they're invisible!
Looking back into this game actually got me thinking/sad at the missed opportunity Sega had with Orgins. Imagine If Origins was basically the Mania treatment to each game? Sonic 1-3 &K and CD? I would gladly pay $70 for that.
The gameplay is top notch. Pure professional level hands down. But I'm sorry my guy that music is horrific compared to the original. Hydrocity killed me :/ Hydro City, carnival night and Ice Cap were stages with compositions inspired by Michael Jackson. And the midboss music is equally terrible. But the gameplay and fluidity is impressive. 👍🏽
LOL I really like how Super Sonic stays so chill when sliding down slippery slopes in Ice Cap Zone like he doesn't have a care in the world! 😆Which does make sense considering he's invincible in this state, why would he have the need to worry about getting hurt?

very cool, not a fan of the BGM selections. Carnival Night was not a haunted place, just a amusement park, Flying Battery was not a smooth jazz laid back place, but a flying battle fortress and so on. Novel attempts none the less.

Looks great, the soundtrack is kinda pain though. Sonic 3&K’s original soundtrack is goated.
