    Katie, RESPECT!!!!!! I am Haitian. This video filled me with emotion/joy/pride 😍🥰🥺 Your pronunciation was EVERYTHING!!!! When you said you weren’t Haitian I was like WHAT???? You killed it. I’m not vegan but I have subscribed. Will be trying this recipe. BTW we don’t put celery in épis so you did right by skipping that. This video…🙌🏾EXCELLENT🇯🇲❤️🇭🇹

    I had to comment, I ordered the vegan pork chunks and made this today. OMG my Haitian husband loved it. I’m trying to convert him it’s working so far lol.
    Thank you for this recipe I followed to a t, the only mistake was adding a bit to much salt but other than that hubby, kids and I loved it 💜

      I've been thinking about this a lot. I think seitan would work well here (they have pre-made ones at Whole Foods). Fried tofu from the Asian Market would also work well!

    And when you're serving pickles always use a plastic spoon never use a metal because that affects the longevity of the pickles.

    I'm Haitian, and no one in my circle has ever used celery in epis

  • @danstrothe
    @danstrothe Рік тому

    Very good! Only advice I would give is to not use animal products when labeling the meals as vegan. I see you used chicken flavored better than bouillon in the epis. So this would make everything seasoned with the epis not vegan. I use the vegetable flavored one for my meals/seasonings. Hope this helps

    • @KatieMakesItVegan
      @KatieMakesItVegan  Рік тому +2

      I used a certified vegan flavored “chicken” bouillon. Watch carefully before giving “advice.”

      I saw where a lady fried the plantain flat then she topped it with a piece of griot and pukliez and said it was delish. Maybe if it would be sweet plantain it would be a sweet spicy and savory bite.....😂😂😂
