I can totally relate to your experience. I spent 6 years in a master program but not as strong as you, I gave up and transferred major. Feeling defeated and unworthy because you know the traditional asian culture asks us to tough up and fight through. Went through a depression episode when I couldn't find a job after graduation, also feeling guilty of spending my parents' money and not being able to give back. It took me a while to digest and re-adapt myself into the reality. I just wanna say I am proud of you Jason. See how far you've come! I also would like to share a poem with you and I hope you enjoy it. "New York is 3 hours ahead of California, but that doesn't make California slow. Someone graduated at the age of 22, but waited 5 years before securing a good job. Someone became a CEO at 25, and died at 50. While another became a CEO at 50, and lived to 90 years. People around you might seem to be ahead of you, and some might seem behind you. But everyone is running their own race, in their own time. Thank you for talking about your PhD and stuff. I was struggling in my PhD program, with no friends in the cohort or the school, together with Covid and other chaos. I decided to take a gap year to go back to my hometown in China in the hope to understand things better before going back to the states.
I really like this environment, peaceful, calm and therapeutic. When you come back to Korea, I hope you upload more videos about your home and lifestyles. Also I am really inspired your mentality, determination and hard work. Getting PhD at the early of 30s doesn’t happen to everyone. Proud yourself of what you have done🎉👏

Your old lawn mower reminded me of when my brother joined the Army and my sister and I got his job of mowing our neighbors lawn. Boy it was very hot under the Southern Texas sun. We enjoyed iced cream or watermelon🍉 from the neighbors plus our $1.00 pay😋😋

KI님 한국집 멋지네요 ㅎ KI님 발음이 제일 듣기 좋아요. 악센트가 제일 멋있어요. 듣는 사람이 듣기 편하게 배려하는 느낌이 묻어나요. 너무 굴린 미국식 영어발음 들으면 머리도 아프고 연음이 너무 많으면 상대방은 어떻게 알아들으라는건지 배려없이 내가 빨리 말하기 편한대로 말하는 느낌이 들어요.
KI님도 분명히 더 미국식 발음으로 편하게 말할수 있을텐데 안하시는거 같아요! 영어실력이 많이 늘어서 미국식 영어도 더 잘 알아들을 수 있게되면 좋겠네요. 연음 듣기 영상 몇개 들었더니 더 나아지긴 했어요.
아마도 영어 문장 자체가 머릿속에 더 많이 들어있어야할것 같아요.
머릿속에 들어있지 않은 상태에서 듣는것 만으로는 연음을 그 자리에서 다 알아듣고 이해할순 없을것 같아요. 제 생각이 맞는지 모르겠지만

Well, I don't know how to say this correctly. But those what you pertain to as "unaesthetics" make the video real and raw. I sometimes prefer seeing things like this, it's a break from the unrealistic, always put together vlogs I usually see.
