I love this snake! I am going to make a couple for earrings. I wonder how much an anvil and swage block would be…

I feel like with dead soft wire you kinda wanna harden it via hammer or nylon pliers because it can get really bendy

I bought a wig jig because of your last video. Then the following week I bought a coiling gizmo. I know you dont really use that one too much... Still loving your videos. I missed yesterday's live stream, I've got my sleep pattern all messed up. I am proud to say that I have been making a pendant a day. And I'm super excited for this weekend because my 11 year old niece is coming over to make a fairy house with me. All because of you and your amazing tutorials!!!!

After watching this I bought a wig jig. I watched a video from the wig jig channel and they say that you should pick it up and use the wig jig base to move and hold the wire in place. Thanks for a great tutorial

I remember making a necklace out of links like this. I was so proud of myself for finishing a project and the fact my friend stole it to keep for herself. Thankyou for the video and the inspiration.

Excellent tutorial, thank you! ( P.S. To stop your allergic reactions for both environmental and medications try Quercetin. We’ve been using the Now brand for the last 6 years. No side effects!)

thank you for this very interesting tutorial, you've inspired me, I'll have to get some wire and give it a go, it looks so easy and simple to do, and makes a very lovely effect... I'm picturing a pair of earrings with a few feathers attached to the bottom loop of this wire squiggle... 😃

Hello, I hope I'm not too late to reach you. I a fabrication jeweler so I make all my silver jewelry by hand. I bought a metal wig jig about two years ago and just decided to use it for the first time. I tried making coiled snake earrings with 18 gauge dead soft, low dome half-round sterling silver wire, without soldering first - I wanted a more 3-D look, uh, no go!!! However, I refused to beat! So I have a couple of questions for you:
After watching your vid, I now think round wire is better to start with until I learn how to use this thing. Can I use the same gauge you used in dead soft Sterling Silver wire to achieve the "spread look" ? And how do you spell swayje? I have dapping tools, but I've never seen the one you used before!! It's GREAT! I always curve pieces myself by hand...
Lastly, thanks for the great tutorial; I've taught simple silversmithing myself, but I definitely "went to school" with your vid, THANKS!

I have a couple of questions and I have only watched the tools needed section so far.....in the video you said 5lb anvil but linked us the 2lb, I would like mine to be about the size of yours as well as being a true anvil not a cheaper version, so which do you use 2lb or 5lb? Also I have to ask this because my skin is so sensitive but how do you stop these metals from turning your skin green and then the wire cooper instead of the coating colour? Thank-you for sharing, I am really happy you chose to do more videos like this.

BloodLace Rose I'm not sure about the anvil question but I have heard Von say she can't wear cheap jewelry bc of sensitivity to metals but hasn't had any problems with the anodized wire that she gets from Parawire. Hope this helps.

Awe thank-you so much for taking the time to answer. Yes this does help lots I will look for this wire when I shop next. Have a very wonderful day!!

BloodLaceRose I have been given some armbands that make my skin turn green if I wear them, and have found that if I coat the underside with clear nail polish, I can wear them for a few hours with no problem, just need to reapply the polish after every use so as it doesn't wear off... I haven't found a permanent fix yet, but for items I don't buy myself, at least this way I can still wear them occasionally

Thank-you for sharing Malexandre P. Yeah thats how I have been dealing with it but I found this stuff by EverBright called ProtectaClear but I can't find anyone I trust that has used it yet, it sounds promising but what I can and can not use it on isn't completely clear. They have a sample set maybe I'll just jump in with both feet and try it. Guess until then we are stuck with Nail polish hehehe. Have a great day!!

I know this isn't your style but could you show how to make simple curved shapes for earrings with a wire jig? I see them all over Etsy and they seem simple but really aren't. Hoops with different shapes...if that makes sense. I've tried a mandrel but I can't get any of it to match and the spiral and G shaped earrings you can't do on them.
